Design of Ubiquitous Reference Point for Location Service (위치정보 제공 서비스를 위한 유비쿼터스 기준점 설계 연구)

  • There are 21,000 National Surveying Control Points (NSCP) made of stone for precise surveying nationwide. NSCPs that provide location information are usually buried at the top of a mountain for view points that cannot be used by the public. Recently, according to the growing ubiquitous computing generation, location-based information has become very important and a service that can be easily accessed by the public is needed. In this research, a new type of reference point for a location information service is proposed. It is an Intelligent Reference Point (IRP) equipped with RFID tags and a two-dimensional bar-code system. The IRP system is composed of an electronic tag component, a tag identification component, and an IRP service component. We designed the IRP receiver identifying RFID tag and two-dimensional barcode was designed using a PDA, digital camera, and an RFID receiver. Also designed was IRP input data and input information. Furthermore, the operation software was developed in a PDA for identifying IRP and using IRP the service, and the IRP positioning method was developed using a GIS spatial analysis.

  • LBS has many issues of wireless sensor networks and mobile communication parts. Location tracking or location sensing will be the opening of ubiquitous society's a big challenge and the beginning of infinite ubiquitous society's a chance. The purpose of this paper is study of sensing rate per reader antenna's placement and tag location and placement using RFID as location reference point with many advantages for location detection.

  • Recently, as the dissemination of the Internet and development of computer network technology, Research is actively underway for realization of the next-generation computing paradigm called Ubiquitous Computing. For realization of Ubiquitous computing, The data recognized from each sensors must be collected on real-time and transferred to applied service so that they may be used as data for providing service to users. However, there are several problem for realization. First, there is no standardization of sensor metadata, interface and event definition. Second, applied service has weak point that difficult of approaching to the data. Third, none interoperability with each platform and protocol. In this paper, we designed Sensor Service Description Language based on XML to resolve problem above. This Language expresses the measurement of the sensor and Service Metadata in the form to be standardized. In addition, we have proposed and development a reference model for USN application service.

  • For the ubiquitous healthcare environment, real-time measurement of biomedical signals and accuracy of the measured biomedical information are very important. In addition, it is important to develop a healthcare device with low power In this paper, the synchronized pulse in a heartbeat was detected from the radial artery using the piezo film sensor, in order to eliminate inconvenience to wear a pulse detection finger probe. We can get a best output after applying the adaptive noise canceller using two piezo film sensor signals, pulse signal having motion artifacts and motion artifacts reference signal. To detect heartbeat, we use maximum point detection method from pulse removed motion artifacts.

  • Since urban facilities have a signigicant meaning that represents the degree of development of nations and cities, it is very important to effectively manage and operate the facilities. In this paper, we propose a context-awareness system for managing urban underground facilities intelligently and develop its algorithm and prototype. The algorithm of the suggested system includes the period from the point when various sensors set up in USN environments sense abnormal signals and make alarms to the point when the context-awareness system analyzes the alarm and sends the analysis results to integrated platform and related modules. We then implement the prototype of the proposed context awareness system and verify the effectiveness of the system by performing unit tests. Our developed prototype will become the basis of actual system development. We expect that the suggested system will be used as a good reference model of related systems managing various types of urban facilities.

Removing the Motion Artifacts in the Pulse Signal Detected from the PFS Using the Quasi-periodicity (유사 주기성을 이용한 PFS 펄스 신호의 동잡음 제거)

  • For the mobile healthcare environment, it is important to measure the exact biomedical signals in real time, and another key point is to design mobile healthcare devices with low power consumption. In this paper, we propose a method in which the piezo film sensor(PFS), having a low power characteristic, is used to measure the pulse signal synchronized with the heart rate from the radial artery. The critical issue in the bio-signal processing is the existence of the motion artifacts. To dissolve this problem, we have applied the periodic moving average filter using the quasi-periodicity of the pulse signal in addition to the conventional method of the adaptive filtering using the reference signal. Results of simulation and experiments are presented to confirm that the quasi-periodicity of the PFS signal can be used to eliminate completely the motion artifacts which still appears after the adaptive filtering.
