Since ultra-high performance cementitious composites (UHPCC) not only represents high early age shrinkage strain due to its low water-to-binder ratio (W/B) and high fineness admixture usage but also reduces the cross section of structure from the higher mechanical properties, it generally has more shrinkage cracks from the restraints of formwork and reinforcing bars. In this study, free and restrained shrinkage experiments were conducted to evaluate the suitability of incorporating both expansive admixture (EA) and shrinkage reducing agent (SRA). The test results indi-cated that approximately 40~44% of free shrinkage strain was decreased. Also, the results showed that 35% and 47% of residual tensile stresses were relieved by synergetic effect of SRA and EA, respectively. Residual tensile stresses from ringtest were relaxed by approximately 61% and 64% of elastic shrinkage stresses due to SRA and EA, respectively, because of the tensile creep effect. Therefore, the creep effect should be considered to precisely estimate the restrained shrinkage behavior of concrete structures. The degree of restraint of UHPCC was approximately in the range of 0.78~0.85. The addition of combined EA and SRA showed minute influence on the degree of restraint. However, the effect decreased when thicker concrete ring was used. Tensile creep strains were measured and compared to the predicted values from 4-parametric prediction model considering time dependent restrained forces.
A brief overview is given of the development of various structural steels and their welding application technology. Firstly, the general characteristics and welding performance of structural steels used in architecture and bridge are introduced. For safety against earthquakes or strong wind, and for highly efficient welding in high-rise building constructions, ultra high strength steel with tensile strength over 800 MPa or high HAZ toughness steel plates under high heat input welding have been developed. In particular, efficient welding technology ensuring high resistance to cold and hot cracking of ultra high strength steel is reviewed in the present paper. Secondly, various coated steels used mainly for outer part in construction are briefly discussed. Moreover, a major drawback of coated steel during welding operation, and several solutions to overcome such technical problem are proposed. It is hoped that this review paper can lead to significant academic contributions and provide readers interested in the structural steels with useful welding technology.

Recently, with the increase in the construction of ultra-high buildings and long-span structures, there is great demand for high-strength concrete which can reduce the structural weight and thickness of member sections. While developing high-strength concrete to meet performance requirements, certain issues at the design stage must also be considered. The issues include diseconomy from a great amount of per-unit cement, spalling failure by fire at ultra-high building, autogenous shrinkage caused by increased hydration activity of binder from use of a superplasticizer. Therefore, the purpose of this study is examined the strain characteristics of Fiber-reinforced-high-strength concrete(FRHSC), which differ from those of general concrete owing to autogenous shrinkage. Based on the experimental data, we proposed an autogenous shrinkage prediction model.
This study evaluates the direct tensile strength of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) using tests. A total of 45 dogbone-shaped specimens are tested, with the test variables being the fiber volume fraction and notch length. The test results showed that the material properties of UHPC were largely dependent on the fiber volume fraction and compressive strength. When steel fibers with more than 1% fiber volume fraction are mixed in the manufacturing of UHPC, the tensile strength can be more than twice that of plain UHPC. In addition, the incorporation of steel fibers enabled the significant improvement of the initial cracking strength. However, the effect of the notch length on the tensile behavior was insignificant. An assessment of the direct tensile strength is conducted using machine-learning algorithms (ML). For evaluation of the direct tensile strength of UHPC using ML, a total of 98 test data, including 53 data from other research works and 45 data from this experimental program, were collected. In total, 67 data with a 70% confidence interval on a normal distribution curve were selected, with 47 data among 67 used for ML training and 20 data used for ML testing. As a result, the machine-learning algorithm with a steel fiber volume fraction predicted that the tensile strength has an average of 0.98 and the lowest values of regression evaluation metrics among analytical and ML-based models. It is considered that an ML-based model can help to predict a more accurate tensile strength of UHPC.
This paper aimed to study the local bond-slip behavior between ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) and a reinforcing bar after exposure to high temperatures. A series of pull-out tests were carried out on cubic specimens of size 150×150×150 mm with deformed steel bar embedded for a fixed length of three times the diameter of the tested deformed bar. The experimental results of the bond stress-slip relationship were compared with the Euro-International Concrete Committee (CEB-Comite Euro-International du Beton)-International Federation for Prestressing (FIP-Federation Internationale de la Precontrainte) Model Code and with prediction models found in the literature. In addition, based on the test results, an empirical model of the bond stress-slip relationship was proposed. The evaluation and comparison results showed that the modified CEB-FIP Model code 2010 proposed by Aslani and Samali for the local bond stress-slip relationship for UHPC after exposure to high temperatures was more conservative. In contrast, for both room temperature and after exposure to high temperatures, the modified CEB-FIP Model Code 2010 local bond stress-slip model for UHPC proposed in this study was able to predict the test results with reasonable accuracy.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a new technology paradigm demanding one packaged system of various semiconductor and MEMS devices. Therefore, the development of electronic packaging technology with very high connectivity is essential for successful IoT applications. This paper discusses both fan-out wafer level packaging (FOWLP) and 3D stacking technologies to achieve the integrattion of heterogeneous devices for IoT. FOWLP has great advantages of high I/O density, high integration, and design flexibility, but ultra-fine pitch redistribution layer (RDL) and molding processes still remain as main challenges to resolve. 3D stacking is an emerging technology solving conventional packaging limits such as size, performance, cost, and scalability. Among various 3D stacking sequences wafer level via after bonding method will provide the highest connectivity with low cost. In addition substrates with ultra-thin thickness, ultra-fine pitch line/space, and low cost are required to improve system performance. The key substrate technologies are embedded trace, passive, and active substrates or ultra-thin coreless substrates.
The analytical model was constituted to evaluate the flexural strength of UHPFRC(ultra high performance fiber reinforced concrete) member. The analytical approach was attemped to study the effect of the joint and the result compared with the experimental study to verify the analytical model. The calculated value tends to underestimate about 23%~25% in comparison with the experimental result of the jointed test member because the bond stress between precast UHPFRC and cast-in-place UHPFRC surface is not considered in the analytical model. But in the case of the continuous test member, the analytical model provides reasonable results for the flexural strength of UHPFRC member.

A broadband DC to 40 GHz 5-bit MMIC digital attenuator has been developed. The ultra broadband attenuator has been achieved by newly inserted the transmission lines in conventional Switched-T attenuator and the optimization of the transmission line parameters. Momentum was employed in design for an accurate performance prediction at high frequencies and Monte Carlo analysis was applied to verify performance stability against the MMIC process variation. The attenuator has been fabricated with 0.15 $\mu$m GaAs pHEMT process. This attenuator has 1 dB resolution and 23 dB dynamic range. High attenuation accuracy has been achieved over all attenuation range and full 40 GHz bandwidth with the reference state insertion loss of less than 6 dB at 20 GHz. The input and output return losses of the attenuator are better than 14 dB over all attenuation states and frequencies.

The low power of ultra-wideband (UWB) signal makes the acquisition of UWB signal be a more challenging task. In this paper, we propose the method of high order template signal technique that reduces the synchronization time. Experimental results are presented to show the improvements of performance in the mean acquisition time (MAT) and the probability of detection. The performance compared with the serial search, the truly random search and the random permutation search. It is shown that over typical UWB multipath channels, a random permutation search scheme may yield lower MAT than serial search.
Since the concrete strength around the reinforcement rebar affects the tension stiffening, the tension stiffening effect of ultra high performance concrete on the concrete members reinforced by steel rebar is examined by testing the specimens with circular cross section with the length 850 mm reinforced by a steel rebar at the center of a specimen's cross section in this research. Conducting a tensile test on the specimens, the cracking behavior is evaluated and a curve with an exponential descending branch is obtained to explain the post-cracking zone. In addition, this paper proposes an equation for this branch and parameters of equation is obtained based on the ratio of cover thickness to rebar diameter (c/d) and reinforcement percentage (${\rho}$).
