6kW 풍력발전기 타워-케이블계의 고유진동수 해석 (Natural Frequency Analysis of the Tower-Cable System of a 6kW Wind Turbine)

  • Vibration characteristics of a 6kW stand alone W/T(wind turbine) system are experimentally and theoretically investigated. Vibration resonance of the tower-cable system is monitored and the data are analysed and compared with the analytical results. To predict the resonance speed of the cable supported W/T, Rayleigh-Ritz method is applied to the tower-guy cable coupled system. Parametric study on the relation of the cable tension, cable elasticity and resonance frequency is carried out. Results of the study are utilized to design the stable structure of small size wind turbines which consist of a pivoted tower and guy cables.

Critical seismic incidence angle of transmission tower based on shaking table tests

  • Transmission tower-line systems have come to represent one of the most important infrastructures in today's society. Recent strong earthquakes revealed that transmission tower-line systems are vulnerable to earthquake excitations, and that ground motions may arrive at such structures from any direction during an earthquake event. Considering these premises, this paper presents experimental and numerical studies on the dynamic responses of a 1000 kV ultrahigh-voltage (UHV) transmission tower-line system under different seismic incidence angles. Specifically, a 1:25 reduced-scale experimental prototype model is designed and manufactured, and a series of shaking table tests are carried out. The influence of the seismic incidence angle on the dynamic structural response is discussed based on the experimental data. Additionally, the incidence angles corresponding to the maximum peak displacement of the top of the tower relative to the ground (referred to herein as the critical seismic incidence angles) are summarized. The experimental results demonstrate that seismic incidence angle has a significant influence on the dynamic responses of transmission tower-line systems. Subsequently, an approximation method is employed to orient the critical seismic incidence angle, and a corresponding finite element (FE) analysis is carried out. The angles obtained from the approximation method are compared with those acquired from the numerical simulation and shaking table tests, and good agreement is observed. The results demonstrate that the approximation method can properly predict the critical seismic incidence angles of transmission tower-line systems. This research enriches the available experimental data and provides a simple and convenient method to assess the seismic performance of UHV transmission systems.

TRACKING LIFT-PATHS OF A ROBOTIC TOWERCRANE WITH ENCODER SENSORS

  • This paper presents a robotic tower-crane system using encoder and gyroscope sensors as path tracking devices. Tower crane work is often associated with falling accidents and industrial disasters. Such problems often incur a loss of time and money for the contractor. For this reason, many studies have been done on an automatic tower crane. As a part of 5-year 23-million-dollar research project in Korea, we are developing a robotic tower crane which aims to improve the safety level and productivity. We selected a luffing tower crane, which is commonly used in urban construction projects today, as a platform for the robotic tower crane system. This system comprises two modules: the automated path planning module and the path tracking module. The automated path planning system uses the 3D Cartesian coordinates. When the robotic tower crane lifts construction material, the algorithm creates a line, which represents a lifting path, in virtual space. This algorithm seeks and generates the best route to lift construction material while avoiding known obstacles from real construction site. The path tracking system detects the location of a lifted material in terms of the 3D coordinate values using various types of sensors including adopts encoder and gyroscope sensors. We are testing various sensors as a candidate for the path tracking device. This specific study focuses on how to employ encoder and gyroscope sensors in the robotic crane These sensors measure a movement and rotary motion of the robotic tower crane. Finally, the movement of the robotic tower crane is displayed in a virtual space that synthesizes the data from two modules: the automatically planned path and the tracked paths. We are currently field-testing the feasibility of the proposed system using an actual tower crane. In the next step, the robotic tower crane will be applied to actual construction sites with a following analysis of the crane's productivity in order to ascertain its economic efficiency.

  • The tower cranes are widely used in very useful construction machine the sites of constructing high-structure and have a structural sensitiveness. Therefore, the accidents have often happened due to the deficiency of laborer's understanding md lack of safety of structure. Till now, as we have research and studied above, we can properly protect accidents by construction equipments particularly crane as well as most disasters which occur frequently in construction site. The goal of this study is the safety inspection model of the tower crane a construction site, which preventible the collapse accident of tower crane which is constructed by using the correcting frame. In order to accomplish the goal of this study, the field survey, the reference investigation and the structure analysis were performed for the collapse accident of tower nine using the correcting data. This study will be proposed a build-up solutions about operating and release of safety constructions and researched about software safety estimation. Also, preventing safety problems of Tower Crane Construction site as applying safety estimation program and laws and regulations. As a result, The real time control of tower crane inspection system is implemented by to illustrate the application of the adopted optimal design model.

  • A vibration monitoring system for a small size wind turbine (WIT) is established and operated. The monitoring system consists of monolithic integrated chip accelerometer for vibration monitoring, anemometers for wind data acquisition and auxiliary sensors for atmospheric data. Using the monitoring system, vibration response of a 6kW stand alone WIT generator is investigated. Acceleration data of the WIT tower under various operation condition is acquired in real time using LabVIEW and the data are remotely transferred from the test site to the laboratory in school by internet. Vibration response characteristics of the tower structure are diagnosed in the aspect of stability of W/T. Wind data and electrical power performance are also investigated with the stability problem.

  • SCC (Smart Cruise Control) and AEBS (Autonomous Emergency Braking System) are using various types of sensors data, so it is important to consider about sensor data reliability. In this paper, data from radar and vision sensor is fused by applying a Bayesian sensor fusion technique to improve the reliability of sensors data. Then, it presents a sensor fusion verification tool developed to monitor acquired sensors data and to verify sensor fusion results, efficiently. A parallel computing method was applied to reduce verification time and a series of simulation results of this method are discussed in detail.

  • This paper summarizes a study for the modal analysis and model updating conducted using the monitoring data obtained from the Canton Tower of 610 m tall, which was established as an international benchmark problem by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Modal properties of the tower were successfully identified using frequency domain decomposition and stochastic subspace identification methods. Finite element model updating using the measurement data was further performed to reduce the modal property differences between the measurements and those of the finite element model. Over-fitting during the model updating was avoided by using an optimization scheme with a regularization term.

  • A design procedure for cooling towers was set up using the Merkel theory In the past, the design data could be different depending on the characteristic curve that the engineer adopted. Therefore, consistent and reasonable criteria are required, which are based on the exact information of the cooling tower performance. In this study, analysis program for both the design and off-design for a counterflow-type cooling tower was developed and verified by comparing with experimental data. The off-design performance with various operating conditions was analyzed, as well.

타워크레인의 용접부 비파괴검사 데이터 기반 취약부위 분석 (Analysis of Vulnerable Parts based on Non-destructive Testing Data of Tower Crane Welding Parts)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate vulnerable parts of tower crane structures by analyzing extensive non-destructive test data. Approximately ten percent of domestically registered tower cranes were inspected by using magnetic particle inspection. The testing was carried out as advised in KS B 0213. The non-destructive results was analyzed with respect to jib types, age and crane size. As a result, the number of crack occurrences were the largest in mast parts, followed by main jib part. Moreover, it was found that turntables were important parts deserved to be noticed at the perspective of safe maintenance.
