One of the most difficult and time-consuming stages in the development of the knowledge-based system is a knowledge acquisition. A splitting algorithm is developed to infer a rule-tree which can be converted to a rule-typed knowledge. A market segmentation may be performed in order to establish market strategy suitable to each market segment. As the sales data of a product market is probabilistic and noisy, it becomes necessary to prune the rule-tree-at an acceptable level while generating a rule-tree. A splitting algorithm is developed using the pruning measure based on a total amount of information gain and the measure of existing algorithms. A user can easily adjust the size of the resulting rule-tree according to his(her) preferences and problem domains. The algorithm is applied to a market segmentation problem of a medium-large computer market. The algorithm is illustrated step by step with a sales data of a computer market and is analyzed.
In recent years, there have been many attempts to connect the latest RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology with EIS (Enterprise Information System) and utilize them. However, in most cases the focus is only on the simultaneous multiple reading capability of the RFID technology neglecting the management of massive data created from the reader. As a result, it is difficult to obtain time-related information such as flow prediction and analysis in process control. In this paper, we suggest a new method called 'procedure tree', an enhanced and complementary version of PathTree which is one of RFID data mining techniques, to manage massive RFID data sets effectively and to perform a real-time process control efficiently. We will evaluate efficiency of the proposed system after applying real-time process management system connected with the RFID-based EIS. Through the suggested method, we are able to perform such tasks as prediction or tracking of process flow for real-time process control and inventory management efficiently which the existing RFID-based production system could not have done.

It is the purpose of this study to address how to manage the urban vegitation using the concept of Urban Forestry which is relatively new to Korea. When we consider the Urban Forestry as a science, We should understand it interdisciplinary subject which includes Forestry, Horticulture, Urban Planning, Landscape Design, Landuse Planning, Business and Humanities. It may say that people and tree are the fundermental components of Urban Forestry. So there are two ways of Urban Forestry Applications-How people care for trees and How trees care for People-. For the application, this study places the focus on the monetary valuation, tree inventory system and traditional forestry application to urban forest management. Pubic Relation, Communication, Ordinances and Budget are also mentioned as a part of Urban Forestry Policy. Monetary valuation of trees and forests is very important for the proper cognition of their real value. So that, they may be equated and weighed against conflicting uses which would cause to be removed or severely mutilated. A tree inventory system which is the essential part of urban tree management can provide the pertinent information about the present condition of urban tree resource. It may aid in reducing the subjectivity of tree management decisions and stimulate them to be made rapidly and can help reduce potential municipal liability by identifying serious problems in time for corrective maintenance practices to be applied for the maximize community benefits and minimimize public nuisances or hazards. Managers can derive the information from the inventory and use it for the various management plan. When we see the structure of tree inventory system as one of the data base management system, Computer is the best equipment for the efficient management plan. Public relation and communication is also important factors to care the people for urban vegetation management. Volunteer management system is a good example for the public relation and communication. Those skills are need to develop for using the priceless, valuable human resources. Budget holds the key to the execution of Urban Forestry. Good inventory can provide for efficient budgeting stratiges through it's scientific analysis for the way of maximum benefits and minimum costs. Forest can be play a vital role for the aesthetic improvement and recreation in the city. This study suggests that the traditional sivicultural application not only improve the quality of scenic beauty and recreation but also the products of timber. So it is more needed to study for strong and scientific application to urban forest management.

This paper was focused on the efficient management of landscape woody plants, and concerned itself with their important role in the urban environment. Based on the philosophy that there is nothing that can be done without an inventory, the purpose of this study was to develop an inventory system and iris proper application to a site for establishing a management plan Two different approaches were used, The first was to make a newly structured inventory system through collecting, analyzing, and evaluating various types of inventories used in Korea, the U. S. A., and Japan. The second approach was to apply a newly designed inventory system to the case study area. using GIS 'as a tool of spacial analysis and statistics for making decisions. The results could be summarized as follows; 1. In Korea, most of the Landscape Woozy Plants Inventories had datas which represented possession of trees, and only the work which they had done according to their traditional ways, There was no data related to the conditions, management needs, and site conditions of individual trees, This is essential information for organizing an inventory system . 2. There needs to be data which is balanced, containing tree characteristics and site characteristics. Through such information the management needs could be adjusted properly. The inventory list described in this paper was determined by botanical identity, placement condition, condition of tree, and types of work for maintaining as well as improving the condition of each tree One of the most important things was to determine the location data of each tree so as to compare data with other trees. The data gained from the field survey still had some problems because of lack of scientific method for supporting objective views, and because of actual situations, especially in the field of evaluating site conditions and management needs. All data should be revised to fit a computer data management system , if possible 3. The GIS(Geographic Information System) application showed good performance in handling inventory data for decision making. All the data used for the GIS application was divided into location and non-spatial data. Using the location data, it was easy to find the exact location of each tree on the monitor and on the maps generated by the computer even in the actual managed trite, along with various attribute data. Therefore it could be said that the entire management plan should start from data of individual trees with their exact locations, for making concrete management goals through actual budget planning.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop the methods for evaluating patients' queue environment using decision tree and queueing theory. Methods: This study uses CHAID decision tree and M/G/1 queueing theory to estimate pain point and patients waiting time for medical service. This study translates hospital physical data process to logical process to adapt queueing theory. Results: This study indicates that three nodes of the system has predictable problem with patients waiting time and can be improved by relocating patients to other nodes. Conclusion: This study finds out three seek points of the hospital through decision tree analysis and substitution nodes through the queueing theory. Revealing the hospital patients' queue environment, this study has several limitations such as lack of various case and factors.

Many indexing methods were proposed so that process moving object efficiently. Among them, indexing methods like the 3D R-tree treat temporal and spatial domain as the same. Actually, however. both domain had better process separately because of difference in character and unit. Especially in this paper we deal with limited region such as indoor environment since spatial domain is limited but temporal domain is grown. In this paper we present a novel indexing structure, namely STS-tree(Separation of Time and Space tree). based on limited region. STS-tree is a hybrid tree structure which consists of R-tree and one-dimensional TB-tree. The R-tree component indexes static object and spatial information such as topography of the space. The TB-tree component indexes moving object and temporal information.
In this paper, we consider an interesting variant of the inverse minimum traveling salesman problem. Given an instance (G, w) of the minimum traveling salesman problem defined on a metric space, we fix a specified Hamiltonian cycle $HC_0$. The task is then to adjust the edge cost vector w to w' so that the new cost vector w' satisfies the triangle inequality condition and $HC_0$ can be returned by the minimum spanning tree algorithm in the TSP-instance defined with w'. The objective is to minimize the total deviation between the original and the new cost vectors with respect to the $L_1$-norm. We call this problem the inverse metric traveling salesman problem against the minimum spanning tree algorithm and show that it is closely related to the inverse metric spanning tree problem.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a method of the sensitivity analysis that can be applied to a non-tree solution of the minimum cost flow problem. First, we introduce two types of sensitivity analysis. A sensitivity analysis of Type 1a is the well known method applicable to a tree solution. However this method can not be applied to a non-tree solution. So we propose a sensitivity analysis of Type 2 that keeps solutions of upper bounds at upper bounds, those of lower bounds at lower bounds, and those of intermediate values at intermediate values. For the cost coefficient we present a method that the sensitivity analysis of Type 2 is solved by finding the shortest path. Besides we also show that the results of Type 2 and Type 1 are the same in a spanning tree solution. For the right-hand side constant or the capacity, the sensitivity analysis of Type 2 is solved by a simple calculation using arcs with intermediate values.

Overlay multicast technique is an effective way as an alternative to IP multicast. Traditional IP multicast is not widely deployed because of the complexity of IP multicast technology and lack of application. But overlay multicast can be easily deployed by effectively reducing complexity of network routers. Because overlay multicast resides on top of densely connected IP network, In case of multimedia streaming service over overlay multicast tree, real-time data is sensitive to end-to-end delay. Therefore, moderate algorithm's development to this network environment is very important. In this paper, we are interested in minimizing maximum end-to-end delay in overlay multicast tree. The problem is formulated as a degree-bounded minimum delay spanning tree, which is a problem well-known as NP-hard. We develop tabu search heuristic with intensification and diversification strategies. Robust experimental results show that is comparable to the optimal solution and applicable in real time
This paper applies the binary tree classifier and discriminant analysis methods to predicting failures of banks and insurance companies. In this study, discriminant analysis is generally better than the binary tree classifier in the classification of bank defaults; the binary tree is generally better than discriminant analysis in the classification of insurance company defaults. This situation can be explained that the performance of a classifier depends on the characteristics of the data. If the data are dispersed appropriately for the classifier, the classifier will show a good performance. Otherwise, it may show a poor performance. The two data sets (bank and insurance) are analyzed to explain the better performance of the binary tree in insurance and the worse performance in bank; the better performance of discriminant analysis in bank and the worse performance in insurance.
