Large-size, organic light-emitting device (OLED) panels based on highly reliable gate driver circuits integrated using InGaZnO thin film transistors (TFTs) were developed to achieve ultra-high resolution TVs. These large-size OLED panels were driven by using a novel gate driver circuit not only for displaying images but also for sensing TFT characteristics for external compensation. Regardless of the negative threshold voltage of the TFTs, the proposed gate driver circuit in OLED panels functioned precisely, resulting from a decrease in the leakage current. The falling time of the circuit is approximately 0.9 ㎲, which is fast enough to drive 8K resolution OLED displays at 120 Hz. 120 Hz is most commonly used as the operating voltage because images consisting of 120 frames per second can be quickly shown on the display panel without any image sticking. The reliability tests showed that the lifetime of the proposed integrated gate driver is at least 100,000 h.
In this paper, we are going to describe the performance characteristic of very high resolution image processing with WebCL on the web environment. In order to evaluate the variance of the execution time by WebCL, we modified the Pixastic library, one of the most representative image processing libraries written in JavaScript, by using WebCL. We achieved a speedup of up to 4.2 times and 2.8 times on average against the original one for the image of 8K Ultra HD with the WebCL-based library.
In this research, we presented a data integration, which integrates ultra high resolution images and complementary data for 3D building reconstruction. In our method, as the ultra high resolution image, Three Line Sensor (TLS) images are used in combination with 2D digital maps, DSMs and both of them. Reconstructed 3D buildings, correctness rate and the accuracy of results were presented. As a result, optimized combination scheme of data sets , sensors and methods was proposed.
Photogrammetry is a current method of GIS data acquisition. However, as a matter of fact, a large manpower and expenditure for making detailed 3D spatial information is required especially in urban areas where various buildings exist. There are no photogrammetric systems which can automate a process of spatial information acquisition completely. On the other hand, LiDAR has high potential of automating 3D spatial data acquisition because it can directly measure 3D coordinates of objects, but it is rather difficult to recognize the object with only LiDAR data, for its low resolution at this moment. With this background, we believe that it is very advantageous to integrate LiDAR data and stereo CCD images for more efficient and automated acquisition of the 3D spatial data with higher resolution. In this research, the automatic urban object recognition methodology was proposed by integrating ultra highresolution stereo images and LiDAR data. Moreover, a method to enable more reliable and detailed stereo matching method for CCD images was examined by using LiDAR data as an initial 3D data to determine the search range and to detect possibility of occlusions. Finally, intellectual DSMs, which were identified urban features with high resolution, were generated with high speed processing.
Fourier ptychographic microscopy (FPM) is a recently proposed computational imaging method that achieves both high resolution (HR) and wide field of view. In the FPM framework, a series of low-resolution (LR) images at different illumination angles is used for high-resolution image reconstruction. On the basis of previous research, image noise can significantly degrade the FPM reconstruction result. Since the captured LR images contain a lot of dark-field images with low signal-to-noise ratio, it is very important to apply a noise-reduction process to the FPM raw dataset. However, the thresholding method commonly used for the FPM data preprocessing cannot separate signals from background noise effectively. In this work, we propose an improved thresholding method that provides a reliable background-noise threshold for noise reduction. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more efficient and robust than the conventional thresholding method.
There is growing interest in ultra-high-resolution content that gives a more realistic sense of presence than existing broadcast content. However, in order to provide ultra-high-resolution contents in existing broadcast services, there are limitations in view angle and resolution of the image acquisition device. In order to solve this problem, many researches on stitching, which is an image synthesis method using a plurality of input devices, have been conducted. In this paper, we propose method of dynamic object based video stitching using minimal error seam in order to overcome the temporal invariance degradation of moving objects in the stitching process of horizontally oriented videos.

This study describes the design and verification of short range UWB(Ultra Wideband) imaging radar that is able to display high resolution radar image for front area of a UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle). This radar can help a UGV to navigate autonomously as it detects and avoids obstacles through foliage. We describe the relationship between bandwidth of transmitting signal and range resolution. A vivaldi antenna is designed and it's radiation pattern and reflection are measured. It is easy to make array antenna because of small size and thin shape. Aperture size of receiving array antenna is determined by azimuth resolution of radar image. The relation of interval of receiving antenna array, image resolution and aliasing of target on a radar image is analyzed. A vector network analyzer is used to obtain the reflected signal and corner reflectors as targets are positioned at grass field. Applicability of the proposed radar to UGV is proved by analysis of image resolution and penetrating capability for grass in the experiment.

We propose a method to evaluate a Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) using a circular target. In addition, a MATLAB GUI-based resolution analysis tool was developed to enhance the reliability of UAV image quality and the efficiency of the work. For this purpose, images were taken with an FC-6310 during flights at altitudes of 80 m, 120 m, and 150 m and by an iXM-100 at altitudes of 150 m, 200 m, and 400 m. The MTFs of UAV images were compared with traditional photogrammetry by measuring and analyzing MTFs on images taken by the UltraCAM Eagle Mark-2 sensor at a flight altitude of 1000 m. The results show that ${\sigma}MTF$ of the FC-6310 were 0.431(80 m), 0.524(120 m), and 0.699(150 m), and those of the iXM-100 were 0.332(150 m), 0.393(200 m), and 0.631(400 m), respectively. At the altitude of 150 m, the image quality of the iXM-100, which has a high-performance camera, was very high, and the effect of the camera performance on the image quality was confirmed. In addition, the ${\sigma}MTF$ of the UltraCAM Eagle Mark-2 was 0.711 due to the high flight altitude. This was the worst value among all UAV images. However, the ${\sigma}MTF$ of the FC-6310 at 150-m altitude was 0.699, which is almost the same as that of a manned aerial image.
The purpose of this study was tried to remove the noise and improve the spatial resolution in the computed tomography (CT) by using anisotropic 2-dimensional (2D) diffusion based filter. We used 4-channel multi-detector CT and american association of physicists in medicine (AAPM) phantom was used for CT performance evaluation to evaluate the image quality. X-ray irradiation conditions for image acquisition was fixed at 120 kVp, 100 mAs and scanned 10 mm axis with ultra-high resolution. The improvement of anisotropic 2D diffusion filtering that we suggested firstly, increase the contrast of the image by using histogram stretching to the original image for 0.4%, and multiplying the individual pixels by 1.2 weight value, and applying the anisotropic diffusion filtering. As a result, we could distinguished five holes until 0.75 mm in the original image but, five holes until 0.40 mm in the image with improved anisotropic diffusion filter. The noise of the original image was 46.0, the noise of the image with improved anisotropic 2D diffusion filter was decreased to 33.5(27.2%). In conclusion improved anisotropic 2D diffusion filter that we proposed could remove the noise of the CT image and improve the spatial resolution.

Digital aerial images have been commonly used in a large scale map production owing to their excellent geometry, and high spatial and radiometric resolution in recent years. However, a quality verification process for acquired images should be preceded in order to secure the high precision and reliability of produced results. Several experimental studies to verify digital imaging systems have been vigorously researched by constructing permanent test field in abroad. On the other hand, it is urgently necessary to suggest a practical scheme for an image quality verification, because this related study and experiment are still in its early stage at home. Hence, this study aims to present an easy method to measure the spatial resolution of the image in a visual way using a portable Siemens star. The images used in the study were obtained with three different cameras, two frame array sensors of DMC, UltraCamXp and a linear array sensor of ADS80. The Siemens star target appeared in every image is extracted and then the spatial resolution of image is compared with theoretical GSD(Ground Sample Distance) by a visual method. In addition, the change of spatial resolution depending on the location of the Siemens star from image center and flight direction and cross-flight direction is also compared and analyzed. As study results, while the theoretical GSDs of images taken with each camera are about 6~9cm, the visual resolutions are 1.2~1.3 times as great as the theoretical ones.
