  • The purpose of this study was to develop long and short-run educational programs for u-turn farmers based on their need assesment. This study was conducted by review of literature and surveys. Subjects of this surveys were 310 participants of agricultural training programs developed by the Rural Development Administration for u-turn farmers in 1997 and 1998. According to major findings, many participants were faced with problems such as financial shortage, deficiency of farming skills, difficulty of marketing, new neighbours unfavourable gazing and farm labour shortage. These problems could be classified into the problems at their preparing stage and the problems of adjusting stage in their farms. And also the participants suggested that educational programs for them contain knowledge based teaching and technical practices with focus on their problems solving. With their suggestion various knowledge and technical modules were selected. Using these module several kinds of long and short-run educational programs could be developed.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest implications for improving training performance by studying how the capacity of IPP workers and the characteristics of training programs affect the training performance through social support of employees. The study was conducted by distributing the online questionnaire to 270 IPP learning worker(of 9 university). As a result, it was found that the characteristics of the learning worker and the characteristics of training programs were positively related to the social support of the employees, and their social support was positively related to the training performance. The results of this study can contribute to the training performance when used as reference materials for selection of trainees and participating companies and development and operation of training courses. However, the limitation of this study is that the objectivity of the result is rather low by deriving the response centered on the recognition of the learning workers. In future studies, it is necessary to increase the objectivity of the results through three-dimensional cross-checks with training participants.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the problem areas in the current clinical training of biomedical laboratory science education which may guide the development of an effective strategy for managing clinical training for biomedical laboratory science students. A self-reporting questionnaire was developed by the researchers. This survey was conducted between May 1st and May 15st in 2009 and 92 questionnaires were collected from senior biomedical laboratory science students. In Analyzing data, chi-square test was used for categorical variables. 82.6% of respondents was satisfied with conditions of the training institutes. 30~40% of the respondents reported that they were not satisfied with the programs and supervision systems for training students even though the staff members of other disciplines were supportive in general. Although 83.7% of the respondents reported that they were obtaining information and knowledge for their professional carrier through the training, 70.7% of the respondents reported that they had negative experiences during the training. According to the result of the survey, it can be inferred that the structure of the training education needs to be more systematically organized in order to train the well prepared entry-level biomedical laboratory scientists.

  • The aim of this study was to explore the current status, and public policy issues related to child counselors, with a special focus on training programs and integrating such training into the national qualification system in Korea. The number of children manifesting various social and emotional developmental problems have increased recently. Thus, there is a clear and growing need for suitably qualified specialists to help them and their parents. Child counselors (CCs) are qualified specialists in child counseling and therapy. However, there are no national qualifications or training systems for CCs in Korea. Therefore, in this study, we proposed a Korean national qualification and training system of CCs by comparing the Korean Youth counselor's qualification, training and in-service training system, and with those of both Germany and the USA. In addition, this study suggested the inclusion of a practicum component and a suitable in-service training system for Korean CCs.

  • Since internships or field training provide students with opportunities to choose skills, business interests and aptitudes in the actual workplace, their significant role in higher education has been gradually emphasized. In particular, engineering students gain increased adaptability to the industry, enhance their research abilities and acquire field-based expertise through internships or field training. However, effective operation of such internships or field training often pose various limitations. In this regard, the development of a system to manage students properly is urgently required for the effective operation of internships or field training. Systematic management of a series of related information ranging from a survey on the demand for internships or field training, planning, development and operation of pre-training programs, student guidance through information sharing between universities and businesses, data-gathering with regard to students' difficulties and their requirements, to prospects for future employment. In line with these requirements, this study attempts to present a modeling scheme for the development of a student management system for use in internships or field training. Towards this end, a questionnaire survey is conducted with engineering professors, students and graduates, along with a review of related literature to identify the needs for system development. Based on the results, a model of the system will be proposed through expert consultation.

  • Since then the aviation industry developed dramatically through the two world wars. As these high-performance aircraft were developed, pilots' training has also changed. While initial pilots' training focused on acquiring the navigation and flight skills necessary for pilots to fly an aircraft, nowadays current training focuses on understanding the system, situation awareness and decision making accordingly, and human factor management among the pilots. The result of pilot training that has achieved continuous change and development is the current Evidence-Based Training. This study aims to determine how situation awareness, problem solving and decision making and workload management, which are core elements of Evidence-Based Training, affect pilot's resilience for safe aircraft operation, and to reflect this in the development and composition of Evidence-Based Training programs to contribute to improving the resilience of individual flight crew members.

  • The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities(IALA) model course recommends specific aspects of basic curriculums for Vessel Traffic Services(VTS) operator education such as modules, course hours, contents, etc. Most domestic training programs for newly appointed VTS operators comply with such recommendations. The objective of this study is to determine whether such modules for VTS operator training recommended by the current IALA model course correspond to the actual opinions of VTS operators who are currently working in the field. To this end, the relative importance of basic modules for vessel traffic services operator training was analyzed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method. A questionnaire was designed to include 8 modules recommended by the IALA model course, and the survey results of 52 individuals working at 5 VTS centers were analyzed. The result showed that, unlike the assumption by the IALA, domestic VTS operators viewed Nautical Knowledge as the most important modules, followed by Emergency Situations, Traffic Management, Language, Equipment, VHF Radio, Communication Co-ordination, and Personal Attributes, in that order.

  • This study was to investigate the dffects of a color reversal visual perceptual training program on spastic cerebral palsied children's figure-ground discrimination disabilities and to investigate the difference between the control group and experimental group. Subjects of the study were composed of children with spastic cerebral palsy whose age varied from five to seven years old, whose I.Q. was over 70 and whose P.Q. was over 70. Implication of this study can be summarized as follows; First, Perceptual training and speech training programs should be emphasized to improve the preparative ability of spastic cerebral palsied children. Problems of perception cerebral palsied children are concerned with figure-ground discrimination disability. Second, Though it was demonstrated that color reversal visual perceptual training program can be effective through the prestudies and this study, more researches should be made to apply this kind of theory in real education environments. More interest in different color forms for training of cerebral palsied children should be taken. Third, Reprecations of the study should be considered with modified group identities(age, I.Q., P.Q.).

  • From 2010, an "excellent engineer" undergraduate and graduate program had been initiated in higher education of China to promote the development of industry and social economy. In this circumstance, the engineering education programs in Dalian Maritime University are reformed to satisfy the requirements of transportation industries. And the engineering practice, engineering activities, and engineering courses are emphasized. In this training program, industrial communities are deeply involved in the engineering education and training procedure; the students are educated and trained in university and enterprise according to the common standards and industrial standards; and the engineering competences and creative ability are emphasized and are to be enhanced in the training schedules and procedure. A joint-training mode has been established already between Dalian Maritime University and enterprises in transportation fields.
