Design of Recommender System and Metadata Construction for UCC producer (UCC 제작자를 위한 UCC 추천 시스템 설계와 메타데이터 구성)

  • In order to produce the variety of UCC, the recommendation service is required which considers the copyright of UCC producer discriminated from one for UCC consumers and the purpose of its production. The recommender system designed in this thesis enables UCC which is much similar to one UCC producer utilizes to be used with custom-made when recommending and producing based on UCC view history and production list, etc. of its producer. The recommender system is largely divided into filtering based on the preferred tag, UCC filtering used when producing the preferred UCC and creating process of recommended UCC using the Pearson formula. The recommender system in this thesis requires the data which were used when producing UCC. For that, we added the reference factor so that the data of UCC which were utilized when producing UCC into the existing metadata can be recorded. If the recommender system suggested in this thesis is used, the more effective and convenient UCC recommendation services with custom-made for producers can be provided.

A Study on the Motivation for the Participation in Video UCC Production and Its Effects (동영상 UCC 제작 참여 동기와 효과에 대한 연구)

  • With the recent trend of Web 2.0, experts argue that the UCC age has blossomed where people themselves produce their own content and share it on the Internet. However, more academic studies on video UCC production are needed to understand fully the video UCC phenomenon in Korea. This study was done as an exploratory study to investigate the motivations for video UCC production and its effects. Results reveal that the important motivations for participating in video UCC creation are fun, sharing, and self-expression. For the rewards for video UCC creation participation, feedback, sharing and self-satisfaction are considered valuable psychological rewards by the video UCC creators. Furthermore, the total amount of video UCC production is positively correlated with self-evaluation of fun, importance, and practicality of the video UCC content.

  • As the Internet is more embedded in people's lives, users draw on new Internet applications to express themselves through user-created contents(UCC). UCC is defined as content that is made publicly available over the Internet, reflects a certain amount of creative effort and is created outside of professional practices. This study describes the rapid growth of UCC as well as its increasing role in network-based communication. Based on the definition of UCC and the structure of emerging value chain, a taxonomy of UCC businesses is presented : UCC e-marketing business, UCC publishing business, UCC e-retailing business, and UCC development software business. This paper concludes with implications for platform and internet access providers.

  • UCC stands right in the center of web 2.0 era represented by share, participation, and openness. Moving picture UCC has been facilitated by If infrastructure advancement and sociocultural changes. Its prospect is expected to be brighter because presumers are spreading, cost of creating and distributing contents is greatly reduced, and there is going to appear more companies utilizing UCC in improving firm's competitiveness. In this paper, various UCC business models are analyzed and hot major issues faced by UCC industry such as profit model and copyright are discussed. In addition, strategies for UCC business success and opportunities and challenges confronted by UCC businesses are discussed.

  • UCC comes into the spotlight as keyword to lead forward web business with appearance of web 2.0 that has characteristic of 'participation, opening and sharing'. Despite continuous magnification of UCC's influence by spread of prosumer that consuming public participates actively in production and development of new platform, there is no clear business model of UCC. So, inside and outside of the country industry is trying various effort to break this situation. As basis research for establishment business model of UCC, this paper wished to examine the prospects of development by analyzed present condition of UCC service. That is, it drew problems of UCC service after examine concept and type of UCC, direction technology development and profit model through analyzed foreign countries and domestic example of UCC's service. It wished to watch the development direction of UCC service from that.

  • UCC is a key characteristic of so-called Web 2.0 which encourage the publishing of one's own content and commenting on other people's. Nowadays, UCC has become a widely used. Accordingly, problem of copyright become a issue. In this paper, we propose the DRM system for UCC rights protection. The system solve the copyright problem in UCC. Therefore, UCC creator can exert the right of UCC. In addition, if the problem of copyright occur, we can find the illegal user and call a him to account by CE information which is stored in UCC server and have a property that a manufacture of original contents can control the copyright.

  • The characteristic of Web 2.0 is openness, participation, share, cooperation and creation. The purpose of this article was to identify learner based knowledge creation strategy through UCC in Web 2.0, to develop UCC by university students and to make systematic UCC process. This article suggested knowledge creation strategy with UCC learning Community of Practice(CoP). UCC was developed by 25 students who registered e-learning in "P" university and conducted interview with students and experts to analyze the contents which related with research questions. Systematic process for developing educational UCC was consisted of sectors such as idea creation, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Main developing process steps were as follows: making subject$\rightarrow$seeking information$\rightarrow$selecting data$\rightarrow$designing contents$\rightarrow$making story board$\rightarrow$planning of filming$\rightarrow$filming$\rightarrow$digitalizing$\rightarrow$editing$\rightarrow$reviewing final product$\rightarrow$implementing$\rightarrow$evaluating. For learner based knowledge creation through UCC, educational institutions have to provide platform for learners' need, and learners create diverse ideas with UCC CoP. This article suggested knowledge creation strategy with sharing collective intelligence through process of UCC design, development, implement and evaluation.

  • In this paper, we propose an UCC broadcasting system in P2P based IPTV environments. Proposed system applies P2P based multiple chain architecture. UCC broadcasting system transfers data from not ISP server but UCC server peer that is included in DSLAM to joined peers. Therefore an algorithm to manage join and departure of peers have to modified. In this paper we propose an algorithm that does not increase an uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server when peer joins to the UCC channel. We will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server.

  • Production and distributon of UCC prepared User of UCC. Power law of participation is available tool for analysis of UCC user. Understanding Personal and Cultural Factors on the Level of UCC Participation: Centered on Korea and U.S.A (UCC 사용자 참여수준과 개인적 및 문화적 특성 요인과의 관계 - 한국과 미국을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the ethical implications in UCC participation. This paper aimed at examining the advent of UCC as a critical media tool in interactive two-way communication and the effect of ethical questions on the level of UCC participation. The findings show that uncertainty avoidance gives an positive and significant effect on privacy concern and regulatory preference, but it is not related to copyright invasion in Korea and U.S.A. It is shown that privacy concern does not influence on UCC retrieval in Korea whereas it is positively related to UCC retrieval in the United States. Also, privacy concern has not relationship with UCC production(modification, recreation, generation) in both nations. In the case of regulatory preference, it posits an significant and positive effect on UCC retrieval in Korea while it is not related to UCC retrieval in the United States. Also, regulatory preference does not affect on UCC production in Korea whereas it influences on UCC generation without impacting UCC modification and recreation in U.S.A. Finally, the results show that copyright invasion has stronger relationship with UCC recreation and generation than UCC modification, and it is positively related to UCC retrieval in both nations.
