직립전열관에서의 유체진동에 관한 연구 (A study of flow oscillations in a upright heated pipe)

  • The stability of the two-phase flow in a heated channel is of great importance in the design and operation of the boilers and light water nuclear reactors, because it can cause flow oscillations and lead to a violation of thermal limits with resultant overheating of the channels and cladding. This paper presents a systematic evaluation to the variation effects of the basic four (4) dimensionless parameters in a homogeneous equilibrium model. The flow stability is examined on the ground of static characteristic curves. The complicated transfer function of flow dynamics which gives consideration to the transport lag of density wave is derived, and the transient flow stability is analysed by applying the Nyquist stability criterion in control engineering. The analysis results summed up as follows 1. The coolant flow becomes stable in large friction number and specific flow, while it is unstabale in small friction number and flow. 2. Large phase-change number and Froude number destabilize the two-phase flow, but small numbers stabilize it. The effect to variation of phase-change number is more dominant compared with Froude number. 3. The dynamic analysis is required to hold the sufficient safety of heated channels since only static results does not keep it. The special attention could be payed in the design and operation of heat engines, because the unstaable region exists within the stable boundary at small and middle phase-change number and Froude number.

유사공진형 SMPS의 보상기 설계에 관한 연구 (A study on the compensator design of the quasi-resonant SMPS)

  • In this thesis, the lead-lag compensator is designed to improve output characteristics of flyback zero voltage switching quasi-resonant converters. The switch and the diode are assumed ideally. And the SMPS is modelled by state equations with four operation modes. And the model for controller design is also achived by using a state space averaging method, which is continuous time average of state variables every period. The lag, the lead and the lead-lag compensator is designed the SMPS respectively. The time domain analysis and the frequency domain analysis are done for each compensated circuit. It is possible increasing the phase margin and improving the transient response by the compensators. The phase lag compensator has small overshoot comparatively. But the bandwidth is narrower than the others, so it has longest settling time. For the phase lead compensator, the response come to steady-state within short period. But the overshoot is the largest due to its large peak gain. Finally, the phase lead-lag compensator has medium characteristics in the overshoot and the settling time.

  • 전력시스템의 정밀 해석을 위해서는 부하모델이 정확하게 표현되어야 하는데, 이러한 부하 중에서 유도전동기 는 가정용, 상업용 및 산업용의 전 분야에서 가장 큰 비중을 차지하는 부하이다. 본 논문은 부하로서의 유도전동기에 대하여 복잡하고 어려운 시뮬레이션의 해법을 해결하고자 하는 노력으로서, 일반적으로 알려져 있는 유도 전동기의 정태 등가회로를 이용하여 정태특성을 시뮬레이션하는 새로운 부하 모델을 제안하고, 파라미터를 알고 있는 유도전동기의 특성실험을 수행하였으며, 이 실험으로부터 얻어진 데이터를 제안된 정태 등가회로 해석에 의한 유도전동기의 부하모델 알고리즘에 적용하는 사례연구를 통하여 제안한 정태회로 해석에 의한 유도전동기 부하 모델의 효용성을 평가하였다.

  • 3상 4선식 배전계통을 채용하는 우리나라는 비선형 부하의 증가로 중성선에는 많은 중성선 고조파 전류가 관측되고 있다. 또한 접지 임피던스는 고조파가 있는 중성선 전류에 영향 끼친다고 알려져 있다. 전위 강하법에 따라 현장에서 실측한 고조파 전류와 전압을 측정하고, Pattern Search 기법으로 고조파 해석용 접지 임피던스를 모델링 하였다. 여기서 구한 임피던스 모델은 현장 시험에 의한 임피던스 모델과 비교하여 유사한 결과를 얻었고, 접지 시스템의 고조파 및 과도 응답 특성을 평가하는데 활용될 것으로 사료된다.

  • Two-dimensional Navier-Stokes codes are used to simulate the shock tunnel in Konkuk university. In order to design experiments in impulse facilities properly and to interpret data from such facilities, it is necessary to understand how the flow approaches steady state. This is done by determining the transient flow field and flow establishment time around a given model. This will be accomplished by developing appropriate CFD codes which solve the Navier-Stokes equations, and simulating the starting process and resulting unsteady viscous flow phenomena. The starting process in a shock tunnel consists of multiple shock interactions and contact discontinuities, which are difficult to solve with the classical shock capturing schemes. A recently developed high resolution scheme is adapted for resolving the unsteady phenomena of those multiple shock interactions and contact surfaces during the starting process. The bifurcation phenomenon due to the interactions of the reflected shock from the end of the shock tube with the boundary layer generated by the incident shock becomes of particular interest. By comparing with the experiment results, the accuracy of the numerical analysis is validated and it is demonstrated that the properties which can hardly be obtained through the experiment can be estimated.

  • 통합형 로켓 부스터 램제트(IRR) 엔진에서의 점화 및 램제트 단계에서의 유동 및 연소의 동적특성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 연구대상모델은 흡입구 전방 자유흐름 영역에서부터 노즐 출구까지 엔진 전체 유로가 포함되도록 하였으며, 로켓 부스터에 대한 연구를 통해 얻어진 유동장 계산 결과를 본 연구의 초기조건으로 사용함으로써 엔진의 작동 과정 전체에 대한 정보를 얻을 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구에서는 점화과정에서 화염전파에 가장 영향을 미치는 요소와 유동의 진동을 유발하고 지속시키는 메커니즘에 대해 연구를 수행하였다.

Stability analysis of a three-layer film casting process

  • The co-extrusion of multi-layer films has been studied with the focus on its process stability. As in the single-layer film casting process, the productivity of the industrially important multi-layer film casting and the quality of thus produced films have often been hampered by various instabilities occurring in the process including draw resonance, a supercritical Hopfbifurcation instability, frequently encountered when the draw ratio is raised beyond a certain critical value. In this study, this draw resonance instability along with the neck-in of the film width has been investigated for a three-layer film casting using a varying width non-isothermal 1-D model of the system with Phan-Thien and Tanner (PTT) constitutive equation known for its robustness in portraying extensional deformation processes. The effects of various process conditions, e.g., the aspect ratio, the thickness ratio of the individual film layers, and cooling of the process, on the stability have been examined through the nonlinear stability analysis.

  • This paper demonstrates an explicit-implicit, finite element analysis for linear as well as nonlinear hygrothermal stress problems. Additional features, such as moisture diffusion equation, crack element and virtual crack extension(VCE) method for evaluating J-integral are implemented in this program. The Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics(LEFM) Theory is employed to estimate the crack driving force under the transient condition for an existing crack. Pores in materials are assumed to be saturated with moisture in the liquid form at the room temperature, which may vaporize as the temperature increases. The vaporization effects on the crack driving force are also studied. The ideal gas equation is employed to estimate the thermodynamic pressure due to vaporization at each time step after solving basic nodal values. A set of field equations governing the time dependent response of porous media are derived from balance laws based on the mixture theory. Darcy's law is assumed for the fluid flow through the porous media. Perzyna's viscoplastic model incorporating the Von-Mises yield criterion are implemented. The Green-Naghdi stress rate is used for the invariant of stress tensor under superposed rigid body motion. Isotropic elements are used for the spatial discretization and an iterative scheme based on the full Newton-Raphson method is used for solving the nonlinear governing equations.

  • The use of high-Tc superconducting synchronous motor in power machinery has many advantages such as reduced power dissipation, size and weight. This paper presents the ac loss simulation in the rotor having an high-Tc superconducting field winding using Ag sheathed Bi-2223. The analysis was conducted with an equivalent model of the high-Tc superconducting motor with flux damper under transition condition during which the load varies from 0 watt to 250watts and from 250watts to 500watts. The simulation results show that the transient state lasts for about 3 seconds, and the ac losses decreased exponentially from the initial value above 20mW.

  • This paper describes the practical tuning method of dual-input PSS and its application to Muju P/P #2 with Proto PSS, which is based on DSP technology and uses both frequency and power. First, the model parameters of generator system used in this paper have been derived from the generator characteristic testing. Then, in the selection of PSS parameters, the Bode plot is plotted in order to tune the PSS's time constants which are able to compensate the phase lagging due to generator and excitation system. In addition, the eigenvalue analysis is also performed for determining a reliable PSS gain, $K_{s}$. Finally, the transient stability program has been utilized to verify the safe operation of Proto PSS against the predictable disturbances such as the AVR-step test and generator unloading test. In on-site test, the simulated results have been identically duplicated by implementing AVR step test in Muju P/P #2 with Proto PSS, which has the previously designed PSS parameters.s.
