Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose a new therapy algorithm that combines motor imagery and physiotherapy as a physiotherapeutic clinical intervention technique that can stimulate the recovery of damaged physical function for patients with stroke. Methods: A variety of scientific research results related to motor imagery were reviewed and analyzed to investigate their applicability to physiotherapy in clinics. Results: As a new therapy algorithm for the therapeutic approach of motor imagery in stroke rehabilitation, a therapy algorithm that combines motor imagery with physiotherapy is proposed, which consists of three stages or steps: STEP 1 motor imagery familiarization, STEP 2 explicit learning stage, and STEP 3 implicit learning. Conclusion: The new therapy algorithm proposed in this study is expected to be a very useful clinical therapeutic approach for stimulating the recovery of damaged physical function in patients with stroke. It is believed that it will be necessary to confirm and standardize the effects of the therapeutic algorithm proposed in this study in the future by conducting diverse clinical studies.
The color of traffic light is sensitive to various illumination conditions. Especially it loses the hue information when oversaturation happens on the lighting area. This paper proposes a traffic light recognition method robust to these illumination variations. The method consists of two steps of traffic light detection and recognition. It just uses the intensity and saturation in the first step of traffic light detection. It delays the use of hue information until it reaches to the second step of recognizing the signal of traffic light. We utilized a deep learning technique in the second step. We designed a deep convolutional neural network(DCNN) which is composed of three convolutional networks and two fully connected networks. 12 video clips were used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. Experimental results show the performance of traffic light detection reporting the precision of 93.9%, the recall of 91.6%, and the recognition accuracy of 89.4%. Considering that the maximum distance between the camera and traffic lights is 70m, the results shows that the proposed method is effective.

Planarization technique is rapidly recognized as a critical step in chip fabrication due to the increase in wiring density and the trend towards a three dimensional structure. Global planarity requires the preferential removal of the projecting features. Also, the several materials i.e. Si semiconductor, oxide dielectric and sluminum interconnect on the chip, should be removed simultaneously in order to produce a planar surface. This research has investihgated the development of the chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) machine with uniform pressure and velocity mechanism, and the pad insensitive to pattern topography named hard grooved(HG) pad for global planarization. Finally, a successful result of uniformity less than 5% standard deviation in residual oxide film and planarity less than 15nm in residual step height of 4 inch device wafer, is achieved.

In this paper, an algorithm for approximating zeros of sum of three monotone operators is introduced and its convergence properties are studied in the setting of 2-uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Unlike the existing algorithms whose step-sizes usually depend on the knowledge of the operator norm or Lipschitz constant, a nice feature of the proposed algorithm is the fact that it requires only a diminishing and non-summable step-size to obtain strong convergence of the iterates to a solution of the problem. Finally, the proposed algorithm is implemented in the setting of a classical Banach space to support the theory established.

In this paper, we investigate the defect detection by making use of pre-made reference image data and classify the defects by using the artificial neural network. The approach is composed of three main parts. The first step consists of a proper generation of two reference image data by using a low level morphological technique. The second step proceeds by performing three times logical bit operations between two ready-made reference images and just captured image to be tested. This results in defects image only. In the third step, by extracting four features from each detected defect, followed by assigning them into the input nodes of an already trained artificial neural network we can obtain a defect class corresponding to the features. All of the image data are formed in a bit level for the reduction of data size as well as time saving. Experimental results show that proposed algorithms are found to be effective for flexible defect detection, robust classification, and high speed process by adopting a simple logic operation.
In this paper, an automated segmentation algorithm is proposed for MR brain images using T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and PD images complementarily. The proposed segmentation algorithm is composed of 3 steps. In the first step, cerebrum images are extracted by putting a cerebrum mask upon the three input images. In the second step, outstanding clusters that represent inner tissues of the cerebrum are chosen among 3-dimensional (3D) clusters. 3D clusters are determined by intersecting densely distributed parts of 2D histogram in the 3D space formed with three optimal scale images. Optimal scale image best describes the shape of densely distributed parts of pixels in 2D histogram. In the final step, cerebrum images are segmented using FCM algorithm with it’s initial centroid value as the outstanding cluster’s centroid value. The proposed segmentation algorithm complements the defect of FCM algorithm, being influenced upon initial centroid, by calculating cluster’s centroid accurately And also can get better segmentation results from the proposed segmentation algorithm with multi spectral analysis than the results of single spectral analysis.

An experimental study was made of a large-scale vortical structure over a backward-facing step. The Reynolds number based on the step height was R $e_{H}$ =33,000. To recognize the large-scale vortex, three components of velocity were measured. The measurements were performed in the recirculation zone (x/H=4.0) and the reattachment zone(x/H=7.5). To measure the wall pressure fluctuations in a turbulent flow over a backward-facing step, a 32-channel microphone array was installed beneath the wall in the streamwise and spanwise directions. From the measured pressure field, the size of large-scale vortex was obtained. As a detailed study, a conditionally-averaging technique was employed to characterize the coherent structure of the large-scale vortex. To see the relationship between the flow field and the relevant spatial mode of the pressure field, the spatial box filtering (SBF) was examined. A cross-correlation between velocity and pressure fluctuations was performed to identify the structure and the length scale of the large-scale vortex.x.

Women attach great importance to the presence of a three-dimensional nipple upon completion of the breast reconstruction process. To meet patients' expectations, nipple-areolar complex reconstruction should achieve symmetry in position, size, shape, texture, and color, as well as minimizing donor-site morbidity. However, it is well known that regardless of the reconstructive technique, loss of nipple projection can be reasonably expected. We developed and evaluated a quick, simple, and innovative technique using injectable Integra Flowable Wound Matrix to increase nipple projection after reconstruction. Twenty breast cancer patients who underwent nipple reconstruction resulting in unsatisfactory projection were enrolled in our retrospective study. Nipple projection was measured at the time of surgery and after 6 and 12 months. A visual analogue scale was used to assess patients' satisfaction. Our technique yielded reliable results in terms of the long-lasting maintenance of nipple projection. This method is high-priced, but cost-effective, since one kit may suffice for three patients. Furthermore, our patients were very appreciative of this technique as a single-step, minimally invasive, painless procedure with no reported necessity of re-intervention.
PURPOSE. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the accuracy of three techniques for correction of cast implant bars. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Thirty cast implant bars were fabricated on a metal master model. All cast implant bars were sectioned at 5 mm from the left gold cylinder using a disk of 0.3 mm thickness, and then each group of ten specimens was corrected by gas-air torch soldering, laser welding, and additional casting technique. Three dimensional evaluation including horizontal, vertical, and twisting measurements was based on measurement and comparison of (1) gap distances of the right abutment replica-gold cylinder interface at buccal, distal, lingual side, (2) changes of bar length, and (3) axis angle changes of the right gold cylinders at the step of the post-correction measurements on the three groups with a contact and non-contact coordinate measuring machine. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and paired t-test were performed at the significance level of 5%. RESULTS. Gap distances of the cast implant bars after correction procedure showed no statistically significant difference among groups. Changes in bar length between pre-casting and post-correction measurement were statistically significance among groups. Axis angle changes of the right gold cylinders were not statistically significance among groups. CONCLUSION. There was no statistical significance among three techniques in horizontal, vertical and axial errors. But, gas-air torch soldering technique showed the most consistent and accurate trend in the correction of implant bar error. However, Laser welding technique, showed a large mean and standard deviation in vertical and twisting measurement and might be technique-sensitive method.

X-ray images are wildly used in medical applications, and these can be more efficiently find scoliosis which is appearing during the growth of human skeleton than others. This research is focused on the calibration of X-ray image and three-dimensional coordinate determination of objects. Three-dimensional coordinate of objects taken by X-ray are determined by two step procedure. Firstly, interior and exterior orientation parameters are determined by camera calibration using Primary Calibration Object (PCO) which has two sides with embedded radiopaque steel ball. Secondly, calibration cage coordinates which is composed of two acrylic sheets that are perpendicular to X-ray source are determined by the parameters. Three-dimensional coordinates of calibration cage determined by photogrammetric technique are compared with that of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Though the accuracy analysis, X direction which is parallel to X-ray source error values are relatively higher than those of Y and Z directions. But, the accuracies of Y and Z axis are approximately -3 mm to 3 mm. From the research results, it is considered that photogrammetric technique is applied to determine three-dimensional coordinates of patients or assist to make medical devices.
