This study presents the mathematical model for predicting chloride penetration into saturated concrete under non-isothermal condition. The model considers not only diffusion mechanism but also migration process of chloride ions and other chemical species in concrete pore solution such as sodium, potassium, and hydroxyl ions. The coupled multi-ionic transport in concrete is described by the Nernst-Planck equation associated with electro-neutrality condition. The coupling parameter taken into account the effect of temperature on ion diffusion obtained from available test data is proposed and explicitly incorporated in the governing equations. The coupled transport equations are solved using the finite element method. The numerical results are validated with available experimental data and the comparison shows a good agreement.

Temperature-dependent current-voltage characteristics of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (OLEDs) were studied. The OLEDs were based on the molecular compounds, N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-diphenyl-4,4'-diamine (TPD) as a hole transport and trois(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum(Alq$_3$) as an electron transport and emissive material. The current-voltage characteristics were measured in the temperature range of 10[K] and 300[K]. A conduction mechanism in OLEDs was interpreted in terms of tunneling and trap-filled limited current.

The effect of process parameters such as the growth pressure and temperature on the AlN crystal growth has been investigated. AlN crystal was grown onto 6H-SiC seed crystal using PVT (Physical Vapor Transport) method. Crystal properties and morphology of AlN crystal was changed with growth pressure and temperature. Raman analysis confirmed that AlN crystals with different orientation were successfully grown on SiC seed crystal.

The purpose of this study was 1) to estimate the improvement of thermal storage/release and moisture transport properties of PEG-treated acrylic athletic socks and suggest the optimum add-on for PEG treatment, 2) to investigate wear performance of untreated cocks and two kinds of socks treated with PEG of minimum and optimum add-on respectively, and 3) to consider the effect of thermal storage/release and moisture transport properties of PEG- treated socks on the wear performance and the subjective comfort zone. Thermal activities of specimens treated by PDC were evaluated on a DSC by measuring the heat of fusion on heating and the heat of crystallization on cooling. Moisture regain, absorption speed, wickability, water retenti on value, and water-vapor permeability were measured. In the wear trials that the subjects performed a subsequent exercise protocol wearing three differently treated socks in a conditioned environment ($14\pm2^{\circ}C$, 65$\pm$2% R.H.), microclimate temperature and humidity, and subjective wear sensations including thermal sensation, wettedness, softness, fit, and overall comfort were obtained. PEC-treated specimens with more than 20% add-on showed thermal storage on heating and thermal release on cooling by a DSC and the heat contents of treated ones were generally proportional to the add-ons. Moisture transport properties were highly improved after PEG treatment and increased rapidly with increasing add-on. The tendencies were, however, relaxed above 50% add-on and the treated knits were much stiffer above that add-on. In the wear trials of untreated, PEG add-on 20%, and 50% acrylic socks, the changes of microclimate temperature of 50% socks were significantly less than that of 20% socks. PEG add-on 50% socks showed significantly less changes of microclimate humidity than other two kinds of socks. Three kinds of socks showed significant differences in overall comfort and add-on 50% socks were accepted more comfortable than other two kinds of socks. Comfort zone of foot was extended after PEG treatment on socks and it implied that the subjects wearing PEG- treated socks felt comfortable in wider ranges of microclimate temperature and humidity.
This study examined the viability of canine oocytes following storage at 4 or 38$^{\circ}C$ for 5 h. Cumulus intact oocytes were collected from domestic dog following ovariohysterectomy at local veterinary clinics. In Exp I, the oocytes that collected from ovary transport different temperatures (4 or 38$^{\circ}C$) for 5 h, were cultured for (24 or 48 h). Survivability of oocytes judged by morphological appearance and PI (propidium iodide) staining. The survival rates at 4$^{\circ}C$ ovary transport group showed significantly lower than control group (0%; 0/129 vs. 72.9%; 129/177) 48 h after culture (P<0.05). In Exp II, to assess nuclear maturation of control group oocytes (ovary transported at 38$^{\circ}C$) after in vitro cultured for 24, 48 or 96 h. After 24 h and 48 h of culture, the metaphase I to metaphase II stages (MI to MII) was 8.3% (6/72) and 8.9% (9/101), and which was not increased at 96h (9.5%; 8/84). These results show that canine oocytes remarkably sensitive to low temperature and the percentage of oocytes reaching MI to MII did not increase 96 h after culture.

The food cold chain refers to a technology and distribution supply chain applied to maintain a constant temperature suitable for the product from production (harvest) to delivery to consumers. In particular, in Korea, the insulation material used in the food cold chain is mostly EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), which is used as a transport container for various food cold chains. However, according to the government's eco-friendly policy, companies charge environmental contributions to the use of EPS, but due to its low price and convenience of handling, it is still used as a container for delivering food. In this study, in order to measure the domestic delivery environment of general refrigerated foods, changes in impact, temperature, and humidity during transport of the EPS packaging system containing foods and ice pack refrigerants were measured. As a result, there were 2?3 sections in which a high impact force of 40 G or more was generated during transport. This can cause damage to the product and EPS container. The difference in temperature and humidity changes by parcel transport routes is more than 30%, so it is necessary to present accurate standards for the domestic cold chain distribution environment. As a result of microbial experiments. the transportation period had a dominant effect on the increase in total viable count and E. coli count.

Three HF ocean radar stations were installed at the Soya/La Perouse Strait in the Sea of Okhotsk in order to monitor the Soya Warm Current. The frequency of the HF radar is 13.9 MHz, and the range and azimuth resolutions are 3 km and $5^{\circ}$, respectively. The radar covers a range of approximately 70 km from the coast. It is shown that the HF radars clearly capture seasonal and short-term variations of the Soya Warm Current. The velocity of the Soya Warm Current reaches its maximum, approximately 1 m $s^{-1}$, in summer, and weakens in winter. The velocity core is located 20 to 30 km from the coast, and its width is approximately 50 km. The surface transport by the Soya Warm Current shows a significant correlation with the sea level difference along the strait, as derived from coastal tide gauge records. The cross-current sea level difference, which is estimated from the sea level anomalies observed by the Jason-1 altimeter and a coastal tide gauge, also exhibits variation in concert with the surface transport and along-current sea level difference.

This study has been performed to investigate the thermal performance of variable conductance heat pipe (VCHP) with meshed wick. The length of condenser portion in a VCHP is varied by the expansion of inert gas with the operation temperature, and the heat transport capacity is thus varied with the operating temperature. In this study, numerical evaluation of the VCHP is made for the thermal performance of VCHP, based on the diffusion model of inert gas. Water is used as a working fluid and nitrogen as a control inert gas in the copper tube. As a result, the thermal performance of VCHP has been compared with that of constant conductance heat pipe (CCHP) according to the variation of operation temperature. Maximum heat transport capacity of VCHP is mainly presented for operation temperature and the variation of operation temperature is also presented for heat transfer rate of VCHP.
