The efficiency of photovoltaic generation systems depends on the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique. Among the various schemes presented in the literature, the incremental conductance (INC) method is one of the most frequently used due to its superb tracking ability under changes in insolation and temperature. Generally, conventional INC algorithms implement a simple duty-cycle updating rule that is mainly found on the polarity of the peak-power evaluation function. However, this fails to maximize the performance in both steady-state and transient conditions. In order to overcome this limitation, a novel regulated INC (r-INC) method is proposed in this paper. Like the compensators in automatic control systems, this method applies a digital compensator to evaluate the INC function and improve the capability of power tracking. Precise modeling of a new MPPT system is also presented in the optimized design process. A 120W boost peak power tracker is utilized to obtain comparative test results and to confirm the superiority of the proposed method over existing techniques.

This paper presents a dynamic workspace control method of underwater manipulator considering a floating ROV (Remotely Operated vehicle) motion caused by sea wave. This method is necessary for the underwater work required linear motion control of a manipulator's end-effector mounted on a floating ROV in undersea. In the proposed method, the motion of ROV is modeled as nonlinear first-order differential equation excluded dynamic elements. For online manipulator control achievement, we develop the position tracking method based on sensor data and EKF (Extended Kalman Filter) and the input velocity compensation method. The dynamic workspace control method is established by applying these methods to differential inverse kinematics solution. For verification of the proposed method, experimental data based test of ROV position tracking and simulation of the proposed control method are performed, which is based on the specification of the KORDI deep-sea ROV Hemire.

In this paper, a robust correlation-based video tracking is proposed to track a moving object in correlated image sequences. A correlation-based video tracking algorithm seeks to align the incoming target image with the reference target block image, but has critical problems, so called a false-peak problem and a drift phenomenon (correlator walk-off. The false-peak problem is generally caused by highly correlated background pixels with similar intensity of a moving target and the drift phenomenon occurs when tracking errors accumulate from frame to frame because of the nature of the correlation process. At first, the false-peaks problem for the ordinary correlation-based video tracking is investigated using a simple mathematical analysis. And, we will suggest a robust selective-attention correlation measure with a gradient preprocessor combined by a drift removal compensator to overcome the walk-off problem. The drift compensator adaptively controls the template block size according to the target size of interest. The robustness of the proposed method for practical application is demonstrated by simulating two real-image sequences.
In this paper, an improved method for tracking maneuvering target is proposed. The proposed tracking filter is constructed by combining the input estimation approach with the variable dimension filtering approach. In this approach, the filter also provides the estimated time instant at which target starts maneuver, when the target maneuver is detected. Using this estimated maneuvering time, the maneuver input is estimated and the tracking system changes to the maneuver model. Simulations are performed to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed tracking filter.
This paper deals with the path following problem of car-like intelligent mobile robot. A robust sliding mode control law based on time-varying state feedback is performed via Lyapunov method for path tracking of nonholonomic mobile robot with uncertainties. At first, A sliding control law is designed by combing the natural algebraic structure of the chained form system with ideas from sliding mode theory. Then, a robust control law is proposed to impose robustness against bounded uncertainties in path tracking. The problem of estimating the asymptotic stability region and the sliding domain of uncertain sliding mode system with bounded control input is also discussed. The proposed sliding mode control law can ensure the global reaching condition of the uncertain control system.

In this paper, a trajectory tracking problems using SMC(sliding mode control) is presented. In the conventional method. SMC has been applied to linear systems and the output matrix C has to satisfy a restrictive condition that CB is nonsingular. Under suitable assumptions, decoupling SMC can be adapted to remove the restriction mentioned above. The Proposed control strategy is applied to trajectory tracking control and simulations results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
This paper concerns an adaptive control scheme which is an extension of the simplified adaptive control. Originally, the SAC approach was developed based on the command generator tracker (CGT) theory for perfect model tracking. An attractive point of the SAC is that a control input can be synthesized without any prior knowledge about plant structure. However, a feedforward dynamic compensator of the CGT is removed from the basic structure of the SAC. This deletion of the compensator makes perfect model tracking difficult against even a step input. In this paper, an adaptive control system is redesigned to achieve perfect model tracking for as long as possible by reviving the dynamic compensator of the CGT. The proposed method is applied to slewing control of a flexible space structure and compared to the SAC responses.

In this paper, we propose a wavelet based fuzzy neural network (WFNN) based direct adaptive control scheme for the solution of the tracking problem of mobile robots. To design a controller, we present a WFNN structure that merges the advantages of the neural network, fuzzy model and wavelet transform. The basic idea of our WFNN structure is to realize the process of fuzzy reasoning of the wavelet fuzzy system by the structure of a neural network and to make the parameters of fuzzy reasoning be expressed by the connection weights of a neural network. In our control system, the control signals are directly obtained to minimize the difference between the reference track and the pose of a mobile robot via the gradient descent (GD) method. In addition, an approach that uses adaptive learning rates for training of the WFNN controller is driven via a Lyapunov stability analysis to guarantee fast convergence, that is, learning rates are adaptively determined to rapidly minimize the state errors of a mobile robot. Finally, to evaluate the performance of the proposed direct adaptive control system using the WFNN controller, we compare the control results of the WFNN controller with those of the FNN, the WNN and the WFM controllers.

In this paper, we propose a robust path tracking control method for autonomous underwater vehicle with variable speed. The proposed path tracking controller consists of a kinematic controller and a dynamic controller. First, the kinematic controller computes the surge speed and yaw rate to follow the reference path with variable speed. Then the dynamic controller controls the thrust force and yaw torque to move the AUV actually. In the dynamic control, we assume that the sway speed is a disturbance. In addition the dynamic controller is designed based on sliding mode conrol. We also demonstrate the stability of the proposed control method by Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, simulation results illustrate the performance of the proposed control method.

A satellite communication (Satcom) antenna mounted on a moving platform provides a controlled heading that enables a geosynchronous satellite to communicate with the ground. A monopulse tracking method is effective for antenna control on a vehicle when it vibrates severely. However, this method has unexpected obstacles and its control performance is insufficient. To improve its control performance, the control command and monopulse error, the signal delay, and the radome effect are evaluated through tests. The authors then propose a method to transform the antenna error from 3D coordinates to 2D antenna coordinates. As a result, the antenna control performance is improved. As indicated in this study, examining antenna systems using the monopulse method on moving platforms is possible by understanding the antenna test process.
