교육공간에 대한 유니버설 디자인 관점에서의 평가 사례연구(1) - G초등학교 사례를 중심으로 - (A Case Study on Evaluation of Educational Space in point of Universal Design - Focused on G Elementary School -)

  • The demand on design for human diversity is increasing in the field of spatial design. This study evaluated the spatial environment of G elementary school in point of universal design. The study was carried out by the observing and measuring method and the survey method. It focused on 53 universal design related items which consisted of 5 principles; accessibility, supportiveness, adaptiveness, safety, and equality. The subjects for the survey were 170 students from first to sixth grade of G elementary school. Findings were as follows ; 1) The elementary school had many barriers for the wheelchair users to use. 2) The width of door and passage between desks, and the front and back space in classroom were not wide to pass through. Also, the students responded that the size of desk, chair, and individual locker was not enough. That is, Some items of accessibility and supportiveness were not met in classrooms. 3) Most items related to restroom were evaluated negatively by the students. 4) The dining tables were arranged monotonously in a rows. This emphasized the institutional mood. 5) Some evaluations to their school environment were significantly different by their gender and grade.

  • This study evaluated two educational spaces, one middle school and one high school in point of universal design. The survey method with an observation and measuring method was used. The subject were 238 students of a middle and a high school. They evaluated their schools according to 53 universal design related items which consisted of 5 principles. Findings were as follows ; 1) The width of passage between desk and desk was very narrow and there is the threshold at the door of classroom. The students evaluated them negatively, too. Also, they indicated that the size of individual locker was small and the corner of furniture was sharp. 2) The width of door and passage was narrow and the floor was not flat in restroom. The design quality such as color and finishes was not good. Also, the students evaluated all these items negatively. 3) The dining space was too big. That is, so many students takes meals in one big space. The dining tables were arranged in a long rows and the width between them was also so narrow to pass through. 4) The student of high school evaluated their educational environments more negatively than ones of middle high school. This means that the high school students were more dissatisfied with their school environment. The educational environment should be designed on the base of their students' needs.

농촌마을축제의 농산물 직거래 장터 디자인에 대한 사용자 평가 - 유니버설디자인 관점에서 - (User Evaluation of the Farmers' Market Design in the Rural Village Festival - The Perspective of the Universal Design -)

  • This study is in order to promote agricultural products sold in the rural village festivals direct transaction marketplace and enabled by a comprehensive user evaluation of the rural village festivals direct transaction marketplaces in universal design perspective, provide a design plan for your care and comfort of a rural village festival Direct Deals Marketplace there is a purpose. Thus, redefining the principles of universal design suitable for direct transactions rural village festival marketplaces, and to do this by reclassifying the design elements of the farmstand-type in a framework was developed 30 questions to evaluate items for Universal Design Evaluation. And, the selection of three villages along the rural village festivals scale and conducted a survey of Universal Design Rating. As a result, the overall assessment was positive for B villages of rural village festival marketplaces direct transactions, there was a significant difference with the other village. In particular, there was a notable difference in the fairness, efficiency, promotional, safety and hygiene. And, there was a significant difference in design elements for directing atmosphere by selling space, product display, hygiene. This paper presents the design suggestions about a rural village festivals farmers' market aspects of universal design for improvement of the marketplace as following, 1) placement for differentiation the markerplace and around sites in the festival place, 2) to build the operating systems of sustainable management for arrangement and organization during the festival, 3) to install the device for maintaining agricultural products freshness 4) to separate the sale of local specialty products and general food products, and 5) to locate the suitable space considering the visitors tour route in the festival place for large-scale festival.

유니버설디자인의 평가방법에 있어서 AHP 기법의 적용 가능성 (Methodological Implications of AHP for Universal Design Evaluation Method)

  • 본 연구는 유니버설디자인의 평가방법에 AHP 기법을 적용한 연구이다. 유니버설디자인의 평가지표는 유니버설디자인의 7원칙과 일본 트라이포드 디자인사의 PPP를 검토하고, 선행연구를 참조하여 대상평가지표를 선정하였다. 선정된 평가지표는 AHP기법을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 유니버설디자인 7요소의 가중치가 도출되었다. 유니버설디자인의 중요성을 평가하는 요인으로서 '쉽게 인지할 수 있는 정보'(0.263)가 가장 중요하게 나왔으며, '오류에 대한 포용력'(0.207), '간단하고 직관적인 사용'(0.154), '적은 물리적 노력'(0.143)순으로 나타났다. '접근과 사용을 위한 크기와 공간'(0.108)이 이어서 중요하다고 나타난 반면 '공평한 사용'(0.087), '사용상의 융통성'(0.038)은 상대적으로 중요도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 가중치가 반영된 유니버설디자인의 평가 체크리스트를 제안하였으며, 가중치를 구하는 과정을 토대로 다양한 상황 하에서의 가중치 부여를 시도할 수 있을 것이다.

도시철도 역사 위생시설의 유니버설 디자인 기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on Universal Design Guideline of the Urban Railway Station: Public Toilet)

  • Purpose : As the number of the transportation poor has increased, the application of Universal Design on urban railway station has recently been focused. However, the current criteria used in domestic areas did not show the characteristic of facilities within urban railway station. Therefore, this study aims to explore the detailed criteria in applying ideas from Universal Design to sanitary facilities, especially toilets within railway station. Method : This study explores the criteria by evaluating findings from previous studies. First, the current situation of sanitary facilities in railway station is assessed. Then, the detailed criteria applicable to railway station toilets are concluded, by reviewing types of transportation poor and principles of Universal Design. Result : Findings from this study are as follows. First, the current criteria applied to railway station toilets lack ideas of Universal Design, so the better criteria applicable to sanitary facilities in railway station are necessary. Second, standard criteria used in domestic areas with newly additional criteria suggest that sanitary facilities should be established according to those criteria. Taken together, the better sanitary facilities should be provided to railway users through the application of Universal Design to railway station toilets. Implication : For the future users in railway station toilets, the additional research on types of diverse space and other sanitary facilities within railway station should have been continued.

선거의 원칙에 대한 재고찰 - 에스토니아 전자투표 사례를 중심으로 (Review of the principle of election - Focusing on the Estonia e-voting case)

  • 코로나-19 팬데믹 정점에서 치러진 2022년 3월 대통령선거는 확진자와 격리자가 투표권을 제대로 보장하지 못해 보통선거의 원칙이 훼손되었다는 비판을 크게 받게 되었다. 따라서 이들의 투표권을 보장하기 위해서는 현행 종이투표 투표소 투표의 시공간적 제한을 근본적으로 뛰어넘을 수 있는 전자투표에 대한 고민이 필요하다. 문제는 보통선거권 확대로 평등·직접·비밀선거의 원칙과 충돌하거나 침해할 소지가 높아지는 점을 어떻게 해결해 나가느냐는 것이다. 이에 대한 시사점을 얻기 위해 2005년 전자투표를 도입한 이래 11번의 전국 선거를 별 탈 없이 진행하고 있는 에스토니아의 사례를 살펴보았다. 에스토니아는 선거의 원칙에 대한 정치적·헌법적 합의와 함께 전자투표 운영에 대한 사회-기술적 시스템 전반에 걸친 제도화 및 일상화를 통해 시스템, 정부, 사회에 대한 신뢰를 성공적으로 구축해왔다. 이에 우리도 기술적 발전과 수준에서 전자투표의 가능성만을 따져보는 것이 아니라 규범적인 관점에서 선거의 원칙 간의 갈등을 조정해 사회적 합의를 이끌어내는 신뢰 구축을 위한 논의가 선행되어야 할 것이다.

노인 감염관리를 위한 모바일 어플리케이션 개발의 가이드라인 -유니버셜 디자인(Universial Design) 관점에서 (A Proposal of Guidelines for Developing the Mobile Application of Infection Controls for the Elderly -Focused on the Aspects of the Universal Design)

  • 세계는 급속도로 고령화가 되고 있고, 이러한 고령화 사회에서 국내 노인이 일상생활에서 겪는 건강관리문제와 감염 관리를 위한 종합적인 대책이 시급하다. 유니버셜 디자인은 노인들을 위한 지지적, 수용가능, 접근가능한 안전한 디자인이다. 본 연구에서 유니버셜 디자인 관점에서 노인 감염 관리를 위한 모바일 어플리케이션 개발 가이드라인을 제시하고자 했다. 본 연구의 유니버셜 디자인 관점에서 '보편적 접근성', '손쉬운 이용', '적은 물리적 노력', '시각화된 언어', '질병관리본부 수칙'은 노인에게 중요한 가이드라인이다. 따라서, 본 연구의 유니버셜 디자인을 이용한 모바일 어플리케이션 개발 가이드라인들은 노인의 건강정보이해능력을 증가시켜 감염 관리 실천행위가 증강되는데 필수적이라고 생각된다.

공공도서관 공용공간의 유니버설디자인 환경 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evaluating Common Spaces in Public Libraries by Universal Design Principles)

  • 오늘날의 공공도서관 이용 주체는 매우 다양화 되어가고 있으며, 다양한 연령 및 신체 조건의 이용자들을 고려하고 보다 편리하고, 쾌적한 환경을 갖춘 공공도서관을 만들기 위해 유니버설디자인의 필요성이 중요하게 인식되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 공공도서관의 공용공간을 유니버설디자인의 원칙을 기준으로 서울시에 위치한 공공도서관 33개소를 대상으로 한 실태조사를 통해 적용 수준을 분석하고 개선방향을 다음과 같이 제시한다. 첫째, 유니버설디자인의 적용수준이 낮은 '쉽게 인지할 수 있는 정보'와 관련한 환경을 우선적으로 개선하여야 할 것이다. 둘째, 보다 수준 높은 유니버설디자인 환경을 만들기 위해서는 설계단계부터 이를 적용하는 것이 중요하다. 셋째, '사용상의 융통성' 관련 환경은 국내의 법적인 규제에 적용되는 항목이 적어 환경 수준을 제고하기 어려운 측면이 있으므로 도서관을 이용하는 이용자 전체에 대한 세심한 배려와 인식이 선행되어야 할 것이다.

An MP Interpretation of EFL Learners′ Linguistic Behaviour

  • This study was an attempt to present an appropriate way of interpreting L2 learners' linguistic behavior within Universal Grammar (UG) framework. Based on the Korean EFL adult learners' performance on the Subjacency violation sentences, the study suggested that the EFL learners are able to acquire subtle knowledge of target grammar and their linguistic behavior should be interpreted with the most recent version of UG theory, the Minimalist Program (MP) notion. The MP notion seems more plausible to accommodate incomplete L2 grammar while acknowledging UG-constrained interlanguage which the previous version, Principles and Parameters (P&P) approach, could not explain very well. The study observed no age-effects among the Korean EFL learners in their linguistic competence measured by the performance on the UG-constraint violation sentences. Having suggested that the MP notion can be a more reasonable tool to explain the EFL learners' linguistic behavior, the study introduced comprehensive hypotheses such as Constructionist Model (CM) and the Ontogeny Phylogeny Model (OPM).

한국(韓國) 아동(兒童)의 관계절 습득 연구 - 보편문법(普遍文法) 언어원리(言語原理)의 지속적(持續的) 언어습득(言語習得) 이론(理論)을 중심으로 - (The First Language Acquisition of Relative Clauses in Korean: Continuity of the Principles of Universal Grammar in First Language Acquisition)

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine the development of embedding through relative clause formation in the first language acquisition of Korean. Results are reported from the study of the spantaneous natural speech of 36 young Korean children ranging from 16 months to 45 months in age acquiring Korean as their first language in Chinju, Korea. The results revealed a developmental order in the first language acquisition of Korean relative clause structures. Namely, a free or headless relative clause appears to be acquired first, before lexically headed restrictive relative construction. This order is consistent with one evidenced in English (and also Chinese) first language acquisition, 'free' relatives appear to provide a developmentally early stage in the acquisition of restrictive relative clauses. The Korean data provided additional evidence for an intermediary stage with an overt complementizer as well as an overt lexical head. Implications for the results are disscused with regard to a continuous theory of universal grammar in the first language acquisition.
