  • Dynamic simulation program for a smart UAV turbojet engine was developed. The transient simulation program utilized the CMP(Constant Mass flow) method and Euler integration method for integration of excess torque. The transient performance analysis was carried out by increasing from the idle to the maximum rotational speed of the gas generator. To observe engine dynamic behavior, fuel flow was monitored through a step and a ramp increase. When the fuel was increased as a step function the overshoot of the turbine inlet temperature exceeded the limit temperature.

  • In this paper, a method for recognizing 3-D objects using the 3-D Hough transform and the robust stereo vision is studied. A 3-D object is recognized through two steps; modeling step and matching step. In modeling step, features of the object are extracted by analyzing the IGES file. In matching step, the values of the sensed image are compared with those of the IGES file which is assumed to location and orientation in the 3-D Hough transform domain. Since we use the 3-D Hough transform domain of the input image directly, the sensitivity to the noise and the high computational complexity could be significantly allcv~ated. Also, the cost efficiency is improved using the robust stereo vision for obtaining depth map image which is needed for 3-D Hough transform. In order lo verify the proposed method, real telephone model is recognized. Thc results of the location and orientation of the model are presented.

  • This paper describes computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) systems as strategic information systems for business which play an important role in accelerating the speed of business, and develops a measure showing a degree of business tendency to be CIM which enables the business to check on its present status as far as CIM is concerned. It is well known that the productivity of knowledge workers is lower than that of other workers. Nowadays, a great deal of effort goes into the productivity improvement of knowledge workers. In this respect, this paper also develops a quantitative model for the productivity of knowledge workers. Finally, this paper deals with following four steps which our small business should follow through its process of CIM: [Step 1] Using expert knowledge; [Step 2] Invention of technological information; [Step 3] Feedback of factory information to the management; and, [Step 4] Accelerating the speed of business.

  • When assessing goodness-of-fit of a model, a small subset of deviating observations can give rise to a significant lack of fit. It is therefore important to identify such observations and to assess their effects on various aspects of analysis. A Cook's distance measure is usually used to detect influential observation. But it sometimes is not fully effective in identifying truly influential set of observations because there may exist masking or swamping effects. In this paper we confine our attention to influential subset In GLMs such as logistic regression models and loglinear models. We modify a backwards stepping algorithm, which was originally suggested for detecting outlying cells in contingency tables, to detect influential observations in GLMs. The algorithm consists of two steps, the identification step and the testing step. In identification step we Identify influential observations based on influencial measures such as Cook's distances. On the other hand in testing step we test the subset of identified observations to be significant or not Finally we explain the proposed method through two types of dataset related to logistic regression model and loglinear model, respectively.

  • The effect of variation of pack activators, compositions, temperature and time on the thickness and structure of aluminide coatings formed on the TiAl alloy was studied in one-step packs and two-step packs containing aluminum for the purpose of improvement of oxidation resistance. The thickness of coating layer was increased with increasing $NH_4Cl$ content up to 3wt% and then it was saturated. Oxidation resistance of coating layers carried out at one step pack was superior to that of ones through of two step pack. The improvement of high temperature oxidation resistance was due to the formation of a protective $Al_2O_3$ surface layers and coating the alloys with $TiAl_3$ phase.

  • Exchange of product model data becomes a key issue in the globalized enterprise environment. Sharing heterogeneous information resides in diverse information resources is not easy. To share automotive product information among different organizations, a reliable neutral information standard and communication methods are needed. World wide sharing of automotive product information can be implemented based on the STEP AP214, the standard for exchange of automotive product model through its whole life cycle. This paper suggests an automotive PDM implemented on the internet and based on the STEP AP214. Physical files containing design data can be shared on the internet using JAVA applets and VRML.

  • Interlocking software used in the electronic interlocking has been implemented through the structured approach until now. But there was the demerit that interlocking software has some problem in the standardization and the maintenance because of the limit in structured approach. Object-Oriented method overcoming this demerit was specified in the design step and the analysis step. There were object model, dynamic model and functional model in the analysis step and there were also two steps which were system design and object design in the design step. In this paper, Interlocking software was designed using Object-Oriented method to improve the standardization and the maintenance of the electronic interlocking. The electronic interlocking was analyzed with object modeling, dynamic modeling and functional modeling.

  • Unmanned ground vehicles have important military, reconnaissance, and materials handling application. Many of these applications require the UGVs to move at high speeds through uneven, natural terrain with various compositions and physical parameters. This paper presents a framework for high speed autonomous navigation based on the integrated real time traversability. Specifically, the proposed system performs real-time dynamic simulation and calculate maximum traversing velocity guaranteeing safe motion over rough terrain. The architecture of autonomous navigation is firstly presented for high-speed autonomous navigation. Then, the integrated real time traversability, which is composed of initial velocity profiling step, dynamic analysis step, road classification step and stable velocity profiling step, is introduced. Experimental results are presented that demonstrate the method for a $6{\times}6$ autonomous vehicle moving on flat terrain with bump.

  • Four coordinated rhodium(Ⅰ) complexes, Rh($ClO_4$)(CO)$(PPh_3)_2$ and [$Rh(CO)(PPh_3)_3$]$ClO_4$(2) catalyze the iosmerization of allylic alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds at room temperature under nitrogen. The isomerization is faster with 2 than with 1, which is understood in terms of relative ease of the last step of the catalytic cycle, the reductive elimination of enol. Relative rates of the isomerization with 1 and 2 for different allylic alcohols are also explained by the relative ease of the enol elimination step in part. The first step of the catalytic cycle, the complex formation of the allylic alcohol through the ${\pi}-system$ of the olefinic group of the allylic alcohol and the following step, formation of hydridoallyl complex also seem to affect the overall rate of the isomerization.
