송전선용 비접촉식 커플러의 설계와 적용연구 (Study on Design and Application of an Inductive Coupler for Power Transmission Line)

  • An inductive coupler, which feeds communication to the electric power transmission line, is required to establish Power Line Communication(PLC). The electro-magnetic property of magnetic core and design technology for coupler are very important to manufacture an inductive coupler for power transmission line. The magnetic core with superior electro-magnetic property was manufactured by using nanocrystalline alloy and an inductive coupler, which can operate at the maximum 2,000 A current, was designed and manufactured by establishment of current saturation, signal out winding, and electromagnetic simulation in this study. Communication speed of 14 Mbps in 600 meter communication distance of the real electric power transmission line was obtained by using the inductive coupler and application possibility of the inductive coupler for the electric power transmission line was certified.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the frequency response of the Line coupler for Power Line Communication. We separate transmission and reception line coupler and design the reception line coupler using GIC. It was found from the result that separation transmission and reception line coupler using GIC have the advantage of a design and high Q.

  • In this paper, Designed Quadrature hybrid coupler apply Open-PI equivalent transmission line. Using the proposed structure we achieve significant size reduction with the same results of conventional quadrature hybrid coupler at 912MHz. The measured frequency responses agree well with simulated one.

  • 본 논문에서는 사각형 모양으로 공간 활용성이 높은 콤팩트한 구조를 갖는, 슬롯이 있는 삼각 패치형 인공전송 선로 결합기를 제안한다. 일반적인 결합기는 ${\lambda}$/4 길이의 전송 선로를 사용하기 때문에 소형화의 한계를 가지고 있으나, 이 구조는 ${\lambda}$/4보다 작은 길이일 때 결합기가 최대 결합도를 갖는 특징을 나타내어 소형화에 유리할 뿐만 아니라, 슬롯의 길이를 변화시킴으로써 설계상에 임피던스와 위상 조절에 용이하도록 하였다. 제시된 인공 전송 선로 결합기의 설계 방법을 바탕으로 중심 주파수 2.4 GHz에서 15 dB의 결합기를 시험 제작하여 제시된 방법의 유용성을 보였다.

  • 전력선 통신에서 사용되는 비접촉식 커플러의 신호 전달 특성을 향상시키기 위한 비접촉식 커플러의 구조와 자기장 결합에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 비접촉식 커플러의 결합 구조를 분석하였고, Rogowski 코일을 이용한 커플러와 자성체 코어를 이용한 커플러를 제작하여 구조에 따른 신호 전달 특성을 분석하였다. 집중 정수 소자와 임피던스 트랜스포머를 이용한 임피던스 매칭법을 제안하여 협대역과 광대역에서 신호 전달 특성을 향상시켰고 전달 신호의 크기는 대역폭과 트레이드오프가 있음을 보였다. 본 연구는 추후 부하 변동에 따른 임피던스 매칭 연구에 도움을 줄 수 있다.

  • In this paper, a miniaturized directional coupler utilizing lumped element is proposed as a interdigital capacitor. The traditional miniaturization technique of transmission line realized a utilizing MIM(Metal-Insulator-Metal) capacitor on CPW(Coplanar Waveguide). However, we present a simplified design procedure without additional manufacturing process utilizing interdigital capacitor on microstrip with ease of design. The similar characteristics between the conventional directional coupler with ${\lambda}/4$ transmission line and the miniaturized directional coupler with ${\lambda}/8$ transmission line are validated through simulation and measurement results. Miniaturization rate of total size is about 25% while coupled line is about 60%. As a result, this proposed directional coupler can reduce the size of mobile communication system at 2 GHz.

인공전송선로를 이용한 결합선로 방향성 결합기 (Coupled-Line Directional Coupler Using Artificial Transmission Line)

  • 본 논문에서는 인공전송선로 중 LUC(Low-pass filter Unit Cell) 구조를 이용한 결합선로 방향성 결합기를 제안한다. 일반적인 결합선로 결합기는 ${\lambda}/4$ 길이의 전송 선로를 사용하므로 소형화에 한계가 있다. 반면에 제안한 결합기는 $90^{\circ}$보다 아주 작은 두 결합선로 사이에 위상 지연선로를 삽입하여 전체적으로 $90^{\circ}$보다 작게 결합기를 구현했고, 일반적인 전송선로의 특성을 특정 주파수 내에서 만족하는 인공전송선로를 이용하여 결합기에 위상 지연선로를 구성함으로써 물리적 크기를 감소시켰다. 중심주파수 700 MHz에서 -10 dB의 결합량 특성을 갖는 방향성 결합기를 설계 및 제작, 측정하였다. 측정된 결과는 기존 결합기와 비슷한 성능을 보였다. 반면, 제작한 결합기의 결합선로는 기존 결합기의 약 45% 크기를 가지고 있다.

  • We observed the application possibility of inductive coupler for the underground high-voltage power line communication by means of analysis of signal transmission characteristics and magnetic properties on annealing temperatures for high-permeability Fe-base amorphous alloys. The best electromagnetic and transmission characteristics were shown in nano-crystalline precipitated alloy annealed at temperature $510^{\circ}C$. The transmission characteristics in the low-frequency band depend on permeability of magnetic core materials and its properties of high-frequency band can be improved by impedance matching. Using the high pass filter embedded in the coupler, other noise signal band except for communication signals could be cut off.

Fiber-Optic Temperature Sensor Based on Single Mode Fused Fiber Coupler

  • This paper reports a fiber-optic temperature sensor using a single mode fused fiber coupler incorporating a thermo-optic external medium. The spectral transmission was altered by changing the refractive index of the external thermo-optic medium. A theoretical and experimental investigation was carried out with the aim of achieving high sensitivity. The measured sensitivity for the environmental temperature was as high as -1.5 $nm/^{\circ}C$.
