We have developed a new remote-configurable firewall system that provides secure and easy-to-use access to home-network appliances such as network cameras, PVRs, and home file servers, through the internet. With a simple web browser operation, remote users can dynamically open and close the firewall of the home gateway. The firewall rule creation is based on an authentication of the remote client, and thus only packets from the authorized client can pass through the firewall, we analyses the sorority design for home gateway in ubiquitous surroundings.

The emergence of ubiquitous autonomic computing and network environment will change the service architecture information system which will be a new application area in SCM/logistics systems. In this study we surveyed the technical trend map of ubiquitous and its application in SCM/logistics support system design. We described the evolutional model of ubiquitous computing community for SCM/logistics system. It is consisted of three view points; self-growing, autonomic, and context-aware, which will allow the decision makers to be benefited from web and mobile technology and are useful for proactive SCM/logistics support system. Finally, we suggested a cooperative research planning for the development ubiquitous system between the government research center, university, and industry research activities.

A ubiquitous refers to the integration of the existing documentation. cyber space, and high-tech digital technology into a wireless terminal through ubiquitous computing and network technology. With the ubiquitous environment, a library and museum can extend its roles and functions all the more, and expectedly results in internal and external great changes. The purpose of this study was to examine the changed forms and contents of a ubiquitous-library/museum. Specially, We wished to forecast change that occur in museum user service and government official management side.

In this paper, we propose a home-networking service using mobile phone and ZigBee module. Recently, ZigBee is widely used for various applications due to its characteristics. Especially, it is generally adopted for home network services. We propose a new home network service model using mobile phones. In the proposed architecture, the mobile phones are connected to conventional home network appliances using ZigBee dongle. Also, several servers are implemented for service management. We implement the whole components of the proposed architecture and show the validity of the proposed method. With the proposed service structure, it is expected to provide various ubiquitous services for the user.

요즘 사회에 이슈가 되는 것을 꼽으라면 사람들은 주저 없이 Ubiquitous를 말할 것이다. Ubiquitous란 사용자가 네트워크나 컴퓨터를 의식하지 않고 장소에 상관없이 자유롭게 네트워크에 접속할 수 있는 정보통신 환경을 의미한다. Sensor Network과 RFID는 Ubiquitous 환경을 구축하는데 필요한 아주 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 구현된 Sensor Network과 RFID의 기술을 이용하여 Ubiquitous Healthcare system의 일환으로 '노약자 관리 시스템 구축'에 대해 서술하고자 한다. 특별한 관리가 필요한 노약자(어린아이, 치매성 질환을 가진 노인, 정신지체 장애인 등)를 대상으로 보호자와 응급센터와의 네트워크를 구축하고 기반시설과의 연동을 통해서 보다 체계적이고 효율적인 관리 시스템에 대해서 서술한다. Sensor Network과 RFID의 기본적인 개념, 노약자 관리시스템의 필요성, 제안된 관리시스템에 관해 서술한다.

A lot of valuable-piece of information are acquisited through ubiquitous sensor network(USN) system composed of man-made sensors. The telemetry system used for communicating to access informations between nature and human-beings monitors and estimates the status of infrastructure, utilities and natural environments to prevent hidden disasters, improving quality of life and productivity in multi-directional views. That would be the reason of USN subsistence. This paper will be a review on how to build long-term USN system. Therefore, this paper focuses on reviewing the sensor interface and the sensor network interface and its significance as the foundation stone for varying USN service profiles and showing its development example, and finally proposing a few of things to set up future-oriented USN open system.

As using of network Increases rapidly, performance of system has been deteriorating because of the overhead and bottleneck. Nowadays, high speed I/O network standard, that is a sort of InfiniBand, PCI Express and so on, has come out to improve the limites of traditional I/O bus. The InfiniBand provides some protocols to service the applications such as SDP, SRP and IPoIB. In our paper, We explain the architecture of SDP(Socket Direct Protocol) and its features in channel based I/O network. And so, we provide a result of performance evaluation of SDP which is compared with current network protocol. Our experimental results also show that SDP is better than TCP/IP protocol.

A home network provides users with a variety of information services. The kind and quality of the services can be substantially enhanced by utilizing a variety of data from sensors. However, home networks currently limit their potential by focusing on providing multimedia services rather than services utilizing sensor data. Outdoor electronics are frequently made in a form that emphasizes only certain limited functions in contrast to home appliances. Thus, sensors with one or two functions rather than many can be used in outdoor systems and their use will be more economical than using sensor nodes indoors with more complex home appliances. In this study, we chose to work with motion sensors as they have many potential uses, and we selected a parking lot control system with to use the motion sensors. This parking lot control system was implemented and applied as part of a home network. For this purpose, we defined and implemented a protocol to manage the network in a ubiquitous sensor network environment for the wireless home network in this study. Although a network management system in a Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) related to this study is being advanced for other projects, the protocol interface and message system have not yet been clearly defined for use in a general purpose network or in an extension into heterogeneous kinds of networks, communication support, etc. Therefore, USN network management should be conducted for management of faults, composition, power, and applications. To verify the performance of the protocol interface designed in this study, we designed and implemented the necessary units (sensor nodes, sensor gateway, and server) for each network section and, with them, proved the validity of this study.

This paper proposes the U-healtcare middleware that is based on mininumCORBA. Ubiquitous healthcare system is generated by combining the technologies of computer system and medical system. This makes available that the person can receive medical treatment anywhere, anytime at on-line. The Healthcare devices are connected to network system as wire or wireless internet. So, the computer system can gather the vital information from the person at the real time and transfers the information to the server system that processes the medical information. When a medical doctor makes a diagnosis they can get more information about the patient by using the information within the server. Users would like to receive more services in the ubiquitous healthcare system than the traditional medical system. And in U-healthcare system, every healthcare devices and the users have to be connected to network system and the information from them has to be integrated. U-Home Healthcare middleware I proposed in this paper will do everything that I mentioned above.

The aim of this research is to design and analyze a social network service model using mobile RFID based business card. This paper suggests how the behavior of exchanging business cards will be changed in ubiquitous environment and designs a social networking service model using a ubiquitous business card, which embeds a RFID tag. We describe the scenarios and analyze a role, value and potential benefits of participants of the u-SNS service model. For the proof of the superiority and the feasibility of our model, we compare it with its related researches and products based on the calculation of the benefits and costs of the alternatives.
