모형시험 및 수치해석을 통한 수중익쌍동선 주위의 유동장 해석 (Analysis of the Flow Field around a Hydrofoil Catamaran by Using Model Experiment and Numerical Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 일정속도로 자유수면상을 항주하는 수중익쌍동선의 저항성능을 모형시험 및 수치계산에 의하여 해석하였다. 대상선형은 Wigley선형을 변형한 비대칭형 트랜섬(transom) 선미의 단동체(demihull)를 갖는 수중익쌍동선으로서 전진속도 Fn = 0.2 ~ 1.0의 범위 및 수중익의 입사각도를 $0.0^{\circ}$에서 $3.0^{\circ}$까지 변화시켜 가며 실험과 계산을 수행하였다. 실험은 인하대학교의 선형시험수조에서 수행되었으며, 수치계산은 유한차분법(Finite Difference Method)에 의하여 수행되었다. 모형시험 및 수치계산결과는 포일(foil)을 부착하지 않았을 때의 결과와 비교, 검토되었다. 수치계산결과와 실험결과는 정성적으로 일치함을 보였으며, 포일의 형태와 각도에 따라 항주자세와 저항성능의 변화를 확인하였다.

쿼드로터형 무인비행체의 후류 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Wake Characteristics of a Quadrotor UAV)

  • In the present study, we investigate the flow characteristics of a quadrotor UAV in a hovering mode by measuring multiple two-dimensional velocity fields in the wake. The experiment is conducted at Re = 24,000 in a chamber large enough to neglect the ground effect, where Re is the Reynolds number based on the rotor chord length and the rotor tip speed. The rotational speed of the rotor is determined by an optical tachometer so that the lift force can be balanced with the weight of the UAV. The velocity field measured on the center plane of the rotor shows that the vortices are shedding from the tip of the rotor, inducing large fluctuations in the streamwise velocity along the wake shear layer. The strength of the rotor-tip vortex shedding is asymmetric with respect to the rotor axis due to the interaction between the rotor and the wake centerline of each rotor is inclined to the center of the UAV due to the pressure difference caused by the induced velocity. The wake from each rotor moves closer to each other while traveling in the streamwise direction, and then is merged together inducing large fluctuations in the transverse velocity. Due to the wake merging, on the center plane of the UAV, the velocity increases in the streamwise direction showing two-peak structure in the streamwise velocity contours.

개수로에서 이차원 모델의 이차류 유속분포 적용에 관한 연구 (Application of Transverse Flow Profile to Two Dimensional Models in Open Channels)

  • 하천의 사행 및 합류 형상은 복잡한 나선 흐름을 발생시킨다. 그 중 이차류는 사행에 의한 편수위 형성과 횡단 압력의 불균형, 그리고 수심에 따라서 변화하는 원심력에 의하여 형성된다. 이러한 흐름은 주로 3차원 모형으로 재현할 수 있으며 이에 관련된 연구는 계속 이루어졌으나 3차원 모형의 구성과 사용에는 상당한 시간 및 노력이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 이차류의 영향을 수심적분된 2차원 모형으로 구현하고자 하였으며 이를 위해 이차류 연직 분포에 대한 기존 연구를 확인하고, 이러한 연직 분포를 표현할 수 있는 경험식을 3차원 모형인 FLOW3D를 통해 모의하고 개발하였다. 3차원 모형을 다양한 사행반경을 갖는 실험 사행수로에 적용하여 사행도에 따른 민감도를 분석하고 경험식을 개발하였다. 개발된 식은 2차원 수리해석 모형인 RAMS(River Analysis and Modeling System)에 적용되었다. RAMS는 수심 적분된 2차원 천수 방정식을 지배방정식으로 사용하는 수리해석모형인 HDM-2D를 해석엔진으로 사용하며, 이차류의 영향을 반영하기 위하여 개발한 수직분포 경험식을 분산 응력항 형태로 적용하였다. 모형의 적용성 확인을 위하여 사행 실험수로 및 합류수로에 모의를 수행하였다. 사행수로 및 합류수로는 실험 경계조건과 동일한 상류 입력 유량과 하류 경계조건을 사용하여 결과를 비교하였다. 사행수로 모의 결과 유속분포의 거동이 실험수로의 사행으로 인하여 2차류 효과로 주 흐름이 바깥쪽으로 기울어짐을 일부 재현하였다. 합류수로의 경우 기존 모형에 비하여 분산 응력항이 포함된 본 모형이 실측값에 근접하였는데 이는 이차류가 발생하는 영향으로 하류에 유속편차가 줄어드는 영향을 더 정확히 묘사한 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of Aminoglycoside Antibiotics on in-Vitro Morphogenesis from Cultured Cells of Chrysanthemum and Tobacco

  • Successful genetic transformation of plants requires non-chimeric selection of transformed tissues and their subsequent regeneration. With rare exceptions, most transformation protocols still rely heavily on antibiotics for selecting transgenic cells that contain an antibiotic-degrading selectable marker gene. Here, the morphogenic capacity of in-vitro explants of chrysanthemnum and tobacco stems and leaves (control and transgenic) changed with the addition of aminoglycoside antibiotics (AAs), In a test of 6 AAs, phytotoxicity occurred at concentrations of 10 to 25 and 50 to 100$\mu\textrm{g}$ $mL^{-1}$ in chrysanthemum and tobacco explants, respectively. Light conditions as well as explant source and size also had significant effects. The use of transverse thin cell layers (tTCLs), in conjunction with high initial AA selection levels, supported the greatest regeneration of transgenic material (adventitious shoots or callus) and the lowest number of escapes. Flow-cytometric analyses revealed no endodu-plication in chrysanthemum, even at high AA levels. However, this phenomenon was observed in tobacco calli(8C or more), even at low AA concentrations (i.e., 5 to 10 $\mu\textrm{g}$ mL$^{-1}$ ).

Heat Transfer and Frictions in the Rectangular Divergent Channel with Ribs on One Wall

  • An investigation of ribbed divergent channel was undertaken to determine the effect of rib pitch to height ratio on total friction factor and heat transfer results in the fully developed regime. The ribbed divergent rectangular channel with the channel exit hydraulic diameter ($D_{ho}$) to inlet channel hydraulic diameter ($D_{hi}$) ratio of 1.16 with wall inclination angle of 0.72 deg, at which the ratios (p/e) of 6,10, and 14 are considered. The ribbed straight channel of $D_{ho}/D_{hi}=1.0$ were also used. The ribbed divergent wall is manufactured with a fixed rib height (e) of 10 mm and the ratio of rib spacing (p) to height 6, 10, and 14. The measurement was run with range of Reynolds numbers from 24,000 to 84,000. The comparison shows that the ratio of p/e=6 has the greatest thermal performance in the divergent channel under two constraints; identical mass flow rate and identical pressure drop.

차분격자볼츠만법에 의한 저Mach수 영역 edge tone의 유체해석 (Fluid analysis of edge Tones at low Mach number using the finite difference lattice Boltzmann method)

  • This paper presents a two-dimensional edge tone to predict the frequency characteristics of the discrete oscillations of a jet-edge feedback cycle by the finite difference lattice Boltzmann method (FDLBM). We use a new lattice BGK compressible fluid model that has an additional term and allow larger time increment comparing the conventional FDLBM, and also use a boundary fitted coordinates. The jet is chosen long enough in order to guarantee the parabolic velocity profile of the jet at the outlet, and the edge consists of a wedge with an angle of $\alpha=23^0$. At a stand-off distance $\omega$, the edge is inserted along the centreline of the jet, and a sinuous instability wave with real frequency f is assumed to be created in the vicinity of the nozzle and th propagate towards the downstream. We have succeeded in capturing very small pressure fluctuations result from periodically oscillation of jet around the edge. That pressure fluctuations propagate with the sound speed. Its interaction with the wedge produces an irrotational feedback field which, near the nozzle exit, is a periodic transverse flow producing the singularities at the nozzle lips. The lattice BGK model for compressible fluids is shown to be one of powerful tool for computing sound generation and propagation for a wide range of flows.

  • Flow characteristics of hull wake behind a container ship model were investigated experimentally with varying loading condition and Reynolds number. Large-scale bilge vortices of nearly the same strength are formed in the near-wake region. They are symmetric and counter-rotating with respect to the wake centerline for all loading conditions tested. With going downstream for both design and ballast loading conditions, the strength of the bilge vortices decreases and the wake region expands due to diffusion and viscous dissipation. Under the design loading condition, the bilge vortices start to appear at St=0.363 transverse plane above the propeller-boss. For the ballast loading condition, however, the bilge vortices start to appear at St=0.591 below the propeller-boss. They move upward as the hull wake goes downstream and Reynolds number increases. These wake characteristics, under the ballast loading condition, may weaken the propulsion and cavitation performances of the propeller, which are usually optimized for the design loading condition.

콘크리트 중력식 댐의 향상된 내진성능 평가방법 (Improved Evaluation for the Seismic Capacity of Concrete Gravity Dams)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 무엇보다도 콘크리트중력식 댐의 내진안전성 평가방법을 정립하는 데에 있다. 그렇게 하기 위하여 지진시 구조물의 거동을 파악하고 내진성능을 평가해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 구조해석 프로그램을 사용한 동적해석을 통하여 지진시의 피해상황을 알아보았다. 물의 중량으로 인하여 댐에 가해지는 동수압은 부가질량법을 이용하여 계산하였다. 본 연구에서 알아낸 바에 의하면 지반상태에 따라 경계조건을 부여해 주는 것이 필요하며 특히 댐의 모양이 불균일하거나 갑작스런 기하학적인 변화가 있을 때에는 댐의 상하류방향 지진 만이 아닌 댐축방향 지진에 대한 해석이 반드시 필요하다는 것이 밝혀졌다.

  • In this work, the effect of composite couplings and mass distributions on hub loads of a hingeless rotor in forward flight is investigated. 1'he hingeless composite rotor is idealized as a laminated thin-walled box-beam. The nonclassical effects such as transverse shear and torsion warping are considered in the structural formulation. The nonlinear differential equations of motion are obtained by applying Hamilton's principle. The blade responses and hub loads are calculated using a finite element formulation both in space and time. The aerodynamic forces acting on the blade are calculated using the quasi-steady strip theory. The theory includes the effects of reversed flow and compressibility The magnitude of elastic couplings obtained by MSC/NASTRAN is compared with the classical pitch-flap($\delta$$_{3}$) coupling. It is observed that the elastic couplings and mass distributions of the blade have a substantial effect on the behavior of $N_{b/}$rev hub loads. About 40% hub loads is reduced by tailoring or redistributing the structural properties of the blade.f the blade.

해양 조류발전단지 간섭 연구 (Ocean Current Power Farm Interaction Study)

  • Several tidal current power plants are being planned and constructed in Korea utilizing the strong tidal currents along the west and south coasts. A tidal current reaches 9.7 m on the west coast; there are few potential regions for tidal current power generation. The construction of a dam to store water can prevent the circulation of water, causing a great environmental impact on the coast and estuary. The tidal barrage could produce a large amount of power, but it should be carefully considered. The purpose of developing renewable energies is to minimize the environmental impact and to maximize the utilization of clean energy. To produce a great quantity of power, tidal current farms require the placement of numerous units in the ocean. The power generation is very dependent on the size of the rotor and the incoming flow velocity. Also, the interactions between devices contribute greatly to the production of power. The efficiency of a power farm is estimated to determine the production rate. This paper introduces 3 D interaction problems between rotating rotors, considering the axial, transverse, and diagonal distances between horizontal axis tidal current devices.
