  • The robust output tracking control problem of general nonlinear MIMO systems is discussed. The robustness against parameter uncertainties is considered. In this paper, we proposed the robust output tracking control scheme for a class of MIMO nonlinear dynamical systems using output feedback linearization method. The presented control scheme is based on the VSS. We assume that the nonlinear dynamical system is minimum phase, the relative degree of the system is r$_{1}$+r$_{2}$+…r$_{m}$$\leq$ n and zero dynamics is stable. It is shown that the outputs of the closed-loop system asymptotically track given output trajectories despite the uncertainties while maintaining the boundedness of all signals inside the loop. And we verified that the proposed control scheme is then applied to the control of a two degree of freedom (DOF) robotic manipulator with payload.d.

  • In this paper, an output tracking control technique of discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy systems is developed. The TS fuzzy system is represented as an uncertain multiple linear system. The tracking problem of TS fuzzy system is converted into the stabilization problem of a uncertain multiple linear system. A sufficient condition for asymptotic tracking is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). A design example is illustrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper considers a global asymptotic output tracking problem with a prescribed constant reference signal for a class of single-input and single output-output nonlinear systems. It is shown that under some mild conditions on such a system there is a smooth output feedback achieving global asymptotic output tracking and such a smooth output controller is explicitly constructed by a new design method proposed. The usefulness of our result is illustrated by a numerical example.

  • With the prolific growth of cable, satellite digital broadcasting and internet related industry, new digital contents are being demanded. Today, more end-users seek participations in the media through interactivity. Visual tracking technology, based on image processing, is mainly used in fields of human face tracking, security inspection, and traffic monitoring applications. In this research, we describe the interactive modules such as information display, e1-commerce and other services along with on-screen visuals on the streaming media using object visual tracking technology. • In this paper, an improved predictive functional control (PFC) scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control system is proposed, on account of the standard PFC method cannot provides a satisfying disturbance rejection performance in the case of strong disturbances. The PFC-based method is first introduced in the control design of speed loop, since the good tracking and robustness properties of the PFC heavily depend on the accuracy of the internal model of the plant. However, in orthodox design of prediction model based control method, disturbances are not considered in the prediction model as well as the control design. A minimum-order observer (MOO) is introduced to estimate the disturbances, which structure is simple and can be realized at a low computational load. This paper adopted the MOO to observe the load torque, and the observations are then fed back into PFC model to rebuild it when considering the influence of perturbation. Therefore, an improved PFC strategy with torque compensation, called the PFC+MOO method, is presented. The validity of the proposed method was tested via simulation and experiments. Excellent results were obtained with respect to the speed trajectory tracking, stability, and disturbance rejection.

  • This paper proposed a recognition method of english calling card using both 4-directed contour tracking algorithm and enhanced ART1 algorithm. After we extract candidate character string region using horizontal smearing and 4-directed contour tracking method, we extract character string region through comparison of character region and non-character region using horizontal and vertical ratio and area in english calling card. In extracted character string region, we extract each character using horizontal smearing and contour tracking algorithm, and recognize each character by enhanced ART1 algorithm. The proposed ART1 algorithm is enhanced by dynamic control of similarity using fuzzy sum connective operator. The result indicate that the proposed method is superior in performance.

  • A load-following operation in APR+ nuclear plants is necessary to reduce the need to adjust the boric acid concentration and to efficiently control the control rods for flexible operation. In particular, a disproportion in the axial flux distribution, which is normally caused by a load-following operation in a reactor core, causes xenon oscillation because the absorption cross-section of xenon is extremely large and its effects in a reactor are delayed by the iodine precursor. A model predictive control (MPC) method was used to design an automatic load-following controller for the integrated thermal power level and axial shape index (ASI) control for APR+ nuclear plants. Some tracking controllers employ the current tracking command only. On the other hand, the MPC can achieve better tracking performance because it considers future commands in addition to the current tracking command. The basic concept of the MPC is to solve an optimization problem for generating finite future control inputs at the current time and to implement as the current control input only the first control input among the solutions of the finite time steps. At the next time step, the procedure to solve the optimization problem is then repeated. The support vector regression (SVR) model that is used widely for function approximation problems is used to predict the future outputs based on previous inputs and outputs. In addition, a genetic algorithm is employed to minimize the objective function of a MPC control algorithm with multiple constraints. The power level and ASI are controlled by regulating the control banks and part-strength control banks together with an automatic adjustment of the boric acid concentration. The 3-dimensional MASTER code, which models APR+ nuclear plants, is interfaced to the proposed controller to confirm the performance of the controlling reactor power level and ASI. Numerical simulations showed that the proposed controller exhibits very fast tracking responses.

  • Human detection is a challenging task in many fields because it is difficult to detect humans due to their variable appearance and posture. Furthermore, it is also hard to track the detected human because of their dynamic and unpredictable behavior. The evaluation speed of method is also important as well as its accuracy. In this paper, we propose unified detection and tracking method for humans using Gaussian-PSO (Gaussian Particle Swarm Optimization) with the HOG (Histograms of Oriented Gradients) features to achieve a fast and accurate performance. Keeping the robustness of HOG features on human detection, we raise the process speed in detection and tracking so that it can be used for real-time applications. These advantages are given by a simple process which needs just one linear-SVM classifier with HOG features and Gaussian-PSO procedure for the both of detection and tracking.

  • This paper proposes a method of tracking an object for a person-following mobile robot by combining a monocular camera and a laser scanner, where each sensor can supplement the weaknesses of the other sensor. For human-robot interaction, a mobile robot needs to maintain a distance between a moving person and itself. Maintaining distance consists of two parts: object tracking and person-following. Object tracking consists of particle filtering and online learning using shape features which are extracted from an image. A monocular camera easily fails to track a person due to a narrow field-of-view and influence of illumination changes, and has therefore been used together with a laser scanner. After constructing the geometric relation between the differently oriented sensors, the proposed method demonstrates its robustness in tracking and following a person with a success rate of 94.7% in indoor environments with varying lighting conditions and even when a moving object is located between the robot and the person.
