유아사 야스오(탕천태웅(湯淺泰雄))의 경락학설(經絡學說)에 대(對)한 소고(小考) (A Study on Yuasa Yasuo's Meridian Theory)

  • Objective : This paper introduces a unique meridian theory developed by Japanese philosopher Yuasa Yasuo. Method : His meridian theory is well organized in his philosophy, so we systematically review his major works and philosophy from which we systematize his meridian theory. And we critically examine it with current studies. Results and Conclusions : He tried to overcome Cartesian mind-body dualism by Eastern thought and newly developing neurophysiology. He articulated "body scheme" from human information systems, primarily nervous system and meridian system, which regulate physiological functions. It consists of 1st external sensory motor circuit, 2nd circuit of coenesthesis, 3rd emotion-instinct circuit and 4th circuit of unconscious quasi-body. Meridian system is the 4th circuit, through which he thought various affect(emotion) flows. Based on the relationship of emotion-autonomic nervous system- meridian-skin, he tried to confirm the existence of meridian system. His theory illuminates mind-body problem and emotion-meridian relationship in traditional East Asian medicine.

도교(道敎) 내단사상(內丹思想)과 한의학에서 바라본 수승화강(水升火降)의 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on Body Water Rising and Heat Falling through Taoism Nae-dan thought and Traditional Korean Medicine)

  • Traditional Korean Medicine and Taoism think of the importance of a life nurturing for one's health and longevity. However, for a life nurturing, Traditional Korean Medicine aims at a person living up to one's natural life span. Taoism lays importance on ascending up to the sky to be a Taoist hermit with supernatural powers. Therefore, they both differ in the pursuit of their goals and their methods in doing respectively. In this study we have shown similarities and differences in the meaning and ways to practice su-seung-hwa-gang (body water rising and heat falling) which Traditional Korean Medicine and Taoism regard highly as a means of the practice of a life nurturing. Su-seung-hwa-gang is a concept that both Traditional Korean Medicine and Taoism set a high value on and at the same time it is a concrete method of a life nurturing demonstrating the possibility of 'non-disease treatment' through the active efforts of Traditional Korean Medicine.

한국 근.현대 주택작품에서 나타나는 전통성 해석의 시대적 경향 (Tendency of Traditional Character in Korean Modern House Architecture as an Art Work)

  • Since modernization period thru Japanese colonial era the modern architect began to play a important role for Korean housing architecture. So called 'House as an Art Work', detached houses by prominent architects, belong to a meaningful sector in Korean modern housing architecture. The harmony with tradition was always big issue for such works. This study aims to understand how paradigms for tradition were interpreted with the changes of the time. The analysis showed various tryout by architects, that concretize traditional characteristics in their work. For example, traditional lifestyle were clearly reflected in the floorplan during 30's and 40's. In the 70's building mass and formative roof design were emphasized to present traditional image. As well as it represented primitive esthetic and vernacular decoration. In addition, expressive tendency, that demonstrates korean sentiment through material and its texture, got a preference. Since latter half of 80's some traditional architectural elements were modernized and space characteristics were newly created from acculturation. Furthermore the philosophy of "Subdivision of building wings and Emptiness" follows this trend. This type made a courtyard and connected articulated building masses each other. "Sympathy with Nature" were most essential for a traditional houses in contrast with western architecture. Many architects today make various method to bring nature into interior space and to contemplate nature In the house. Such kinds of adaptation to tradition could be understood as a unique process to manifest identity of Korean modern houses.

등석(鄧析)의 재발견: 혜시(惠施) 철학의 연원을 찾아서 (Deng Xi Revisited: Search for the Origin of Hui Shi's Philosophy)

  • 이 논문은 혜시(惠施) 철학이 '천지일체(天地一體)'를 지향하였으나 끝내 그에 이르지 못한 철학이라는 저평가를 바로잡고자 기획되었다. 이를 위해서는 혜시 철학의 연원과 '천지일체'에 도달하는 혜시만의 독특한 방식을 규명해야 하는데, 이의 관건이 등석(鄧析)에게 있다고 보았다. 그래서 우선 혜시 철학의 연원에 관한 이제껏 분분하였던 다양한 견해들을 살피고 그것들의 한계를 지적하였다. 다음에는, 등석이라는 새로운 대안에 주목하였다. 등석에 대한 탐구는 현존하는 "등석자(鄧析子)"의 두 편명인 '무후(無厚)'와 '전사(轉辭)'에 함축되어 있는 의미를 중국 고대철학사의 맥락에서 논구하는 것으로 이루어졌다. 그 결과, 등석의 '무후'가 상고(上古)시대로부터 춘추말기(春秋末期)까지 절대의 준거였던 상제(上帝)와 천(天)이 인간사에 더 이상 개입할 수 없는 무효(無效)의 존재로 전락되고 말았음을 상징한다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 '전사'는 인간들 사이에서 생겨난 문제를 천명(天命)이 아닌 인간의 명변(名辯), 혹은 생각 또는 말로써 해결하겠다는 의식의 반영임을 보았다. 끝으로 이러한 등석의 사상으로부터 혜시 철학의 연원과 '천지일체'에 도달하는 혜시만의 독특한 방식의 해명을 시도하였다.

임상약학 교육을 위한 수련과정 (Clerkship on Clinical Pharmacy Education)

  • The goal of this clerkship is to expose the student to basic skills needed fir a patient oriented pharmacist to assume an existing clinical role and participate in therapeutic decision making processes. As the pharmacy profession has moved from the traditional product orientation to a patient orientation, curricula within the college of pharmacy have evolved to include more experiential coursework to lister this patient orientation. This change has been supported by the philosophy of pharmaceutical care which encourages pharmacists to assume a patient advocacy role in optimizing a patient's drug therapy while minimizing the adverse effects of the medication. The role of experiential education, and especially the clerkship experience will be to hasten and enhance the development of this concept and philosophy for pharmacy students.

접힘 건축에 나타난 위상기하학적 공간 개념에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Concept of Topological Space shown Folding in Architecture)

  • Since 1990s, several rising western architects have been moving their theoretical background from the modern paradigm to new science and philosophy. Architectural spaces are based on the philosophy and science of their own age and the architectural theories made by them. And specially, it seems that topological spaces are different to theoretical backgrounds from idealized spaces of modern architecture. From these backgrounds, this study was performed to search for the spacial relationship and characteristics shown in the recently folding architecture and the results of this study that starts this purpose are as follows. First, the architecture that introduced by the theory of topology has appeared as the circulation forms like as Mobius band or Klein bottle, and was made the space fused with structure pursuing liquid properties of matter. As follows, second, the concept of topological space made the division of traditional concept of floor, wall, ceiling disappeared and had built up the space by continual transformation. Third, about the relationship between two spaces in topological space, the two spaces were happened by transformation of these and they have always continuity and the same quality.

  • The types of China Ancientry Architecture are rich and colorful. Among all these architectures, the Traditional Residence Architecture have the closest relationship with the mass's life. Traditional Residence Architecture reflected the connotation of the culture, philosophy ideology, especially the relationship between dwelling house and the nature, which can't be ignored by our modern people as well as the modern design. Beijing Sahap-won residence architecture is one of the apotheosis of China Traditional Residence Architecture, it'svery suitable for family's habitation. There's brilliance layout in space; around symmetry and radioactivity in plane, discretion grade in line, independence and continuity in inner spatial, with high privacy and benignity, Before the development and explore of modern APT Architecture design, we should fully understand the feature of Ancientry Residence House, inherit and carry forward its culture. The proposed design is started from the consolidation of the traditional feature of Beijing Sahap-won and the modern residence architecture, therefore to satisfy the modern people's fierce pursuing to the traditional culture.

Mathematics Education as a Humanities Form of Education-A Brief Introduction to the History of the Philosophy of Mathematics Education

  • Mathematics holds a key position among many subjects of school education. Besides having an instrumental value, mathematics for the general public has been underestimated. Thus, in this paper we examine how western educational theorists have emphasized the value of mathematics as humanities form of education. First of all, we discuss Platonism as a philosophical basis of the ancient Greek mathematics education. Next, we examine the thoughts of Froebel, who provided the theoretical basis for the public education since 19th century, and discuss the value of mathematics teaching in their humanistic educational thoughts. Also, we examine the humanistic value of mathematics education in Dewey\\`s educational philosophy, which criticized the traditional western ethics and epistemology, and established instrumentalism. In this paper, we recognize the humanistic values of mathematics education through the historical examination of the philosophies of mathematics education.

종교의 영향을 받은 동아시아 복식미의 연구 - 불교.도교.유교를 중심으로 - (A Study on East Asian Costume Beauty, Affected by Religion - Focusing on Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism -)

  • Asia Folk Costumes are certainly different from the Western Costumes. This distinction is based upon the effect of environment, technology, and social structure, and especially, which was generated by religion, ideology, and philosophy. The ideas of fundamental ground of this eastern features are religions such as Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. The religion of the East has determined the form of traditional costumes, affecting the costume up to now. This study aims at the investigation of the effect of religion on the formation of East Asia Traditional Costumes around Korea, China, and Japan and its figurative beauty. Study was carried out by chiefly referring to literatures. Eastern Aesthetics was formed by accepting aesthetic concepts, acquired from the idea of Three Religions. Especially, the ideas of non-duality(不二), emptiness(空), five aggregates(五蘊), mind control(心法), derived by Buddhism, and nature theory(自然論) and creationism(創造論) of Taoism, and abstinence theory(節制論) and decorum(禮法) and the principles of Yin and Yang(陰陽) of confucianism have had great effect on the aesthetics of costume. The figurative features of costume, affected by three religions are described by the factors; First, non structural feature, second, the beauty of abstinence and chastity of ample silhouette, third, the feature of natural color and achromatic color, fourth, the figurative feature of costume by the principles of Yin and Yang, and fifth, bright ornaments. The aesthetic values of the East Asia Costume are 'A Beauty of Vacancy', 'A Beauty of Concealment', 'A Beauty of Nature', and 'A Beauty of Symbolism'. As philosophy, culture, and ethnics itself, the religions of Asia have had effect on the overall culture, which is inclusive of social structure, as well as art and aesthetics, and have decided the style of costume.

맥도웰의 경험주의적 자연주의 (John McDowell's Empiricistic Naturalism)

  • 이 글의 목적은 20세기 후반기부터 이어져 오는 영어권 철학의 자연주의적 흐름 안에서, 맥도웰의 위치를 가늠하고, 맥도웰의 논의가 보다 더 설득력을 갖기 위해 나아가야 할 방향을 제안하는 데 있다. 맥도웰의 주된 철학적 기획은 전통철학자들을 마음과 세계 사이에서 동요하게 했던 불안을 잠재우는 것이다. 세계의 편에 서면 불가해한 '주어진 것'에 호소하게 되고, 마음의 편에 서면 제약 없는 상대주의에 빠져든다. 전통적 철학적 불안을 치유하기 위해, 맥도웰이 궁극적으로 의도하는 것은 실용주의를 바탕으로, '지각'에 모종의 인식론적 우선성을 부여하는 경험주의적 직관을 도입하는 것이다. 비록 이러한 맥도웰의 논의는 전통적인 철학이 직면하는 방법론상의 난점을 피하는 데는 성공적으로 보이지만, 판단의 모형으로 지각적 판단을 제시하면서, 다시 한 번 '주어진 것의 신화'에 빠져든다는 의혹을 불러온다. 필자는 체험주의에 의존하면서, 맥도웰이 이러한 의혹을 피하기 위해서 지각적 판단과 추상적인 형태의 판단과의 관계를 해명할 필요가 있다는 점을 제안한다. 체험주의는 신체화된 경험을 통해 그러한 관계의 해명 가능성을 보여 준다.
