Low back pain is a common phenomenon among the golfers. In an attempt to understand low back pain, the kinematic changes and golf swing motion analysis has been performed to focus on lumbar spine in pro. golfers. According to the swing pattern, significant variations of the lumbar joint forces and loads has related with muscles activities so the motion analysis of lumbar spine were discussed. The purpose of this study was to analyze motion of lumbar spine and it was to compare joint force during golf swing in pro. golfers. The swing motion of the subjects was tracked using a 3D motion analysis system by Motion Analysis Ltd. and SIMM software. The angle changes of lumbar spine rapidly in vx direction during the top back swing and the finish and in vy direction during the follow through and in vz direction during the down swing and the impact(Subject A). The angle changes of lumbar spine rapidly in vx direction during the top back swing and in vy direction during the down swing, the impact and the follow through and in vz direction during the down swing(Subject B). In conclusion, subject A and B both show sudden angle changes between 1st-3rd lumbar spine and 4th-5th lumbar spine during the stage from address to top back swing which caused by over upper body twisting.
This study was attempted to kinematical characteristics of the El-grip swing with 1turn to el-grip in elite horizontal bar for the purpose of improving performance. The subjects were three males who were 2002 Busan Asian Games in men's team. The three dimensional motion analysis with DLT method was executed using three video cameras of analyzing the actual competition situation. In point of analyzing the actual competition situation, it is expected that gymnastics and coaches have the effective informations, and the following conclusion had resulted. 1. In case of release, It is impotant to make fast horizontal velocity of CM, high vertical position of CM, large hip and shoulder angle. Also It should be performed release motion of trunk rotation angle(+). 2. During LHR the action should be made at higher position than the CM and the shoulder joint is moving within $127{\pm}16.82$. It is important to make large lunk rotation angle. 3. During Hop, the RHR motion should be done in high position with short time and fast twisting action and to reduce the vertical speed is important.
Reduced beam section (RBS) moment resisting connections are among the most economical and practical rigid steel connections developed in the aftermath of the 1994 Northridge and the 1995 Kobe earthquakes. Although the performance of RBS connection has been widely studied, this connection has not been subject to in the skewed conditions. In this study, the seismic performance of dogbone connection was investigated at different angles. The Commercial ABAQUS software was used to simulate the samples. The numerical results are first compared with experimental results to verify the accuracy. Nonlinear static analysis with von Mises yield criterion materials and the finite elements method were used to analyze the behavior of the samples The selected Hardening Strain of materials at cyclic loading and monotonic loading were kinematics and isotropic respectively The results show that in addition to reverse twisting of columns, change in beam angle relative to the central axis of the column has little impact on hysteresis response of samples. Any increase in the angle, leads to increased non-elastic resistance. As for Weak panel zone, with increase of the angle between the beam and the column, the initial submission will take place at a later time and at a larger rotation angle in the panel zone and this represents reduced amount of perpendicular force exerted on the column flange. In balanced and strong panel zones, with increase in the angle between the beam and the central axis of the column, the reduced beam section (RBS), reaches the failure limit faster and at a lower rotation angle. In connection of skewed beam, balanced panel zone, due to its good performance in disposition of plasticity process away from connection points and high energy absorption, is the best choice for panel zone. The ratio of maximum moment developed on the column was found to be within 0.84 to 1 plastic anchor point, which shows prevention of brittle fracture in connections.
This study investigates the kinetic characteristics of the Driggs motion in horse vaulting by stages through the three-dimensional video analysis of YTY and TABARA who won a high score and a low score respectively from the Driggs motion in horse vaulting during the Daegu Universiade 2003, which involves putting one's hands on the horse vaulting rotating sideways, stretching and rotating backward in the air, and twisting 900 degrees, so as to help develop the techniques of Korean gymnastic athletes. From the analyses of the duration of body center, horizontality, vertical position and horizontality, vertical speed and angle factors for each of four phases from the contact of the board to the takeoff from the horse vaulting. I arrived at the following conclusions: 1. It was found that the motion of bending oneself forward while rapidly stretching the knee joint when taking off from the board increases the horizontal speed of body center and shortens the time of the first jump. 2. It was found that S1 who won a high score shortened the time of the contact and takeoff from the horse vaulting and enlarged the shoulder joint angle for full blocking motion. It was also found that horizontal speed decreased while vertical speed increased when you rapidly stretch the right elbow joint while taking off from the horse vaulting. 3. It was found that horizontal distance was shortened to increase the height and time of staying in the air during the second jump.
According to deformation features of pre-twisted bar, its elastic bending and torsion buckling equation is developed in the paper. The equation indicates that the bending buckling deformations in two main bending directions are coupled with each other, bending and twist buckling deformations are coupled with each other as well. However, for pre-twisted bar with dual-axis symmetry cross-section, bending buckling deformations are independent to the twist buckling deformation. The research indicates that the elastic torsion buckling load is not related to the pre-twisted angle, and equals to the torsion buckling load of the straight bar. Finite element analysis to pre-twisted bar with different pre-twisted angle is performed, the prediction shows that the assumption of a plane elastic bending buckling deformation curve proposed in previous literature (Shadnam and Abbasnia 2002) may not be accurate, and the curve deviates more from a plane with increasing of the pre-twisting angle. Finally, the parameters analysis is carried out to obtain the relationships between elastic bending buckling critical capacity, the effect of different pre-twisted angles and bending rigidity ratios are studied. The numerical results show that the existence of the pre-twisted angle leads to "resistance" effect of the stronger axis on buckling deformation, and enhances the elastic bending buckling critical capacity. It is noted that the "resistance" is getting stronger and the elastic buckling capacity is higher as the cross section bending rigidity ratio increases.
The current study focused on the effect of twisting hollow fibers (HFs) in a module during forward osmosis operation mode. Computational fluid dynamics simulation was employed for a straight HF module and twisted modules with five different angles to predict the mass transfer and observe the draw solution profile in terms of concentration and pressure. The simulation results showed that when the membranes were twisted, the concentration was distributed more evenly and the pressure at the module outlet increased gradually as the twisting angle increased. As pressure at the outlet increased, the fluid velocity inside the membrane decreased and the residence time of fluid increased, thereby facilitating mass exchange across the membrane. This is evidenced by a doubling of the ratio of water flux through the membrane in module flux when the HFs were twisted.

With regard to complex-shaped tall buildings whose plans and constructions have been gradually on the increase, this study was aimed to analyze their structural behaviors during construction by applications of construction sequences analyses to prototype models. For twisted tall buildings, total 18 models of with three conditions of a lateral load-resisting system, a twisting angle, and a construction method were selected. A diagrid system and a braced tube system were applied as a lateral load-resisting system. For each lateral load-resisting system, three types of plan with $0^{\circ}$, $1^{\circ}$, and $2^{\circ}$ twisting angles and three construction methods with construction sequences of exterior tube and interior frame were assumed. The structural performances of tall buildings under constructions were analyzed with results of lateral displacements from construction sequence analyses. Also, construction performances of the construction period and the maximum lift weight were compared.
Graphene is one of the strongest, stiffest, and lightest nanoscale materials known to date, making it a potentially viable and attractive candidate for developing lightweight structural composites to prevent high-velocity ballistic impact, as commonly encountered in defense and space sectors. In-plane twist in bilayer graphene has recently revealed unprecedented electronic properties like superconductivity, which has now started attracting the attention for other multi-physical properties of such twisted structures. For example, the latest studies show that twisting can enhance the strength and stiffness of graphene by many folds, which in turn creates a strong rationale for their prospective exploitation in high-velocity impact. The present article investigates the ballistic performance of twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG) nanostructures. We have employed molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, augmented further by coupling gaussian process-based machine learning, for the nanoscale characterization of various tBLG structures with varying relative rotation angle (RRA). Spherical diamond impactors (with a diameter of 25Å) are enforced with high initial velocity (Vi) in the range of 1 km/s to 6.5 km/s to observe the ballistic performance of tBLG nanostructures. The specific penetration energy (Ep*) of the impacted nanostructures and residual velocity (Vr) of the impactor are considered as the quantities of interest, wherein the effect of stochastic system parameters is computationally captured based on an efficient Gaussian process regression (GPR) based Monte Carlo simulation approach. A data-driven sensitivity analysis is carried out to quantify the relative importance of different critical system parameters. As an integral part of this study, we have deterministically investigated the resonant behaviour of graphene nanostructures, wherein the high-velocity impact is used as the initial actuation mechanism. The comprehensive dynamic investigation of bilayer graphene under the ballistic impact, as presented in this paper including the effect of twisting and random disorder for their prospective exploitation, would lead to the development of improved impact-resistant lightweight materials.

Lateral buckling behavior of laminated composite thin-walled I-section beams subjected to bending moment is investigated by applying the nonlinear anisotropic thin-walled beam theory. The constituent laminated thin-walled elements of I-section are assumed to be symmetrically laminated. The bending, twisting, and warping stiffnesses of the cross section are obtained based on the definitions of these stiffnesses In the thin-walled anisotropic beam theory In numerical examples, singly-symmetric I-beams with specially orthotropic, quasi-isotropic, angle-plys and various boundary conditions are considered. To validate the proposed theoretical approach, present analytical solutions are compared with three dimensional finite element solutions.
PET POY(pre-oriented-yam) were treated by false twister to high bulky. False twister have many processing parameters velocity ratio(VR), belt cross angle$(\theta)$, 1st heater temp. and K(twisting tension/untwisting tension). we analyzed the effect of properties of textured polyester yam on processing condition. Initial modulus, thermal stress, No. of snarl is decreased by 1st heater. In VR=1.97, Dry and wet shrinkage is increased but is decreased by 1st heater in VR=1.564. K/S and cristallinity tend to increase by decreasing VR.
