Microstructure, magnetic and transport properties of as-deposited electron-doped $La_{1-x}Ce_xMnO_3$ and hole-doped $La_{1-x}Ce_xMnO_3$ films prepared by pulse laser deposition, with x = 0.1 and 0.3, have been investigated. The microstructural analysis reveals that the $La_{1-x}Ce_xMnO_3$ films have a column-like microstructure and a strip-domain phase with a periodic spacing of about 3c, which were not found for the $La_{1-x}Ce_xMnO_3$ ones. At the same time, the experimental results manifest that there is no fundamental difference in the magnetic and the transport properties between electron- and hole-doped manganite films, except the appearance of ferromagnetic response in the low-doped $La_{0.9}Ce_{0.1}MnO_3$ film at temperatures above the Curie point. The observed magnetic behavior, typical for the Griffiths-like phase, for this film is explained by the percolation mechanism of the ferromagnetic transition and by the presence of strip-domain phase which stimulates the magnetic phase separation.
The silica-pillared H-kenyaites were prepared by interlarmellar base-catalyzed reaction of tetraethylorthosilicate [TEOS, Si(OC2H5)4] intercalated into the interlayer of H-kenyaite. The intercalation of TEOS was conducted by the octylamine preswelling process, resulting in a dramatic increase in gallery height to 24.7 Å. The interlamellar hydrolysis of octylamine-TEOS/H-kenyaite paste were conducted between 10 min and 40 min in 0.00%, 0.05% and 0.10% NH3-water solution respectively, and resulting in siloxane-pillared H-kenyajte with gallery height of 28.2-31.8 Å. The calcination of samples at 538 ℃ resulted in silica-pillared H-kenyaites with a large surface areas between 411 m2/g and 885 m2/g, depending on the aging time and NH3 concentration. Samples with optimum specific surface areas and well ordered-basal spacing were obtained by reaction between 10 min and 40 min in pure water and 0.05% NH3-water solution. Mesoporous samples with narrow pore size distribution were also prepared by reaction for 10-40 min in 0.05% NH3 solution. Rapid interlamellar reaction of TEOS in pure water showed that intercalated octylamine itself could act as a base catalyst during interlamellar polycondensation of TEOS.

Grillages are abundant in ship structures and in many other types of structures such as bridges and building floors. Clarkson has shown that plated grillages can be satisfactorily analyzed as gridworks if an appropriate effective breadth is taken into account. Also, it has previously been pointed out, by Nielsen, that grillage calculations could be simplified by use of the Laplace transformation. In this paper, it is assumed that the torsional rigidity of the members and axial load are negligible, also that girders have the same scantling and spacing each other and so stiffeners do. Then the grillages composed of both-end-fixed girders and both-end-hinged stiffeners, which are subjected only to uniform normal loads are investigated. The calculus of variation is used to set up the differential equations and the Laplace transformation is applied to solve the differential equations. The program has been tested by FACOM 28 and the results show good agreements with those by the STRESS, which was developed in M.I.T.. The amount of the data input and computing time are much less than those of the STRESS. But this program has so much restrictions that it is urgent to extend the program to the grillage problems of arbitrary loading and boundary conditions.

Congestion may take place in the ATM network because of high-speed cell transmission features, and cell delay and loss also can be caused by unexpected traffic variation. Thus, traffic control mechanisms are needed. One of them to decrease congestion is the Cell shaping. This paper proposes a hybrid type cell shaper composed of a Leaky Bucket with token pool, Tn with time window, and a spacing control buffer. The simulator BONeS with the ON/OFF traffic source model evaluates the performance of the proposed cell shaping method. Simulation results show that the cell shaping concerning the respective source traffics is adapted to and then controlled on the mean bit rate.

Borescopes facilitate the inspection of areas inside machines and systems that are not directly accessible for visual inspection. They offer real-time, up-close access to confined and hard-to-access spaces without having to dismantle or destructure the object under inspection. Borescopes are ideal instruments for routine maintenance, quality inspection and monitoring of systems and structures. The main application being fault or defect detection, it is useful to have measuring capability to quantify object dimensions in a target area. High-end borescopes use multi-optic solutions to provide measurement information of viewed objects. Multi-optic solutions can provide accurate measurements at the expense of structural complexity and cost increase. Measuring functionality is often unavailable in low-end, single camera borescopes. In this paper, a single camera measurement solution that enables the size estimation of viewed objects is proposed. The proposed solution computes and overlays a scaled grid of known spacing value over the screen view, enabling the human inspector to estimate the size of the objects in view. The proposed method provides a simple means of measurement that is applicable to low-end borescopes with no built-in measurement capability.

Recently, an unprecedented emerging infectious disease has rapidly spread, causing a global shortage of wards. Although various temporary beds have appeared, the supply of wards specializing in infectious diseases is required. Negative pressure isolation wards should maintain their function even after an earthquake. However, the current seismic design standards do not guarantee the negative pressure isolation wards' operational (OP) performance level. For this reason, some are not included in the design target even though they are non-structural elements that require seismic design. Also, the details of non-structural elements are usually determined during the construction phase. It is often necessary to complete the stability review and reinforcement design for non-structural elements within a short period. Against this background, enhanced performance objectives were set to guarantee the OP non-structural performance level, and a computerized tool was developed to quickly perform the seismic design of non-structural elements in the negative pressure isolation wards. This study created a spreadsheet-based computer tool that reflects the components, installation spacing, and design procedures of non-structural elements. Seismic performance review and design of the example non-structural elements were conducted using the computerized tool. The strength of some components was not sufficient, and it was reinforced. As a result, the time and effort required for strength evaluation, displacement evaluation, and reinforcement design were reduced through computerized tools.

In this paper, a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) access deployment algorithm is proposed, which is based on an improved virtual force model to solve the poor coverage quality of UAVs caused by limited number of UAVs and random mobility of users in the deployment process of UAV base station. First, the UAV-adapted Harris Hawks optimization (U-AHHO) algorithm is proposed to maximize the coverage of users in a given hotspot. Then, a virtual force improvement model based on user perception (UP-VFIM) is constructed to sense the mobile trend of mobile users. Finally, a UAV motion algorithm based on multi-virtual force sharing (U-MVFS) is proposed to improve the ability of UAVs to perceive the moving trend of user equipments (UEs). The UAV independently controls its movement and provides follow-up services for mobile UEs in the hotspot by computing the virtual force it receives over a specific period. Simulation results show that compared with the greedy-grid algorithm with different spacing, the average service rate of UEs of the U-AHHO algorithm is increased by 2.6% to 35.3% on average. Compared with the baseline scheme, using UP-VFIM and U-MVFS algorithms at the same time increases the average of 34.5% to 67.9% and 9.82% to 43.62% under different UE numbers and moving speeds, respectively.

In this paper we present a light weighted robust Korean morphological analyzer for mobile devices such as mobile phones, smart phones, and PDA phones. Such mobile devices are not suitable for natural language interfaces for their low CPU performance and memory restriction. In order to overcome the difficulties we propose 1) an online analysis by using Key Event Handler mechanism, 2) and a robust analysis of the Korean sentences with spacing errors without its correction pre-processing. We adapt the proposed Korean analyzer to a Korean-English mobile translator, which shows 5.8% memory usage reduction and 19.0% enhancement of average response time.
Ground subsidence, which is a current concern that affects piled raft foundations, has occurred at a high rate in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, due primarily to groundwater pumping for water supply. In this study, the groundwater level (GWL) change affect on a piled raft foundation was investigated based on the three-dimensional finite element method (3D-FEM) using the PLAXIS 3D software. The GWL change due to global groundwater pumping and dewatering were simulated in PLAXIS 3D based on the GWL reduction and consolidation. Settlement and the pile axial force of the piled raft foundation in Ho Chi Minh subsoil were investigated based on the actual design and the proposed optimal case. The actual design used the piled foundation concept, while the optimal case applied a pile spacing of 6D using a piled raft concept to reduce the number of piles, with little increased settlement. The results indicated that the settlement increased with the GWL reduction, caused by groundwater pumping and dewatering. The subsidence started to affect the piled raft foundation 2.5 years after construction for the actual design and after 3.4 years for the optimal case due to global groundwater pumping. The pile's axial force, which was affected by negative skin friction, increased during that time.
This paper presents an optimization of the reinforced concrete ribbed slab in terms of minimum CO2 emissions and an economic justification of the final optimal design. The design variables are six geometry variables including the slab thickness, the ribs spacing, the rib width at the lower and toper end, the depth of the rib and the bar diameter of the reinforcement, and the seventh variable defines the concrete strength. The objective function is considered to be the minimum amount of carbon dioxide gas (CO2) emission and at the same time, the optimal design is economical. Seven significant design constraints of American Concrete Institute's Standard were considered. A robust metaheuristic optimization method called improved dolphin echolocation and ant colony optimization (IDEACO) has been used to obtain the best possible answer. At optimal design, the three most important sources of CO2 emissions include concrete, steel reinforcement, and formwork that the contribution of them are 63.72, 32.17, and 4.11 percent respectively. Formwork, concrete, steel reinforcement, and CO2 are the four most important sources of cost with contributions of 67.56, 19.49, 12.44, and 0.51 percent respectively. Results obtained by IDEACO show that cost and CO2 emissions are closely related, so the presented method is a practical solution that was able to reduce the cost and CO2 emissions simultaneously.
