Improvement of Upload Traffic through Negotiation in UCC Broadcasting System (P2P 기반의 UCC 방송에서 협상을 통한 업로드 트래픽의 개선)

  • Among the P2P based multimedia streaming architecture, multiple chain architecture has advantage in adapting to dynamically changing network topology simply and rapidly, so this architecture is used for UCC broadcasting system. In UCC broadcasting system, general peer involved in DSLAM becomes UCC server rather than broadcasting system that transfers data from ISP servers. Therefore UCC data generated from UCC server peers is transmitted to peers through DSLAM, and this transmission uses uplink bandwidth of DSLAM. In this paper, I propose an efficient management method of DSLAM uplink bandwidths through negotiating tracker and UCC server peer or head peers of DSLAM. I propose the method that tracker restricts a bitrate of uplink stream of UCC servers when used uplink bandwidth of DSLAM exceeds a certain point of maximum uplink bandwidths. I will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM by numerical analysis and simulation.

  • In this paper, we propose an UCC broadcasting system in P2P based IPTV environments. Proposed system applies P2P based multiple chain architecture. UCC broadcasting system transfers data from not ISP server but UCC server peer that is included in DSLAM to joined peers. Therefore an algorithm to manage join and departure of peers have to modified. In this paper we propose an algorithm that does not increase an uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server when peer joins to the UCC channel. We will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server.

UCC-Resilient HD Content Watermarking Scheme on DCT Compressed Domain (UCC 편집에 강인한 DCT 압축영역 기반 고화질 영상 워터마킹 기법)

  • We propose a novel high-definition content watermarking algorithm that is highly feasible in UCC (User Created Contents) environment. We begin by addressing an association between broadcasting content and UCC in a view of copyrights, then present watermark requirements by analyzing various UCC editing-effect. Also, we provide a brief review of previous watermarking techniques that are supposed to satisfy the requirements. Our proposed scheme inserts a invisible watermark into both DC and AC components on $8{\times}8$ block DCT domain and extracts them after synchronization using DC image. Experimental results show that our technique satisfies the requirements of invisibility and robustness to a variety of attacks such as rotation, scaling, cropping, and JPEG compression, etc. Note that the proposed scheme is highly resilient to UCC edit attacks that are combined by many different types of watermark attacks.

  • The study aims to examine the UCC (User Created Contents) Copyright which use the broadcasting contents. UCC are classified by UGC(User Generated Contents), UMC(User Modified Contents), and URC(User Recreated Contents). Especially UMC and URC correspond to a problem of copyright. Following the Copyright Protection Center investigation in 2006, it reported that 83.7% UCC are infringement of copyright. In spite of remarkable the UCC copyright problem, the concrete resolution does not exist. Also it is difficult to apply the offline legal conformity because of online nature of the UCC. The study observes the UCC copyright dispute instances which use the broadcasting contents and investigates a resolution of the UCC copyright. Considering the online media nature, it tries to analyse CCL(Creative Common License) as the ODR(online Dispute Resolution). It is meaningful to search the possibility of UCC copyright problem through the online technical embodiment.

  • 최근 인터넷에서 많은 관심을 보이고 있는 개인 미디어(UCC;User Created, Contents, VC2;Viewer Created Contents, 이하 UCC-사용자가 직접 제작한 미디어 콘텐츠를 불특정 다수에게 제공하는 서비스) 중에 비디오/오디오 콘텐츠를 영상 콘텐츠의 기본적인 매체라 할 수 있는 TV상에서 직접 즐길 수 있다면 미디어의 대상과 그 미디어의 Entertainment적인 효과는 배가될 것이다. 디지털 케이블 방송에서 UCC와 같은 다양하고 많은 미디어 콘텐츠를 디지털 TV상에서 서비스를 하고자 한다면 현재의 OCAP(OpenCable Application Plat form)기반에서는 RVOD(Real Video on Demand)와 동일한 서비스 모델을 가져야 하는 부담과 UCC 제공을 위한 방송 플랫폼별 인터페이스가 필요할 것이다. 이러한 문제점을 Return Path를 통한 RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol;RFC1889)을 이용해서 기존의 VoD(Video on Demand)스트림의 대역에서 분리하고 별도의 VOD프로토콜을 구현함으로써 라이브 방송환경과 동일한 인프라의 지속적인 확장보다는 일반적인 네트워크 프로토콜을 이용하여 VoD서비스를 위한 인프라에 많은 영향을 받지 않는 서비스가 가능할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 RTP를 위한 Set-Top-Box상의 다운로드 가능한 구조의 클래스 분석과 클라이언트 대응의 UCC Transcoding 및 전송을 위한 스트리밍 서버의 설계에 중점을 두고 경량화 된 VOD서비스 및 시스템을 설계함으로써 방송환경 하에 On-Demand서비스의 효율적인 확장성과 보다 많은 콘텐츠 등록 및 활용의 기회를 가져올 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • In this paper, on-demand service streaming protocol for user-created contents in digital cable broadcasting environment is considered. In order to provide variety media contents service like UCC in digital cable broadcasting environment, the same service model as RVOD(Real Video on Demand) is required and the different interface for each broadcasting platform is needed in a current OCAP environment. Using return path based RTP, we separate existing VOD stream band into broadcasting and VOD stream band. In order to broaden On-demand service, consistent expansion of the infrastructure same as live broadcasting system is inefficient in the digital cable broadcasting environment. Using existing network protocol, the service which is insensitive to the infrastructure for VOD service becomes possible. Therefore we considered the analysis of the class of download available structure in the Set-Top-Box for RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol) and designing the decoding available streaming server for UCC transcoding and transmission in the receiver. Designing a efficient VOD service and system under the broadcasting environment gives a expansion of On-Demand service and more chance to upload and utilization of contents.

  • The demand of digital broadcasting via networks has increased slowly in spite of the development of bidirectional broadcasting service technology and the effort of revitalization are actively performed nowadays. There are some reasons that the content differentiation is necessary. First, bidirectional digital broadcasting has no special content that attracts public attention. Second, bidirectional video content such as UCC is expected to revitalize economy due to simplification of authoring tool and user's desire to communicate interactively. So this paper proposes the data broadcasting sub-content architecture model by scenario using original data broadcasting content. At the same time, we design the content object metadata schema from the analysis of original data broadcasting content. It is restricted by 25 metadata in order to make it more smoothly working contents under the ubiquitous environment. This proposal is expected to affect the revitalization of content development and find out new sub-content model by rework original content.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the UCC (User Created Contents) communication structure in the perspective of smart-phone technologies or SNS (Social Network Service). In developing the research model, we have focused on selecting the success factors appropriate for the UCC through reviewing past researches and on developing more accurate success measures. The model consists of relation each service (Facebook linked in Flickr and so on), relation of trust, transfer to Social Capital and so on . The result shows thar process of trust based in UCC is the most important determinants of structure and organization network. And collaboration relationship is the most important of SNS used in SSO and Open-API technologies. The practice characteristic of UCC has direct and indirect effect on SNS of improving social trust.
