전통시장 활성화 방법에 관한 실제적 연구 (Practical Study on Methods to Revitalize Traditional Market)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 상권 활성화 사업에 대한 깊이 있는 사업내용과 추진과정을 논하여 전통시장 활성화 사업에 대한 평가에 긍정적 영향을 미치기 위함이다. 연구방법은 전통시장 활성화 사업에 대한 실제적 방법을 사용한다. 먼저 활성화 방법을 장소의 활성화는 올덴버그의 '제3의 장소'와 카르 외 공저자의'공공공간의 다섯 가지 요구'의 개념을 살펴보고 비대면 거래 관련 이론을 고찰하였다. 선행연구를 조사한 후 본 연구의 차이점을 논하였다. 첫 번째 연구는 청주 글로벌시장 육성사업(성안길 상점가‧육거리종합시장)의 상권 활성화 사업으로 오픈스페이스 활성화, 재현을 통한 활성화, 축제를 통한 활성화를 논하였다. 오픈스페이스 활성화는 중앙공원 리모델링과 용두사지철당간(국보 제41호) 야간경관 사업으로, 전자는 충청북도 문화재위원회의 문화재 현상변경을, 후자는 문화재청의 문화재 현상변경을 득하여 추진된 과정을 설명하였다. 재현을 통한 활성화 사업은 청주의 정체성이지만, 육거리종합시장에 매몰되어 있는 '남석교'의 추정 위치에 상징적인 조형물을 설치한 사업으로 차선책을 선택한 사유를 설명하였다. 축제를 통한 활성화는 코리아세일페스타로 전통시장과 상점가의 매출 증대와 오픈스페이스의 유동인구로 활기가 넘친 사업이다. 두 번째 연구는 문화관광형 육성사업(한민시장)으로 지역 브랜드와 SNS 콘텐츠 개발을 통한 활성화를 논하였다. 전자는 '한민 7품'이라는 브랜드의 홍보마케팅에 관한 내용이고, 후자는 한민시장 홈페이지, 인스타그램, 유튜브 채널에 올린 한민 사피엔스, 레시피송, Shorts 등이다. 결론에서는 6개 프로젝트와 상권 활성화 방법의 관계를 논하면서 디자인 기획에서 지역 특성 반영의 중요성을 언급하면서 정책제언을 하였다. 본 연구가 전통시장 활성화 사업이 관련된 이해관계자가 제도적 한계 속에서 긍정적 결과물을 만들기 위해 매우 많이 노력하고 있다는 긍정적 평가에 활용되길 기대한다.

  • Changes in consumer purchasing patterns due to construction of large Western-style commercial buildings and introduction of new purchasing methods in South Korea in the 1990s led to a gradual decline in traditional markets. Under such a new environment, Yukgeori market, one of Korea's exemplary markets, has continued to develop and survive, while maintaining the traditional market form of Korea, both physically and operationally. Therefore, to find the characteristics of spatial configurations supporting the revitalization of traditional market, we deduced social attributes of spaces in street network of Cheongju city and the neighborhood including Yukgeori market by calculating the depths of nodes in the network using analysis models based on space syntax. The results illustrated that long street with the function to attract people and acts as a bridge of traffic and communication between highly modernized commercial area and traditional market can lead to continuous win-win development of both areas and the revitalization of traditional market through the promotion of social activities in the market. We expect that sound and sustainable development of contemporary cities, which lost tradition, will be achieved through the results of this study.

  • 본 연구는 경상북도를 사례로 1990년대 말부터 추진한 재래시장 활성화 정책의 효과를 평가해보는데 주된 목적이 있다. 재래시장 활성화를 위해 추진한 시장의 시설현대화와 경영현대화사업의 효과에 대한 정성적 평가결과, 각각 그 효과는 미약한 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 기존의 재래시장 활성화 정책이 재래시장의 공간경쟁력 강화에 대한 고려가 부족하였기 때문으로 보인다. 이에 본 연구에서는 재래시장의 공간경쟁력을 강화하는데 역점을 둔 대안적인 재래시장 활성화 정책을 모색 제안하였다.

전통시장 활성화를 위한 공공공간 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Public Space for Traditional Market Revitalization)

  • 도시의 대표적 공공장소인 전통시장의 활성화를 위하여 노력해 왔으나 결과는 만족스럽지 못한 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내 도시의 전통시장 활성화를 위한 계획 및 설계방법론에 있어서의 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 전통시장 재생의 선진사례로 알려진 보스턴 '퀸시마켓'과 밴쿠버 '그랜빌 아일랜드 공설시장'을 대상지로 선정하여 공공공간을 중심으로 이론적 고찰과 사례분석을 진행하였다. 사례분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전통시장을 구성하는 다양한 공간 및 시설은 연계를 통하여 상승효과를 나타낸다. 둘째, 전통시장 이용객을 위한 다양한 공공공간이 시장건물과 오픈스페이스에 조성되었다. 셋째, 전통시장에서 판매하는 음식·음료를 공공공공에서 취식할 수 있으며, 만남, 휴식, 공연 및 행사가 공공공간에서 이루어지고 있다. 넷째, 단일화된 집행력을 갖는 회사 또는 비영리주체가 시장운영을 담당하거나 참여하고 있다.

A Study on Conversion of Seongnam Dandae Traditional Market into Wedding Market

  • In 2014, Seongnam municipal government announced Sanseongro Commercial Area Revitalization including Dandae traditional market with active support of Seongnam municipal government. This study investigated conversion of Dandae market into specialized market to overcome economic stagnation and to make success case of wedding market. The study suggested supplementation of current problems as well as incidental businesses. The study gave SWOT analysis and management reformation to make success case of specialized market and to suggest win-win strategies and development plans to produce wedding market.

전통시장 상권 활성화에 대한 상인들의 의식구조 고찰 : S상권을 중심으로 (Consideration of Traditional Markets' Impact on the Self-Consciousness of Retailers: A Focus on the S Marketing Area)

  • Purpose - This study used empirical methods to investigate the consciousness structure of vendors in the S marketing area, which is a commercial revitalization district in the country, and examined its effect on their business activities. Based on the results derived through the performance of an actual proof analysis, this study aims to facilitate the promotion of changes in the consciousness structures of traditional market vendors, with a view to allowing them to adapt to the current economic realities in the country. Further, this study aims to provide suggestions that would improve the efficiency of the commercial revitalization program of the government. Research design, data, and methodology - This study examined all the stores in the S marketing area using a questionnaire survey conducted over three weeks beginning on July 4, 2012, and involved the performance of a data analysis on 1,859 samples. The questionnaire consisted of two parts. The first part addressed the market revitalization and the second part addressed the store management strategies. Questionnaire responses were calibrated based on a Likert scale. Statistical analysis was conducted using PASW version 18.0. Results - The results of the analysis of the consciousness structure of merchants in the S marketing area have led to the discovery that they have a medium level of satisfaction with market revitalization. There was a difference in the perceptions of the concept of store management between merchants and customers. Merchants have poor strategies for store management, which do not go much beyond an imitation of the practices of large domestic discount stores. Conclusions - The appearance of big discount stores and the accompanying changes in people's consumption patterns have led to a decline in local market areas. The government has sought new ways to secure autogenic power for local markets. To create regional economies, the government enacted a revised "Law for creating traditional markets and shopping streets" in 2010 and introduced a commercial district revitalization program. This program, which originally supported only the S marketing area, has subsequently expanded into neighboring shopping districts so that the whole of the regional market can be revitalized. However, since the revitalization of the traditional market and the government support required for it were mostly limited to facilities, the result has not proved to be effective. Although there are several reasons why the government investment was characterized by poor efficiency, traditional market vendors' consciousness structure, which did not adapt well to the vagaries of time and its consequent changes, was a major cause. Only when vendors have a true merchant spirit can they have a real service focus that will enable them to clearly understand the distribution organization. This will have the effect of bring about complete customer satisfaction and will ensure the survival and development of traditional markets.

대형할인점에 인접한 전통시장의 활성화방안: 명일동지역의 사례를 중심으로 (Revitalization of Traditional Market Places near the Grand Supermarket in Urban Areas: Focusing on the Case of Myung-Il Dong District)

  • 본 연구는 전통시장이 위축되는 현실 상황의 인식하에서 도심지역의 대형할인점에 인접한 전통시장 활성화 방안을 제시하기 위해 시도된 사례연구이다. 즉 전통시장 이용자들을 대상으로 고객만족도에 영향을 미치는 영향요인들을 실증적으로 분석하여 전통시장의 강점을 살리는 강화전략으로 제시하고, 인접한 대형할인점 이용자들을 대상으로 한 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 전통시장 활성화의 보완전략으로 제시하였다. 명일동에 위치한 명일시장의 고객 중 총 63명으로부터 수집한 자료를 바탕으로 회귀분석을 통해 도출된 가격요인과 위생요인은 전통시장의 강화전략 요인으로, 인근의 대형할인점인 강동 홈플러스 고객 중 100명으로부터 수집된 자료분석을 통해서 도출된 서비스 요인과 입지 요인은 전통시장의 활성화를 위한 보완전략으로 제시하였다. 또한 전통시장의 상인 18명을 대상으로 한 별도의 의견조사 결과를 종합하여 전통시장 활성화를 위한 정책방안으로 제시하였다.

연구동향 탐색을 통한 전통시장 활성화 방안 연구 (Research on Ways to Revitalize Traditional Markets by Exploring Research Trends)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the research trends in the papers published by Korean researchers related to traditional markets, to check what topics have been studied, and to make various suggestions for research directions and effective ways to revitalize traditional markets. Research design, data and methodology: To this end, this study conducted word frequency analysis, co-occurrence frequency analysis, BERTopic, LDA, dynamic topic modeling and OLS regression analysis using Python 3.7 on the English abstracts of a total of 502 papers extracted through ScienceON. Results: As a result of word frequency analysis and co-occurrence frequency analysis, it was found that studies related to traditional markets have been conducted not only on factors related to customers, but also on traditional market merchants and government policies, and the degree of service, quality, and satisfaction perceived by customers using traditional markets. Through BERTopic and LDA, three topics such as 'Traditional market safety management' were identified, and among them, it was found that 'Traditional market safety management' is relatively less attention by researchers. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that future research on the revitalization of traditional markets should be conducted from a specific consulting perspective along with the establishment of various data, a causal model study from various perspectives such as the characteristics of merchants as well as consumers, and an integrated and convergent approach to policy formulation by the government and local governments.

  • Today, the marketplace environment is changing faster and more dramatically than ever before. With the rapid growth of Internet Shopping mall, electronic commerce transaction, we have big changes on distribution fields. At this circumstances, traditional markets cannot help suffering from serious contraction and market failure between highly advanced department store and internet based shopping mall giving lower prices and higher customer satisfaction program. In addition, traditional markets have made an critical role on our retail markets for a long time, but they confront a crucial crisis on nationwide owing to external markets circumstance change and internal factors. In this study, we made efforts to suggest rational political scheme to recover many difficulties as analyzing market factors affecting traditional market, such as, modernized management skill, specialized items, customers satisfactions program, and so forth.

A Study on the Revitalization of Traditional Liquor Distribution: Focus on Social Enterprises

  • Purpose - The purpose of the study is to promote the adoption of traditional liquor product contents in order to revitalize the market and to increase consumer awareness of traditional liquor. Research design, data, methodology - In this study, the 4P relationship model was evaluated that included the self-supporting business of traditional liquor, continuous business, diversification of the types of the liquor, and discovery of preliminary social enterprises for the distribution of the liquor. Results - The study suggested a 4P relationship model that consisted of traditional liquor as the product, traditional market as the place, promotion within traditional market, and payment of labor costs. In other words, selection of the traditional liquor product, place, rental supports, distribution and delivery strategies, operations, public relations and training, foundation of social enterprises, and discussion between departments. Conclusions - The central government, local governments, and merchants (the market association) should actively cooperate with each other to revitalize the market for traditional liquor. Social enterprises that rely on a non-profit business model are likely to revitalize the traditional liquor market.
