The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of obesity and to examine the eating habits of elementary school students in Kwangju. The study was carried out on 931 students(male : 454, female : 477) in September and October of 1996. The results are summarized as follows ; Obesity was defined as body mass index(BMI) that exceeds 20. The rate of obesity was 10.0%(male 4.7$\%$, female 5.3$\%$) in subjects. Subjects were divided into 3 groups : normal group(BMI〈20), mildly obese group(20〈BMI〈25), and moderatly obese group(25〈BMI〈30), respectively. With regard to frequency of skipping breakfast, 9.1$\%$ of normal children and 17.5$\%$ of mildly obese children and 33.3$\%$ of moderately obese children had skipping every morning(p$\ll$0.001). With regard to the regularity of meal time, 62.1$\%$ of normal children had ‘regular meals’but 58.0$\%$ of mild obese children and 50.0$\%$ of moderate obese children had‘irregular meals’(p$\ll$0.05). With regard to meal volume, obese children consumed much more meal volume than normal children(breakfast p$\ll$0.001, lunch p〈0.005, dinner p$\ll$0.001). With regard to try to lose weight, 22.9$\%$ of normal children and 55.6$\%$ of mild obese children and 83.3$\%$ of moderated obese children indicated they had attempted(p$\ll$0.001). The results of this study showed that the prevalence of obesity in elementary school students in Kwangju has a tendency to be increased. Obese children need to correct their eating habits. This reasserts the importance of nutrition education in children through teachers, parents and dietitians. The findings of this study should be applied to nutrition education to ensure better physical fitness of children. (Korean J Community Nutrition 2(4) : 486-495, 1997)

Amorphous transparent oxide semiconductors (a-TOS) have been widely studied for many optoelectronic devices such as AM-OLED (active-matrix organic light emitting diodes). Recently, Nomura et al. demonstrated high performance amorphous IGZO (In-Ga-Zn-O) TFTs.1 Despite the amorphous structure, due to the conduction band minimum (CBM) that made of spherically extended s-orbitals of the constituent metals, an a-IGZO TFT shows high mobility.2,3 But IGZO films contain high cost rare metals. Therefore, we need to investigate the alternatives. Because Aluminum has a high bond enthalpy with oxygen atom and Alumina has a high lattice energy, we try to replace Gallium with Aluminum that is high reserve low cost material. In this study, we focused on the electrical properties of IZO:Al thin films as a channel layer of TFTs. IZO:Al were deposited on unheated non-alkali glass substrates (5 cm ${\times}$ 5 cm) by magnetron co-sputtering system with two cathodes equipped with IZO target and Al target, respectively. The sintered ceramic IZO disc (3 inch ${\phi}$, 5 mm t) and metal Al target (3 inch ${\phi}$, 5 mm t) are used for deposition. The O2 gas was used as the reactive gas to control carrier concentration and mobility. Deposition was carried out under various sputtering conditions to investigate the effect of sputtering process on the characteristics of IZO:Al thin films. Correlation between sputtering factors and electronic properties of the film will be discussed in detail.

Sometimes the observed data is too small to discriminate it from noise of the instrument. Say, the data can be recorded as below DL(Detection Level) value. Even though the data below Detection Level(BDL) is small vague, it can be resulted in wrong estimates for mean and variance. However, in practice, the BDL data is generally eliminated as N.D. (Not Detected) and do not record it in Korea. This study investigates the distributions according to the data values of ammonia concentration (NH$_3$-N) in Puyeo intake. Also we try to find out DL value and an appropriate method for the estimations of mean and variance of BDL values that can be discriminate the distributions. The DL is estimated by trial and error method. The appropriate method for the estimations of mean and variance of above the detection level(ADL)and BDL dada sets is selected, and the mean and variance are estimated. As a result, it is found that the Bias Corrected Maximum Likelihood Estimator is the most accurate method for NH$_3$-N in Puyeo intake.

The objective of this study is to compare and analyze middle and high school boys' and girls' uniform wearing conditions. The survey was conducted online and data were obtained from 907 middle and high school boys and girls. The results of this study are as follows. First, most boys and girls did not know their body sizes other than their height and weight. Second, when purchasing the school uniforms, over 70% of the boys and girls chose to try on the uniforms before their purchase and over 60% of the boys and girls had trouble selecting their sizes just by reading the labels. Third, both boys and girls considered the fit as the most important factor. When purchasing jackets, both middle and high school boys considered the shoulder width as most important. Middle school girls considered the jacket and sleeve length as most important, whereas high school girls considered the shoulder width, waist, and bust as most important. When purchasing skirts or slacks, waist girth was considered as most important. Fourth, boys repurchased more school uniforms than girls. Boys have outgrown their uniforms usually in the length categories, whereas girls have outgrown in the girth categories. Fifth, more girls(72.7%) modified their uniforms than the boys(56.8%). Boys usually bought bigger uniforms, modified them to fit and when they grow out of their uniforms they planned to modify their uniforms again whereas girls modified their uniforms to follow the trend. Sixth, the online shopping mall survey has revealed that both boys and girls liked the idea of 3D model that reflect their own body shapes, but they had low preference to purchase school uniforms online. Online purchase has been more attractive to the boys than to the girls, while the way of fashioning uniforms has been more attractive to the girls than to the boys.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the voluntary activity, sociality, and morality in the dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 563 dental hygiene students in Jeonbuk from May 20 to June 20, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, volunteer activity, sociality, and morality. The instrument of sociality was adapted from Kim and reconstructed. Sociality was scored by Likert 5 scale and consisted of autonomy(4 questions), assiduousness(4 questions), sociability(4 questions), stability(4 questions), and leadership(4 questions). Cronbach alpha was 0.655 in the study. Morality instrument was adapted from Kim and Cho and reconstructed. The instrument was score by Likert 5 scale. Morality consisted of altruistic(8 questions) and social responsibility(8 questions). Cronbach alpha was 0.786 in the study. Data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 program for descriptive analysis, frequency analysis, and t-test. P value was set at p>0.05. Results: Among the dental hygiene students, 50.4% participated in the volunteer activity. 22% of the students tended to help others. There was a significant difference between the volunteer activity, sociality, and morality. Conclusions: The volunteer activity experience and sociality had a positive effect on the participation in helping others. Sharing with help is the most important attitude toward the positive thinking and the right way of living. So the professors and students must try to share knowledge and volunteering mind in clinical practice for the patients.
As the digital technology has improved, the numbers of Hangul font users have increased and their individual needs and taste are diversified. Therefore new and various Hangul fonts out of traditional form are developed and used. But under the present font classification system, it is hard to compare and analyze these various fonts. And the present classification system is hard to be the font user's guide for proper use of various Hangul fonts. For the better use of Hangul font, to diversify the font classification system is needed. So we propose the development of these thru classification standards. First, structural classification based on the structural character of Hangul. Second, image classification based on the visual images of each font. And third, usage classification based on the fonts proper usage in various media. For the development of various typographically balanced fonts and for the suitable and effective use of the various font, we must try to build the font classification system based on the diversified classification standards and build Hangul font database based on this classification system. Through these studies, we can expect the development of good quality fonts and the better use of these fonts.
A lot of designers are adopting a mixed imitation as techniques of cretion because cultural boundary and structure of meaning in the era of post-modernism are collapsed and dissolved. I raise up a question mark to how can genuine and creative designers can be identified at this epoch when we are today familiar with the trend of informationalization, opening and globalization. Characterisitics of multi-culturalism and compromising blending are meshed with appearance of a theory of disorganization and consumer-driven economic activity of multi-national enterprises in the age of post capitalism. Accordingly it can be said that designers are leaning upon public and consumeroriented pattern rather than pursuing a creative cultural production. With mass media in rapid advancement and public culture in father dissemination, mass production and mass re-production became a natural cultural phenomenon strengthen ing its root. Creative designers somewhat slow and limitative in pace of adaption to rapid changing society amid such social backgrounds and flooded information are coming to dead-end of wall. A mixed imitation as techniques of creation is a result of borrowing, duplicating or re-combining of existing things because the mixed imitation is equivalent to borrowing, copying, compilation and recombination of well-known artworks, motive, diverse people's cultural features, image, techniques and the likes. It is too delicate thing for one to definitely distinguish such cultural phenomenon from either one as creative work or a plagiarized work. Looking into the facts as they are, we should recognize the designers limitation in their creative works by means of the mixed imitation. thus we can have a view upon them from a criticizing standpoint against the designers creation and imitation. On the other hand, when we look at things how the mixed imitation appears in the fashion as a piece of culture, we can understand something of the contemporary designers. I try to find a significance in seeking out a method of approaching to creative fashion designers direction in future times.

Online shoppers are not able to try clothing on. Therefore, the pictures of clothing on the website play a significant role when shoppers make decision on their purchase. There are generally three different ways to show clothing at online shops. The first one is showing only clothing images, and the second one is showing the pictures that have actual fitting models wearing clothing on (In this case, Model's face is mostly not shown in the picture.), and the third is showing the pictures of professional fitting models who wear goods. The shopping malls adopt each of the different ways but little is known about affect on purchasing from these three ways. The aim of this study is to figure out how the online shopper's emotional status is affected by these three ways of presenting pictures of clothing. At first, we developed a set of adjective words of human emotion to set up the evaluation criteria for user's emotional status. Those adjectives are originally from the precedent research on human emotion. To cut 99 adjectives down to a proper number for the criteria, we conducted a preliminary survey, and finally, 5 adjectives are selected as appropriate criteria for evaluating users' emotional status while they are shopping. Those five adjectives are 'possess','sensual', 'unique', 'tasteful', and 'stylish'. Then, we conducted the main survey showing 10 kinds of cloth (each cloth was consist of 3 ways). And in the page of model images, we measured the model's preference for understanding the relation with customer's emotion criteria of the product. As a result of the test there was statistically significant difference between product only images and anonymous images, but there was no significant difference between anonymous images and model images. And the preference of the model and value of the emotion criteria have large correlation except 'unique' criteria. It is expected that the result in this study will help to build new marketing strategy which satisfy customers' emotion.
In this paper, a new try to measure nonlinear propagation characteristics of the pulse along blood vessel by using bispectral analysis is introduced, and the possibility of its application to the medical diagnosis is shown. In this method, the waveforms of pulse motion of blood vessel at two separated measuring points on the wall were detected from Doppler frequency modulation of transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then the auto- and crossbispectrum of detected waveforms are calculated to estimate the quadratic NTF (nonlinear transfer function) between the two measuring positions. In order to show relationships between the NTF and the nonlinear propagation characteristics, computer simulations have been performed. As the propagation distance increases, harmonic frequency components in NTF increases broadly due to the nonlinear effect in the propagation of blood pulse. In order to represent this phenomena quantitatively, we propose a new parameter, dispersion ratio of WTF. Basic experimental system was constructed by using 3.5MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the preliminary experiments were carried out on ague phantom and human body. Experimental results showed the validity of the measurement system enoughly.

Recently, researches for methods of generating binary feature descriptors have been actively done. Since matching of binary feature descriptors uses Hamming distance which is based on bit operations, it is much more efficient than that of previous general feature descriptors which uses Euclidean distance based on real number operations. However, since increase in the number of features linearly drops matching speed, in applications such as object tracking where real-time applicability is a must, there has been an increasing demand for methods of further improving the matching speed of binary feature descriptors. In this regard, this paper proposes a method that improves the matching speed greatly while maintaining the matching accuracy by splitting high dimensional binary feature descriptors to several low dimensional ones and sequentially analyzing their partial Hamming distances. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method, experiments of comparison with previous matching methods are conducted. In addition, this paper discusses schemes of generating binary feature descriptors for maximizing the performance of the proposed method. Based on the analysis on the performance of several generation schemes, we try to find out the most effective scheme.
