  • For the production of Nucleic acid derivatives by microorganisms, adenineless mutants were induced from Bacillus subtilis with the mutagens, ultraviolet rays and diethylsulfate. And total strains of 62 adenineless mutants were isolated. These mutants were found to have an ability of accumulating u. v. absorbing substances in the culture broth. They were analyzed to be hypoxanthine, uracil, and other unknown compound by means of two dimensional thin layer chromatography, u. v. absorption spectra, and I. R. absorption spectrum. Mutant BS-137 was screened out to accumulate hypoxanthine, which was isolated from the culture broth through activated carbon column and recrystallize from cold water. The effect of the medium compositions on hypoxanthine accumulation were examined for the mutant BS-137. Glucose appeared to be the best carbon source, but molasses could be substitute for it, NaNO$_3$ and yeast extract were especially good sources of nitrogen.

  • Korean traditional paper is more than paper itself to the Korean people because of its excellence, compared to western paper, in keeping records, flexibility, strength. air permeability. and blocking ultraviolet rays. It has been used for various purposes such as book-making. covering for walls. windows or floors. making clothes and living appliances. and so on. Notwithstanding these merits. mass-produced paper has been substituted for Korean paper. Recently, however, there is a growing tendency to re-evaluate Korean paper because of its physiochemical properties. traditional beauty. eco-friendliness. and applicability to crafts. Korean paper deserves widely received re-evaluation as teaching materials for the education of ecology. creativity. and traditional arts. The purpose of this study was to find out a way of using Korean paper as sewing materials in Practical Arts classes for the elementary school. Previous researches on what properties Korean paper has and how many kinds of crafts have been made of Korean paper were reviewed. Concrete methods of utilizing Korean paper as sewing materials. especially for the finishing skills of sewing. were also proposed.

  • Nanoimprint lithography (NIL) using ultraviolet (UV) rays is a technique in which unconventional lithographic patterns are formed on a substrate by curing a suitable liquid resist in contact with a transparent patterned mold, then releasing the freshly patterned material. Here, various solutions are introduced to achieve sufficient overlay accuracy and to overcome the technical challenges in resist patterning via UV imprinting. Moreover, resist patterning of all the layers in TFT and of the BM layer in CF was carried out using UV imprinting lithography to come up with a 12.1-inch TFT-LCD panel with a resolution of $1280{\times}800$ lines (125 ppi).

  • Gynogenetic diploid of olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus were induced by cold shock to fertilized eggs with red sea bream, Paragus major sperm that had been genetically inactivated with 4,800 ergs/$mm^2$ ultraviolet (UV) rays. Cold shock to the eggs at $2^{\circ}C$ for 45 minutes proved to be optimum condition to retain the second polar body. At this treatment, hatching rates of normal fry obtained were more than $33.8\%$. No different growth rates were observed up to 200 days after hatching between control and gynogenetic diploid offsprings. However, body weights of gynogenetic diploids were significantly heavier than that of control 300 days after hatching (p> 0.05). A proportion of female in gynogenetic diploid was significantly higher than that in the control (p< 0.01).

  • This example was able to focus on the long usage of the pavement that it was merely through the oxidation of the asphalt pavement which it could contact with on the road in the industrial housing complex and correlation regulation of the asphalt subsidence with the load in basic Infra of the configuration. The problem in conjunction with the subsidence (transformation) was interpreted as a problem of the subsidence of each pavement layer to lead the subsidence of the road or the transformation to packaging side asphalt pavement, but the traffic number of times of the heavy vehicle highlights for main problems with the road where is concentrated. In the case of general asphalt paving, it thinks it exposes light, and to study a general phenomenon for the asphalt transformation and a cause for a pavement construction method and the property of material used for pavement and a complement method by the case study at this time of the compound with the heavy vehicle traffic that it can become clear that small success transformation occurs at a point in time when 1-2 years more pass, and a fatigue rift occurs by ultraviolet rays, the oxidation with the contact with the air afterwards, and described beginning to use by the above.

  • We have investigated a supra-arcade structure associated with an M1.6 flare, which occurred on the south-east limb in the 4th of November 2010. It is ob- served in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) with the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), microwaves at 17 and 34 GHz with the Nobeyama Radioheliograph (NoRH), and soft X-rays of 8-20 keV with the Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI). Interestingly, we found exceptional properties of the supra-arcade thermal plasma from the AIA 131 A and the NoRH: 1) plasma upflows along large coronal loops and 2) enhancing microwave emission. RHESSI detected two soft X-ray sources, a broad one in the middle of supra-arcade structure and a bright one just above the flare-arcade. We estimated the number density and thermal energy for these two source regions during the decay phase of the flare. In the supra-arcade source, we found that there were increases of the thermal energy and the density at the early and the last stages, respectively. On the contrary, the density and thermal energy of the source on the top of the flare-arcade decreases throughout. The observed upflows imply that there is continuous energy supply into the supra- arcade structure from below during the decay phase of the flare. It is hard to be explained by the standard flare model in which the energy release site is located high in corona. Thus, we suggest that the potential candidate as the energy source for the hot supra-arcade structure is the flare-arcade which has exhibited a predominant emission throughout.

  • The radish skin and radish greens are an edible part of the radish. But they are removed before eating the radish and used as a byproduct or an animal feed material because of their tough and rough texture. Melanin is a pigment that gives colour to our skin. But increased production of melanin can turn into benign or malignant tumours. These days due to global warming, the amount of Ultra violet (UVB) rays has been extensively increased with sunlight. Due to this, a phenomenon called exogenous photo aging is widely observed for all skin colour and types. As a result of this phenomenon, a set of enzymes called matrix metalloproteinases (MMP's) that serves as degradation enzymes for extracellular matrix proteins mainly collagen is increased, causing depletion in collagen and resulting in early wrinkles formation. Therefore in our study we used the murine melanoma cell line B16/F10 to study the melanogenesis inhibition by Heated radish extract (HRE) in vitro and we used HRM-2 hair less mice exposed to artificial UVB for checking the efficacy of Heated radish extract in vivo. Furthermore, we prepared a 3% Heated radish extract (HRE) cream and checked its effects on human skin. Our results have clearly demonstrated that Heated radish extract (HRE) have potently suppressed the tyrosinase activity and melanin production in B16/F10 cells. It had also reduced the expression of components involved in melanin production pathway both transcriptionally and transitionally. In in vivo studies, HRE had potently suppressed the expression of MMP's and reduced the wrinkle formation and inhibited collagen degradation. Moreover, on human skin, ginseng cream increased the resilience, skin moisture and enhanced the skin tone. Therefore in light of these findings, we conclude that HRE is an excellent skin whitening and antiaging product.
