  • Data on age and body weight at breeding, parity, previous litter size, days open and some descriptive body linear traits from 389 meat-type, prolific Black Bengal goats in Tripura State of India, were collected for 3 and 1/2 years (2007 to 2010) and analyzed using logistic regression model. The objectives of the study were i) to evaluate the effect of age and body weight at breeding, parity, previous litter size and days open on litter size of does; and ii) to investigate if body linear type traits influenced litter size in meat-type, prolific goats. The incidence of 68.39% multiple births with a prolificacy rate of 175.07% was recorded. Higher age (>2.69 year), higher parity order (>2.31), more body weight at breeding (>20.5 kg) and larger previous litter size (>1.65) showed an increase likelihood of multiple litter size when compared to single litter size. There was a strong, positive relationship between litter size and various body linear type traits like neck length (>22.78 cm), body length (>54.86 cm), withers height (>48.85 cm), croup height (>50.67 cm), distance between tuber coxae bones (>11.38 cm) and distance between tuber ischii bones (>4.56 cm) for discriminating the goats bearing multiple fetuses from those bearing a single fetus.

  • The purpose of this study was to offer body suit sizing system for young women aged 18-24. Many anthropometric measurements and other related data form 418 subjects were analyzed by various statistical methods. As a result of cluster analysis, we categorized somatotypes into 3 types: H-type, A-type, N-type as the most common. Subjects was covered 86.5% by KS body suit sizing system and 33.2% by body suit company. So we considered to produce AAA, AA cup size and small size body suit for raising the coverage. As size distribution by cluster analysis, H-type was mainly distributed ${70{\sim}85(AAA{\sim}D)}$ and M, L's hip size. A-type was mostly was ranged ${70{\sim}85(A{\sim}C)}$ and S, M size. N-type was widely showed ${65{\sim}85(AAA{\sim}I)}$ and S, M, L's hip size. Accordingly, it is reasonable to consider size distribution and physical characteristics by these figure types when suggesting sizing system as well as design and production.

  • The aim of this study is to develop clothing size system according to each size interval for obese girls aged 10~12 by classifying the upper bodies. The criteria for subjects in this study were girls who had over 1.46 of the R$\ddot{o}$hrer Index. A total of 229 schoolgirls who met these criteria were enrolled. Results are as follows; 1st, 5 factors were extracted by factor analysis and 3 clusters were categorized by cluster analysis, cylinder-type, inverted triangle-type and inverted trapezoid-type. And 2nd, as a consequence of size system establishment, the basic body sizes and reference body sizes were different according to types even in commonly-appeared size names at sections of respective types. The research findings above suggest that it is necessary to figure out the obesity types according to height and bust girth sizes representing basic sizes and to design the patterns in consideration of the characteristics of obese body shapes. And it may be used as a basic data to decide the desirable output of production according to respective body types.

  • The purpose of this study Is to classify foot types of elderly women and young women and to suggest shoes size system by foot types for elderly women. The subjects were 321 elderly women and 181 young women. Their right feet were measured directly and indirectly by using scanner and digital camera. The anthropometric measurements were composed of 62 items. They were measured during the months of July and October in 2001 and November in 2002 The results and discussions of this study are as follows. First, in analyzing shape of the foot of elderly and young women, the shapes of foot were classified as N-type (high and narrow foot shape and wide toes), W-type (wider width for its length and severe alteration), L-type (low foot shape as oval). Second, the most characteristic foot type in elderly women was W-type. In this type, the width was wider for its length, the first metatarsophalangeal protrusion was severe and the toes were gathered at the center. On the other hand, young women belonged to N-type. Third, we suggested new size system of shoes for elderly women and the standard foot shape each type. The size system was based on foot length and foot types. Hopefully, understanding the shapes of foot and characteristics of each foot type will help to develop suitable shoes for elderly women.

  • Three kinds of tight skirts, slim type, straight type, and semi-tight type were investigated to obtain necessary information about the size of the back slit. Fourteen college students put on these experimental clothes and walked on the flat floor, going up and down the stairs. The dimensions of the back slit were measured by width and length. The stride length was taken from the record of footprints of walking. The correlation between the body measurement, stride length and the size of the back slit was studied. As a result of this experiment, the findings are as follows: 1. The size of the back slits differed from each skirt type at the level of p<0.001. In the case of walking on the floor, the average dimension of the back slit was 14.0 cm long 5.0 cm wide for the slim type,9.5 cm long 2.8 cm wide for the straight type and 2.1 cm long 0.5 cm wide for the semi-tight type. 2. In the case of walking on the stairways, the average dimension of the back slit was 16.0 cm long 5.8 cm wide for the slim type, 12.4 cm long 3.9 cm wide for the straight type and 3.1 cm long 1.1 cm wide for the semi-tight type. 3. The correlation between the height (stature, waist height, knee height) and the size of back slit was 0.3 to 0.6. The correlation between the girth (waist, hip) and the size of back slit was 0.3 to -0.5. 4. The correlation between the stride length and the size of back slit was 0.76 for the slim skirt, 0.56 for the straight skirt, 0.28 for the semitight skirt.
