This research is, first of all, a theoretical study concerning 'conflict.' Only then, we could obtain ways in which we manage and resolve various problems arising from conflicts in business between Korean and Chinese companies. In doing this, we also tried to grasp cultural characteristics, or factors, in Chinese ways of carrying out negotiations that lead to conflicts with us. On the basis of these preliminary considerations, we developed practical techniques of conflict management and types of negotiation strategy. We thereby could suggest broader strategic implications for better performance in international business. Concretely, this research investigates techniques of conflict management and types of negotiation strategy. For such techniques and types, we suggest, (1) Sharing technique or reconciliatory compromising negotiation and its compromise strategy, (2) collaborative technique or cooperative negotiation and its win-win strategy, (3) competitive technique or competitive negotiation and its profit-seeking attack strategy, (4) accommodative technique or receptive negotiation and its relation-maintaining yield strategy, (5) avoidant technique or evasive negotiation and its indifference-showing avoidance strategy. This research contributes to promote understanding on negotiation culture of chinese corporate. and we provide the guideline of the conflict management and the insight for the efficiency strategy of chinese business negotiation. But, empirical data and statistical examinations should be added to our present research for the future prospective ones.
This study aims at drawing implications for Korea's urban growth management policies from U.S.A's experience on this issue. This study analyzes two types of contradictions in planning and implementing urban growth management policies: 1) value conflicts in goal setting and 2) contradictions among different level of governments (local, province, nation). As mentioned by Campbell (1996), there are three types of conflicts in objective values (efficiency, equity, and environment protection): property contradiction between economic growth and equity, resource conflict between efficiency and environment protection, and development conflict between equity and environment protection in urban growth management policies. In implementing urban growth management three types of conflicts in goal values should been taken into consideration. Contradictions among local governments, province, and central government are also found in implementing growth management policies. The lessons from the United State are as follow: 1) growth management plans are initiated by the local government and during the planning process adjacent local governments review a local government's growth management plans and give inputs for the plan, 2) local government and State work together for growth management planning and specially, the State provides technical and financial assistance to local government, and 3) the State plays leading roles in local government's planning and implementing of growth management policies with carrot and stick policy.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how the organizational structure, task group functioning and need styles have influence on the conflicts handling styles such as integrating, avoiding, dominating, obliging and compromising as the employee's personality engaged in the service industry. This study uses the hierarchical regression analysis method. Data were collected by the survey method from employees engaged in the service industry located Seoul, the Province of Gyeonggi, and the Province of Gangwon. The study result shows that to the employees with the type A style, need styles are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as avoiding. But to the employees with the type B style, need styles are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as integrating and avoiding. On the other hand the result shows that the higher the need for achievement and the lower the need for autonomy, employees with the type B style prefer integrating styles to other conflicts handling styles. Or the higher the need for dominance, employees with the type B style prefer dominating styles to other conflicts handling styles. And the higher the need for dominance, employees with the type A style prefer dominating styles to other conflicts handling styles. The study result shows that to the employees with the type A and type X style, task group functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as obliging and compromising. But to the employees with the type B style, task group functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as obliging and dominating. On the other hand the result shows that the lower faith in peers and management and the higher confidence in peers and management, employees with the type B style prefer obliging style to other conflicts handling styles. But the higher group homogeneity and group cohesiveness, the lower faith in peers and management and the higher confidence in peers and management, employees with the type X style prefer obliging style to other conflicts handling styles. And the higher confidence in peers and management, employees with the type A style prefer compromising style to other conflicts handling styles. The study result shows that to the employees with the type A, organizational structure functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as avoiding, obliging and compromising. But to the employees with the type X style, organizational structure functioning are significantly related to the conflicts handling styles such as dominating. On the other hand the result shows that the higher role conflict, the lower role ambiguity and the higher communication system, employees with the type A style prefer avoiding style to other conflicts handling styles. But the lower role ambiguity, employees with the type X style prefer compromising style to other conflicts handling styles. To conclude from these results, employees with the type A style have influence on the organizational structure functioning to other factors on the preference of the conflicts handling styles. And employees with the type B style have influence on the needs styles to other factors on the preference of the conflicts handling styles. Or employees with the type X style have influence on the task group functioning to other factors on the preference of the conflicts handling styles. Although this study provides several managerial implications, this study has some limitations. Specifically data were collected from only the service industry in Seoul, the Province of Gyeonggi, and the Province of Gangwon. In spite of the limitations, the study results could be used valuably in case of the personnel managers which manage the employees under the conflict situations.
The purpose of this study was to examine what characterized the family of origin among couples who had been married just for a few years, what types of conflicts they suffered, how they tackled their conjugal conflicts, what sorts of counseling services they needed in times of conjugal conflicts and how the characteristics of their families of origin and marital conflicts affected their needs for counseling. The findings of the study were as follows: First, regarding family rules and regulations, the biggest characteristic among the families of origin of the married couples investigated was that they were most aware of rules for living. The husbands were more conscious of them than the wives. Concerning their marital conflicts in each area, their conflicts were most triggered by their own personal characteristics, followed by communal life, a third person and their own conjugal relations. Second, as for their needs for counseling, the married couples were highly willing to ask for counseling in times of conflicting with each other. Third, concerning their perception of the rules of the family of origin, the husbands were more cognizant of then Fourth, regarding connections between needs for counseling and family rules, the group whose family of origin placed stronger emphasis on rules for living felt the higher needs for counseling. It's attempted in this study to provide information about counseling for married couples, on which few domestic studies have ever focused so far, and the effort to take a micro approach toward the counseling needs of married couples made it clear that their counseling needs might be different according to their family background variables and their own marital conflicts.
In this study, we classified and analyzed the type and cause of resident conflicts and made a solution at side of resident through resident survey study for research subjects located at photovoltaic system will be installed or not. The factors of resident conflicts based on news media release from 2006 to 2018 were classified to four types such as economic, environmental, technological and procedural factors. According to the news analysis, the types and proportion of resident conflicts in the photovoltaic system projects showed 33% of economic factors, 32% of environmental factor, 21% of technological factor and 14% of procedural factor. This news analysis may suggest that it is very important residents to share the economic benefits as well as to ensure the fairness of the procedures for carrying out the project based on transparent information disclosure during the business promotion and profit distribution stages. We conducted the poll survey in the rural towns where photovoltaic system will be installed or not. The poll survey results showed that (i) there is quite difference in agreement rate and other recognition for sensitive matters such as profit distribution, environmental and technological factors whether photovoltaic system will be installed or not, (ii) the resident conflict regarding the photovoltaic system installation can reduce through direct involvement of residents process. To solve these resident conflicts, the local governments should mainly effort and consider the supporting technologies and consults to solve clearly resident conflicts. In addition, it has to advertise the safety of photovoltaic systems regarding electromagnetic wave which were within the range of scientifically harmless to the human body.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of elementary school students' prediction changes by the suggestion types in a multiple anomalous situation. We investigated the responses, the rate and time of changing prediction, and cognitive conflicts of the students when repeated anomalous situation was suggested in experimental or logical way in science classes focused on buoyancy. As the anomalous situation was repeated, the students to change the prediction increased in number and also the rates to choose the correct prediction became higher. The group who was exposed in experimental way changed their prediction more than in logical way. In addition, when we classified the students to change the prediction by types, the group in experimental way showed higher rate of NM, MM type and FFT type. With anomalous situation repeated, cognitive conflicts of the students has been gradually declining in both groups. But it seemed that the group in experimental way experienced higher mental conflicts. In particular, as students changed the prediction more and arrived at the correct answer after changing their prediction, all the more so. It is concluded that the degree of students' changing prediction and experiencing cognitive conflict can be different according to the suggestion types for situation. Therefore the correlation with cognitive conflict factors can be also observed with the types of students' reactions.
We study how an advantage given to an interim winner in sequential conflicts characterizes dynamic competition between players and influences their payoffs. As the intensity of competition during each period is negatively correlated, perfect security is not necessarily desirable for contending parties. We present results which are widely applicable to various types of dynamic competition, where competition in each period is linked to the interim winner's relative advantage. Policy implications are also discussed in a variety of areas, and several extensions are explored.
Twenty-one adoptive parents participated in this study on adoption-related conflicts perceived by adoptive parents in open adoption. Q-methodology, which provides understanding of individual attitudes and experiences, identified three types of conflict. Type 1 experienced a great deal of conflict and concern prior to the adoption decision; they also faced difficulties stemming from lack of information about parenting an adopted child and institutional inertia. For type 2, the major factors of conflict were discord among siblings, negative bias against adoption in the community, and insufficient national assistance. Type 3 reported that they feel concerned for their adopted-child's developmental and psychological wellbeing they worried that adoption status might lead to behavioral and attitudinal problems in their adopted-child during youth and young adulthood.

Man's role type is composed of man's sex role attitude and family-role performance and categorized in four types such as traditionalism type neo-traditionalism type equalitarianism type and inconsistancy type. A ner general multi-layer area router, called DINOSAUR, is presented in this paper. DINOSAUR can route various types of routing areas, such as L-shaped channel, switchbox with/without obstacles, and rectilinear area with/without internal modules/terminals. The DINOSAUR algorithm consists of three major stages: layerless maze routing, layering by coloring, and rip-up and reroute. In layerless maze roution stage, the route of each net is determined by modified maze algorithm without taking the conflicts(short. circuits) into account. In layering by coloring stage, the layer of each net is determinde by a heuristic coloring algorithm. When the conflicts are not removed, rip-up and reroute process is invoded. In rip-up and reroute stage, the conflicts are removed iteratively. Many test cases have been run, and on all the benchmark data known in the literature DINOSAUR has performed either better than or comparable to the other routers.
