음향방출법을 이용한 굽힘피로 손상된 소켓용접배관의 진단 및 감시 (Diagnosis and Monitoring of Socket Welded Pipe Damaged by Bending Fatigue Using Acoustic Emission Technique)

  • 소구경 배관 소켓 용접부의 고주기 피로특성윽 평가하고 피로 균열의 발생을 음향방출법을 이용하여 실시간 모니터링 하였다. 스테인리스 316L강 시험편은 가스텅스텐아크용접 공정으로 루트부에 결함이 없는 시험편과 용입불량 결함이 있는 시험편으로 준비하였다. 피로파단은 고응력 일때는 토우부, 상대적으로 저응력일 때는 루트부에서 일어났다. 피로시험동안 음향방출 카운트가 급격히 증가하는 시점을 균열의 발생 싸이클 ($N_i$)로 정의하였고 방사선투과법과 전자현미경을 이용하여 피로균열 생성 싸이클 전과 후에서 균열을 확인하였다. 소켓용접배관의 굽힘피로 손상 진단 및 감시를 위해 균열의 존재와 파괴모드 그리고 균열의 발생 싸이클에 관한 연구를 수행하였다.

Effect of Cl2 on Electrodeposition Behavior in Electrowinning Process

  • Pyroprocessing at KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) consists of pretreatment, electroreduction, electrorefining and electrowinning. SFR (Sodium Fast Reactor) fuel is prepared from the electrowinning process which is composed of LCC (Liquid Cadmium Process) and Cd distillation et al. LCC is an electrochemical process to obtain actinides from spent fuel. In order to recover actinides inert anodes such as carbon material are used, where chlorine gas ($Cl_2$) evolves on the surface of the carbon material. And, stainless steel (SUS) crucible should be installed in large-scale electrowinning system. Therefore, the effect of chlorine on the SUS material needs to be studied. LiCl-KCl-$UCl_3$-$NdCl_3$-$CeCl_3$-$LaCl_3$-$YCl_3$ salt was contained in 2 kinds of electrolytic crucible having an inner diameter of 5cm, made of an insulated alumina and an SUS, respectively. And, three kinds of electrodes such as cathode, anode, reference were used for the electrochemical experiments. Both solid tungsten (W) and LCC were used as cathodes. Cd of 45 g as the cathode material was contained in alumina crucibles for the deposition experiments, where the crucible has an inner diameter of 3 cm. Glassy carbon rod with the diameter of 0.3 cm was employed as an anode, where shroud was not used for the anode. A pyrex tube containing LiCl-KCl-1mol% AgCl and silver (Ag) wire having a diameter of 0.1cm was used as a reference electrode. Electrodeposition experiments were conducted at $500^{\circ}C$ at the current densities of $50{\sim}100mA/cm^2$. In conclusion, Fe ions were produced in the salt during the electrodeposition by the reaction of chlorine evolved from the anode and Fe of the SUS crucible and thereby LCC system using SUS crucible showed very low current efficiencies compared with the system using the insulated alumina crucible. Anode shroud needs to be installed around the glassy carbon not to influence surrounding SUS material.

이송식 아크플라즈마 장치에 의해 제조된 실리콘 나노분말의 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Silicon Nanopowders Produced by Transferred Type Arc Plasma Apparatus)

  • This study was carried out experimentally on the production and properties of silicon nanopowders characteristics using a transferred type arc plasma apparatus. To investigate the properties of silicon nanopowder, the purity of argon gas(99.999%, 99.9%) and the partial pressure ratio of nitrogen gas(0~90%) were varied. The total pressure in chamber is 400Torr and the silicon chunk amount used as raw material is 300g. The power supplied to the cathode to generate arc plasma was 9~12kW/h, and the electrode was made of tungsten and graphite with a diameter of 13mm. The particle size, impurity elements and powder evaporation rate of the silicon powder were analyzed using the XRD, FE-SEM, TEM and electronic scale. According to the purity of argon gas, the silicon evaporation rate and the particle size were similar, and impurities were generated more in the case of 99.9% purity than 99.999%. When argon gas and nitrogen gas were mixed in the chamber, the silicon evaporation rate and particle size increased as the partial pressure ratio of nitrogen gas increased. In particular, when the partial pressure ratio of nitrogen gas was 80%, the silicon evaporation rate 80g/h, and the particle size was about 80~100nm.

증착 후 전자빔 조사에 따른 IWO 박막의 전기적, 광학적 특성 개선 효과 (Enhanced Electrical and Optical Properties of IWO Thin Films by Post-deposition Electron Beam Irradiation)

  • Transparent and conducting tungsten (W) doped indium oxide (IWO) thin films were deposited on the glass substrate by using RF magnetron sputtering and then electron irradiation was conducted to investigate the effect of electron irradiation on the optical and electrical properties of the films. The electron irradiated films showed three x-ray diffraction peaks of the In2O3 (222), (431) and (046) planes and the full width at half maximum values are decreased as increased electron irradiation energy. In the atomic force microscope analysis, the surface roughness of as deposited films was 1.70 nm, while the films electron irradiated at 700 eV, show a lower roughness of 1.28 nm. In this study, the figure of merit (FOM) of as deposited films is 2.07 × 10-3-1, while the films electron irradiated at 700 eV show the higher FOM value of 5.53 × 10-3-1. Thus, it is concluded that the post-deposition electron beam irradiation is the one of effective methods to enhance optical and electrical performance of IWO thin films.

비철금속(非鐵金屬)의 생산(生産), 소비(消費), 시세(時勢)의 추이(推移) (The Transition of Production, Consumption and Price of Non-ferrous Metals)

  • In considering the mining industry, it is necessary to study the production, consumption and price of ore and metals in every country of the world in order to determine the trend of the industry in the present and for the future. This study is necessary especially for exporting domestically produced are which is in excess of domestic consumption and for importing are, or metal where local production does not meet domestic demand. It will be treated of Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Zn, W, Mo, which are the most important non-ferrous metals, and which greatly affect the mining industry of Korea. The presentation will concern itself only with the free world. About 1, 200 ton of gold are produced annually with little fluctiation in recent years. Most of the gold produced is consumed by advanced countries for industrial uses as well as for producing precious objects. The U.S.A. expends yearly about four times its domestic production and Japan about three times its domestic production for industry and arts. Because of the instability of the currency of the U.S.A., England and France, recently, the price of gold has been $ 41-42 per ounce, whereas the official price is $35.00 per ounce. It will be expected that the official price will be raised in the near future. As for silver, about 6,500 tons are produced annually with no special fluctuation change in recent years. However, the annual consumption is about 14,000 ton, so the supply and demand is extremely unbalanced. The shortage is made up by the sale of the U.S. treasury's reserve stock and the reclaiminig of silver from coins and other scrap. As the Treasury'S reserves will be exhausted in a year or two, the price of silver which is $1. 64 per ounce, will go up drastically in about a year. As for copper, 5,257,000 ton's were mined in 1966. It's production is being increased about 5% annually. However, consumption exceeds production by about 100,000 ton a year. The recent Foreign refinery copper price in the U.S.A is $ 60 per pound. The supply of copper being insufficient to meet international demands, the price will go up and with no prospect of being lowered in the near future even with the slight annual increase in production. About 2,100,000 to 2,200,000 tons of lead are produced annually. Consumption exceeds production by about 50,000-60,000 tons annually. The current price of lead in New York is $ 155 per pound. As the supply of lead is internationally stable, It will be believed that there will be no significant change in its price in the near future. In 1967, 3,926,000 tons of Zinc were produced. There is annual increase of 4-7% in production. The annual consumption exceeds production by 100,000 to 200,000 tons. The current zinc price in the St. Louis market inthe U.S.A. is $ 145 per pound. Even though its supply is stable and sufficient world wide, the consumption rate will increase at a faster pace than before; hence, the price will slowly go up. Tungsten mines yield about 11,000 tons a year. Its production has been relatively constant in the past few years. The amount of its consumption increases slowly world wide, but in the free world· there has been a slight annual decrease. However, since Red China has not been exporting their tungsten to other countries for several months, the price on the London market of S.T.U. of $Wo_3$ has increased to $ 44~46. Should Red China begin to export actively again the price will drop to $ 40~42. In 1967, 56,000 tons of Molybdenum were produced. Production exceeds consumption by 200,000 -30,000 tons annually. The current price in the U.S.A. is $ 1.72 per Mo pound. Since the rate of production in the U.S.A. is on the increase with large amounts of ore reserve, the price of molubdenum should not go up.

증착 조건이 KLN 박막의 형상에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Deposition Parameters on the Morphology of KLN Thin Films)

  • 본 실험에서는 $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si(100)$ 기판 위에 KLN 박막을 형성할 때 나타나는 4-fold 그레인의 성장 특성을 조사하기 위하여 공정 변수를 변화시키면서 박막을 제작하였다. 공정 변수는 기판 온도, 스퍼터링 압력, 고주파 전력을 선택하여 최적의 증착 조건 근방에서 공정 변수를 변화시키면서 실험하였다. K와 Li가 과량된 타겟을 사용하여 KLN 박막을 제조할 때 최적의 성장 조건은 고주파 전력 100 W, 공정압력 150 mTorr, 기판온도 $600^{\circ}C$이며 공정변수의 작은 변화에도 박막의 표면 형상은 매우 민감하게 변화하였다. KLN은 화합물을 구성하는 원소 사이의 증기화 온도의 차이가 많이나는 물질로서 고온 고진공의 환경에서 박막을 제조할 때 어려움이 있으며, 녹는점과 기판 온도와의 관계를 설명한 Thornton의 모델로 설명하기 어려운 현상이 나타났다. 이러한 것은 박막 물질을 이루는 구성 원소의 증기화 온도를 이용하여 이 현상을 간단하게 설명할 수 있었다.

리노미터를 이용한 할로겐 가시광선 광조사기와 플라즈마 아크 광조사기의 복합레진 및 컴포머의 광중합 양상 비교 (COMPARISON OF LINEAR POLYMERIZATION SHRINKAGE IN COMPOSITES AND COMPOMER POLYMERIZED BY PLASMA ARC OR CONVENTIONAL VISIBLE LIGHT CURING)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of plasma arc curing (PAC) unit for composite and compomer curing. To compare its effectiveness with conventional quartz tungsten halogen (QTH) light curing unit, the polymerization shrinkage rates and amounts of three composites (Z100, Z250, Synergy Duo Shade) and one compomer, that had been light cured by PAC unit or QTH unit, was compared using a custome made linometer. The measurement of polymerization shrinkage was peformed after polymerization with either QTH unit or PAC unit. In case of curing with the PAC unit, the composite was light cured with Apollo 95E for 6s, the power density of which was recorded as 1350 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$ by Coltolux Light Meter. For light curing with QTH unit, the composite was light cured for 30s with the XL2500, the power density of which was recorded as 800 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$ by Coltolux Light Meter. The amount of linear polymerization shrinkage was recorded in the computer every 0.5s for 60s. Ten measurements were made for each material. The amount of linear polymerization shrinkage for each material in 10s and 60s which were cured with PAC or QTH unit were compared with t test. The amount of polymerization shrinkage in the tested materials were compared with 1way ANOVA with Duncan's multiple range test. As for the amounts of polymerization shrinkage in 60s, there was no difference between PAC unit and QTH unit in Z250 and Synergy Duo Shade. In Z100 and Dyract AP, it was lower when it was cured with PAC unit than when it was cured with QTH unit (p<0.05). As for the amounts of polymerization shrinkage in 10s, there was no difference between PAC unit and QTH unit in Z100 and Dyract AP. The amounts of polymerization shrinkage was significantly higher when it was cured with PAC unit in Z250 and Synergy Duo Shade (p<0.05). The amounts of polymerization shrinkage in the tested materials when they were cured with QTH unit were Z250 (6.6um) < Z100 (9.3um), Dyract AP (9.7um) < Synergy Duo Shade (11.2um) (p<0.05). The amount of polymerization shrinkage when the materials were cured with PAC unit were Dyract AP (5.6um) < Z100 (8.1um), Z250(7.0um) < Synergy Duo Shade (11.2um) (p<0.05).

태백산-황강리 광화대 금속광산의 전략금속광종 재평가 (Revaluation of Strategic Metallic Commodities in the Metallic Mines within Taebaeksan-Hwanggangri Metallogenic Belt)

  • 태백산-황강리광화대내 34개 광산의 광석을 대상으로 8개 전략광물자원(Pb, Zn, Cu, Fe, Mo, W Au, U)의 함량을 분석하여 광종별 예비개발타당성을 추정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 동의 경우, 상동광산은 23%의 동(한계품위=0.7%)을 함유하는 것으로 나타났으며, 아연의 경우, 청일광산과 삼황학광산은 평균 5%의 아연(한계품위=2.0%)을 함유하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 상기 광산들에 대해서는 추가정밀조사가 요구된다. 또한, 몰리브덴의 경우(한계품위=0.02%), 제2연화(0.04%) 및 홍천광산(0.02%), 연의 경우(한계품위=0.58%), 원가사 광산(0.70%), 금의 경우(한계품위=10ppm), 동명(279ppm)및 삼황학광산(251ppm)에서, 각각 해당광종에 대한 국제가격추이에 맞추어 탄력적으로 재가행 여부에 대한 평가가 요구된다. 반면, 우라늄, 철, 텅스텐의 경우, 본 연구결과 경제적으로 개발할 가치가 있는 광산이 없는 것으로 사료된다.

MCNP6 코드를 이용한 컨테이너 보안 검색용 전자 선형가속기 표적과 조준기에서 발생한 광중성자 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Photoneutron Characteristics Generated from Target and Collimator of Electron Linear Accelerator for Container Security Inspection using MCNP6 Code)

  • 본 연구 목적은 선형가속기 표적(Target) 및 조준기(Collimator)에서 발생한 광중성자 특성을 평가하는 것이다. 전산모사 설계는 첫째, 표적은 단일물질 표적과 복합물질 표적으로 구성하였다. 둘째, 조준기 종류에 따라 원뿔형(Cone beam) 조준기와 부채꼴(Fan beam) 조준기로 구성하였다. 셋째, 부채꼴 조준기의 물질을 납(Pb)으로만 구성된 단일물질과 텅스텐(W)과 납으로 구성된 복합물질 조준기로 구성하였다. 연구 방법은 표적으로부터 100 cm 거리에서 가상의 구(Sphere) 표면에서 F2 Tally를 이용하여 광중성자 발생률과 에너지 스펙트럼을 계산하였다. 그 결과 광중성자 발생률은 첫째, 표적에 따라서는 20% 차이가 발생하였다. 둘째, 조준기의 종류에 따라서는 10% 차이가 발생하였다. 셋째, 조준기 물질에 따라서는 40% 차이가 발생하였다. 광중성자 스펙트럼에서도 평균 광중성자 플럭스(Flux)가 광중성자 발생량과 유사한 경향으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로 9 MeV 선형가속기 광중성자 발생은 표적보다는 조준기에 의해 광중성자 발생이 증가하며, 조준기의 종류보다는 물질에 영향을 더 크게 받는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 광중성자 발생이 적은 표적 및 조준기를 선택하여 운영하는 것이 가장 적극적인 방사선 방호가 될 것이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 컨테이너 보안 검색용 선형가속기 도입 및 운영 그리고 방사선 방호에 유용한 자료가 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

그래핀 기반 광촉매 담지 세라믹필터에서 질소산화물(NOx)의 제거 (Removal of NOx from Graphene based Photocatalyst Ceramic Filter)

  • V2O5-WO3-TiO2 촉매를 담지하여 그래핀(graphene) 기반 세라믹필터를 제조하였으며, 이를 활용하여 질소산화물(NOx)의 제거실험을 수행하였다. 산화그래핀(graphene oxide, GO)은 흑연(graphite)을 이용하여 Hummer's method에 의해 제조하였고 환원제로 히드라진(N2H4)을 통해 환원 산화그래핀(reduced graphene oxide, rGO)을 제조하였다. 제조된 그래핀을 세라믹필터 표면에 유-무기 하이브리드 원리를 이용하여 코팅하였으며, 여기에 광촉매물질을 담지하였다. 광촉매물질은 바나듐(V), 텅스텐(W), 티타늄(Ti)를 사용하여 sol-gel법에 의해 코팅 후 350 ℃ 소성 공정을 통하여 광촉매담지 세라믹필터를 제조하였다. UV광을 제조된 필터에 조사하여 NOx의 제거 실험을 수행하였으며, NOx의 제거 효율은 기존의 세라믹필터보다 GO 및 rGO가 코팅된 경우가 우수하였다. 이는 코팅된 그래핀에 의한 흡착성의 향상 때문으로 판단되며, 그래핀의 농도가 증가함에 따라 보다 높은 NOx의 제거효율을 확인하였다.
