초고속 자기부상철도 개발을 위한 시스템엔지니어링 계획서 (Systems Engineering Plan for the Development of Ultra-High-Speed Maglev Train System)

  • The systems engineering (SE) process shall be applied to the project for successful development of ultra-high-speed (UHS) Maglev train system which is one of very large and complex systems. It is important to abolish technology differentials from the advanced developers such as Germany, Japan, etc. and to ensure discriminatory competitiveness of the application of systems engineering process for the development of the system based on appropriate concepts and requirements. General operation concept and stakeholder's requirements of UHS Maglev train system must be elicited with system concept for initiating the project. The management plan should be devised for all sorts of systems engineering activities of risk management, performance management, lifecycle cost management, etc. This paper would support to establish the systems engineering management plan (SEMP) for the program of UHS Maglev train system development with associated documents.

  • The pantograph for Korean High Speed Train was developed and had been evaluating by through 'G7-R&D project' for home grown high speed train technology. In this paper, from the point of view in mechanical aspect, comparison study on the current collection characteristics between the KHST pantograph and contact wire in catenary system on the High-Speed Line and Ho-Nam/Kyoung-Bu conventional lines is conducted. A measuring system for the performance and mechanical characteristics of the KHST pantograph is used for this study, which was developed and installed on the Proto-type Korean High Speed Train, and physical characteristics were measured while the KHST runs on the High-Speed Line and conventional lines. Through this study, remarkable variations of characteristics which can affect to a current collection quality of high-speed train are found and analyzed from measured mean contact forces in both tracks.

  • This paper represents the results carried out to determine the dynamic response characteristics of Korea High Speed Rail(KHSR) bridges. The responses of the KHSR bridges subjected to the moving train loading are obtained through the simplified method for the 2-dimensional train/track/bridge interaction analysis in which the eccentricity of axle loads and the effect of the torsional forces acting on the bridge are included for the more accurate train/track/bridge interaction analysis. The results of the analyses are compared with the field test data to verify the performance of the 2-dimensional train/track/bridge interaction analysis method.

  • Energy saving is an important topic for each heavy user of the power system, including railway operators. Therefore, four strategy of train operations studied that maximum speed reduction, reduced acceleration rate, anticipatory coasting, and saw-tooth coasting for energy saving. The Simulation model of the study used to investigate the performance of a railway system, and it was used to study the effect of energy saving strategies for the train operation. The Study investigate train operation strategy for energy saving, investigate the effect of strategy, and find the energy optimization of acceleration, coasting, braking section used Run-Curve simulator from train data.

  • The KTX, which have opened the revenue service in April 2004, is operating in Kyoung-Bu high-speed line and electrified conventional Ho-Nam line, and the more the electrification are enlarged, the more the requirement of operating of high speed train would be increased. In this paper, the result of test run and evaluation on the suitability of operating high speed train in electrified conventional line between Dae-jeon and East Dae-gu was reviewed. Evaluation and analysis was executed in specific categories, such as operation & running performance of the train considering vibration characteristics based on UIC 518, ride comfort and current collection, and response sensitivity of ATS device for signalling from track facility. The result of this running test was evaluated and considered as a good practice for revenue operation of high speed train in electrified conventional line between Dae-jeon and Dae-gu.

  • The objective of this study is to understand the dynamic characterictics of OHV type valve trains and to design and optimal cam profile which will improve engine performance. A numerical model for valve train dynamics is presented, which aims at both accuracy and computational efficiency. The lumped mass model and distributed parameter model were used to describe the valve train dynamics. Nonlinear characterictics in the valve spring behavior were included in the model. Comprehensive experiments were carried out concerning the valve train dynamics, and the model was tuned based on the test results. The dynamic model was used in designing an optimal cam profile. Because the objective function has many local minima, a conventional local optimizer cannot be used to find an optimal solution. A modified adaptive random search method is successfully employed to solve the problem. Cam lobe area could be increased up to 7.3% without any penalties in kinematic and dynamic behaviors of the valve train.

  • Recently, there has been growing necessity to estimate the future travel demand of high speed train because the circumstance of high speed train service is rapidly changing with the launching of 2011 second stage of Gyeongbu high speed railway(Dongdaegu-Busan) and the completion of 2014 first stage of Honam high speed railway(Yongsan-Gwangju), etc. This study was designed to estimate future travel demand by analyzing the transport performance and train service characteristics of Gyeongbu and Honam line. This study presents the maximum load section and the changed future travel demand, which will be applied to establish a train operation plan.

  • A nose shape is strongly related with the aerodynamic performances of train. Therefore shape definition and aerodynamic performance analysis are important for train nose shape design. In this study, a new design method was suggested for train nose shape design by configuration function. To this end, the nose shape was classified by box type and each box shape is defined. After that the 3-D shape of train was defined as several mathematical functions by combination of each box shape. Also it was shown that the wind shield of driver's seat and complex curves of surface can be expressed using superposition of functions. This methodology can be used for grid generation of numerical analysis, and applied to aerodynamic optimization design of nose shape.

  • The application of the tilting train is one of the most efficient ways to increase curving speed of train on existing tracks or on mountain railway lines with sharp curves. It can increase the running speed and ensure the passenger comfort and safety at the same time. Therefore, the development of tilting train has been paid high attention by many countries in the world. Tilting trains have been operated successfully in many countries such as Italy, Spain, Germany, Sweden, England and so on. The tilting trains possess broad prospects in raising speeds. The distributed EMU tilting train set will be developed according to the Korea railway conditions and will be operated on the Honam line, Janghang line and Jungang line. Because there is high percentage of curves on these lines. these lines are suited to operating tilting trains to raising speed and saving passenger traveling time. In order. to improve the curving performance of the tilling train. the active-control algorithm is utilized for the tilting bogie.

  • A first evaluation of the possibilities of high speed trains in conventional railway in Korea have been investigated. The radius of curvature was considered the major problem with high-speed trains in Korea. If KNR(Korea National railway) likes to increase the speed, is then whether KNR shall construct straigthen the track or develop a train that can reduce travel time in curves The research concerns structural design of train car-body is to reduce heavy stress concentration. Using 3D solid modeling, Finite Element analysis and shape optimization combined with powerful postprocessing, graphical display and animation to achieve complete and accurate design and performance will be carried out further project Main purpose of this project is to provide korean tilting train car body's conceptional design. Based on first year research results, the design of car-body will be performed by train manufacture.
