  • We prove a unique continuation theorem for $C^{\infty}$ functions in pseudoconvex domains in ${\mathbb{C}}^{n}$. More specifically, we show that if ${\Omega}$ is a pseudoconvex domain in ${\mathbb{C}}^n$, if f is in $C^{\infty}({\Omega})$ such that for all multi-indexes ${\alpha},{\beta}$ with ${\mid}{\beta}{\mid}{\geq}1$ and for any positive integer k, there exists a positive constant $C_{{\alpha},{\beta},{\kappa}}$ such that $$|{\frac{{\partial}^{{\mid}{\alpha}{\mid}+{\mid}{\beta}{\mid}}f}{{\partial}z^{\alpha}{\partial}{\bar{z}}^{\beta}}{\mid}{\leq}C_{{\alpha},{\beta},{\kappa}}{\mid}f{\mid}^{\kapp}}\;in\;{\Omega}$$, and if there exists $z_0{\in}{\Omega}$ such that f vanishes to infinite order at $z_0$, then f is identically zero. We also have a sharp result for the case of strongly pseudoconvex domains.

  • This study aims to inquire into the expressive characters of Shiro Kuramata's works regarding his design languages. His design languages, based on sentimentality and aesthetics characteristic of the orient and his unique memories and experiences, can be defined as nongravitation, fioatation and transparency. And the definition can be completed by his unique extinguishing technique, eliminating the structure with materials without feature, such as glass and acrylic and expanded metal, steel mash and 'Star piece Terrazzo' a material which he has invented. This study examines Shiro Kuramata's design works from the late 1960's to 1991, the year of his death, the background of his growth and the art and people who have influenced him. It also looks into the indigenous cultural background and his unique memories and experiences. The study also considers his furniture works and interior design to read his languages properties of the materials and expressive techniques. The study presents data on Shiro Kuramata and puts forwards the significance of his works and tries to lead the way of the interior design by application techniques of materials.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the style of textile pattern design on the process of building the fashion brand identity. In so doing, the study analyzes the color, style, and layout of the motive, and the drawings of the patter of textile of top seven Italian fashion brands which present in presented eight fashion design collections during the 1997∼2000 period. The results of the analysis show that the seven brands exhibit their unique characteristics of the color, style, and layout of the motive, and the drawings of the pattern of textile. The results can be interpreted in a way that their distinct features oft textile pattern design indeed contribute toward the establishment of their unique brand image and brand identity. The results of this study suggests that to initiate the top fashion brand, the fashion industry should develop its own unique style of textile pattern design.

  • Amniotic constriction band is a rare clinical entity with varied manifestations that range from a combination of congenital malformations to isolated malformations that are unique to each patient. The etiology of this entity remains unknown. Herein, we highlight two cases of amniotic constriction band that presented to our unit with unique clinical characteristics. To the best of our knowledge, an isolated circumferential band of scarring on the face with ocular involvement, as demonstrated by the first case, and a combination of bilateral complete cleft lip and palate with bilateral microphthalmia, auto-amputation of the right thumb, and a constriction band on the left thumb, as demonstrated by the second case, are extremely rare presentations of amniotic constriction band that were not previously reported in the literature and therefore necessitate a special mention. We discuss potential etiologies for these cases and review the existing literature on this entity.

  • Retail sales forecast is a special area of forecasting. Its unique characteristics call for unique data models and treatment, and unique forecasting processes. In this paper, we will address lessons learned and challenges encountered in retail sales forecast from a practical and technical perspective. In particular, starting with the data models of retail sales data, we proceed to address issues existing in estimating and processing each component in the data model. We will discuss how to estimate the multi-seasonal cycles in retail sales data, and the limitations of the existing methodologies. In addition, we will talk about the distinction between business events and forecast events, the methodologies used in event detection and event effect estimation, and the difficulties in compound event detection and effect estimation. For each of the issues and challenges, we will present our solution strategy. Some of the solution strategies can be generalized and could be helpful in solving similar forecast problems in different areas.

  • In this paper, a model for an inventory whose stock decreases with time is considered. When a deliveryman arrives, if the level of the inventory exceeds a threshold $\alpha$, no stock is delivered, otherwise a delivery is made. It is assumed that the size of a delivery is a random variable Y which is exponentially distributed. After assigning various costs to the model, we calculate the long-run average cost and show that there exist unique value of arrival rate of deliveryman $\alpha$, unique value of threshold $\alpha$ and unique value of average delivery m which minimize the long-run average cost.

  • The objective of this study is to understand the relationship between type of advertising and brand attachment. We divide advertising frame into loss and gain frame and examine the effect on brand attachment, The effect of unique advertising on brand attachment and the effects of interaction effects on brand attachment were examined. The results showed that the effect of the loss and gain frame on brand attachment was statistically significant. It also showed that unique advertising had positive effect on brand attachment. Moreover, the interaction effects of the advertising frame and the uniqueness of advertising have been shown to affect brand attachment. That is, the more emphasis on gain in advertising frame and the more unique advertising, the more effective on brand attachment.

  • In a study of the fungal diversity on Ulleung Island in Korea, three novel strains of Penicillium were isolated. Different sites on Ulleung Island were selected for collecting endophytic fungi, and three endophytic fungal strains showed unique morphological characteristics. DNA sequence of the internal transcribed spacer, β-tubulin, calmodulin, and RNA polymerase II second largest subunit regions of the strains were analyzed and they showed unique taxonomic position from the other species of Penicillium section Sclerotiora. The new strains were named Penicillium ulleungdoense sp. nov. As the novel endophytic Penicillium taxa were discovered in a unique environment, the data could be meaningful for understanding the geographical distribution of Ascomycetes on Ulleung Island.

  • Pseudomonas amygdali is a hemibiotrophic phytopathogen that causes disease in woody and herbaceous plants. Complete genomes of four P. amygdali pathovars were comparatively analyzed to decipher the impact of genomic diversity on host colonization. The pan-genome indicated that 3,928 core genes are conserved among pathovars, while 504-1,009 are unique to specific pathovars. The unique genome contained many mobile elements and exhibited a functional distribution different from the core genome. Genes involved in O-antigen biosynthesis and antimicrobial peptide resistance were significantly enriched for adaptation to hostile environments. While the type III secretion system was distributed in the core genome, unique genomes revealed a different organization of secretion systems as follows: type I in pv. tabaci, type II in pv. japonicus, type IV in pv. morsprunorum, and type VI in pv. lachrymans. These findings provide genetic insight into the dynamic interactions of the bacteria with plant hosts.

  • David Salle, born in Norman, Oklahoma in 1952, is the most important and controversial artist of the new-expressionist painting in the United States. His paintings are featured by unique artistic language, and extremely diverse and very ground-breaking expression, which reflect the American society at that time. Besides, he often uses complex image combination with striking colors and forms to attract and touch viewers. In this paper, based on the American new-expressionism, the painting language of David Salle's works was analysed, in which I found that it can be more intuitively and more profoundly feel the development of new-expressionist painting context and David Salle's particularity, and more clearly realize under what the characteristics of the era David Salle created the unique artistic language. The study on David Salle's unique painting language is of important research value and reference significance for our current artistic creation.
