  • The shape of cold strip for the stainless process has been become issue in quality recently, and hence POSCO (Pohang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd) developed an automatic control system for strip shape in the sendzimir mill. The strip shape is measured by an outward measuring roll and is controlled by As_U roll and first intermediate roll. As_U roll consists of 8 saddles, which are controlled vertically. The fist intermediate rolls, which are controlled horizontally, consist of two pairs of rolls up and down. A developed shape control system is applied to real plant by using fuzzy logic and neural network method to control actuators; As_U roll and first intermediate roll. This system composes mainly of three parts as a real-time system, input to output conditioner board, and man-machine interface. The actual shape is recognized by neural network and converted into symmetric shape. The fuzzy controller, based on the shape from neural network and sensor, controls positions of the As_U roll and first intermediate roll. This paper verifies the shape controller performance. The experiments are made on line for the sendzimir mill. The shape control performance shows very efficient for the target tracking, shape symmetry, and fluctuation of shape.

치석 진단용 소형 프로브 기반 광간섭단층촬영 시스템 (A Handheld Probe Based Optical Coherence Tomography System for Diagnosis of Dental Calculus)

  • Optical coherence tomography(OCT) is a noninvasive optical imaging tool for biomedical applications. OCT can provide depth resolved two/three dimensional morphological images on biological samples. In this paper, we integrated an OCT system that was composed of an SLED(Superluminescent Light Emitting Diode, ${\lambda}_0$=1305 nm bandwith= 141 nm), a reference arm adopting a rapid scanning optical delay line(RSOD) to get high speed imaging, and a sample arm that used a micro electro mechanical systems(MEMS) scanning mirror. The sample arm contained a compact probe for imaging dental structures. The performance of the system was evaluated by imaging in-vivo human teeth with dental calculus, and the results indicated distinct appearance of dental calculus from enamel, gum or decayed teeth. The developed probe and system could successfully confirm the presence of dental calculus with a very high spatial resolution($6{\mu}m$).

  • The robot systems are widely used in the many industrial field as well as welding manufacturing. The essential tasks to operate the welding robot are the acquisition of the position and/or shape of the parent metal. For the seam tracking or the robot tracking, many kinds of contact and non-contact sensors are used. Recently, the vision is most popular. In this paper, the development of the system which measures the shape of the welding part is described. This system uses the line-type structured laser diode and the vision sensor. It includes the correction of radial distortion which is often found in the image taken by the camera with short focal length. The Direct Linear Transformation (DLT) method is used for the camera calibration. The three dimensional shape of the parent metal is obtained after simple linear transformation. Some demos are shown to describe the performance of the developed system.

소방펌프의 안정적 운영을 위한 하드웨어 및 모니터링 소프트웨어 개발 (Development of Hardware and Monitoring Software for Stable Operation of Fire Pumps)

  • This study is aimed to develop a safety diagnosis system for fire pumps that detects normal and abnormal signals for the stable operation of the system. Hence, the following activities were carried out: first, a threshold value was identified for the normal operation and six abnormal operations (adherence of impeller, absence of water source, separation of pump and motor, run-stop operation, air inflow into the casing, and reverse-phase loss of the power line) reflecting changes in the current, flow and pressure of fire pumps; secondly, based on the identified signals, an algorithm capable of detecting three abnormal signals was developed and in terms of hardware, a current, pressure and flow sensor suitable for the analogue input values of NI-6009 was designed and installed. This combination of the hardware and software is applicable as a diagnosis system to ensure the stable operation of fire pumps.

전류센서리스 단위역률 3상 PWM AC/DC Boost 컨버터 (Current Sensorless Three Phase PWM AC/DC Boost Converter with Unity Power Factor)

  • AC/DC 전력변환장치로서 위상제어 컨버터나 출력전압을 제어할 수 없는 다이오드 정류기는 역률저하 및 저차고조파 발생의 문제점을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 역률개선 및 고조파 감소의 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 3상 PWM AC/DC Boost 컨버터에 대해 연구하였다. 제안한 컨버터의 특성은 입력 단에 전류 센서 없이 전압 센서만을 사용하여 입력전류의 위상을 조정하는 비교적 간단한 알고리즘으로 단위역률을 구현하였으며, 일정 주파수로 스위칭 소자를 구동시키는 정현 PWM 방식을 채용하여 불규칙한 스위칭 주파수 방식에서 나타나는 입력필터의 설계 및 스위칭 소자 선정에 대한 어려움을 극복하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 제어알고리즘을 시뮬레이션 한 결과 부하영역 및 발전영역에서도 단위역률이 잘 이루어졌으며 DC link 단의 출력전압이 거의 리플 없이 다이나믹한 응답특성을 보였다. 또 시뮬레이션으로 얻어진 회로정수를 바탕으로 인덕터 및 커패시터의 용량을 적절한 크기로 산정하여 실험 에 적용한 결과 같은 부하조건에서 다이오드 정류기와 비교하여 역률 및 저차 고조파가 현저하게 개선되었음을 알 수 있었다.

Imaging Performance Analysis of an EO/IR Dual Band Airborne Camera

  • An airborne sensor is developed for remote sensing on an aerial vehicle (UV). The sensor is an optical payload for an eletro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) dual band camera that combines visible and IR imaging capabilities in a compact and lightweight package. It adopts a Ritchey-Chr$\'{e}$tien telescope for the common front end optics with several relay optics that divide and deliver EO and IR bands to a charge-coupled-device (CCD) and an IR detector, respectively. The EO/IR camera for dual bands is mounted on a two-axis gimbal that provides stabilized imaging and precision pointing in both the along and cross-track directions. We first investigate the mechanical deformations, displacements and stress of the EO/IR camera through finite element analysis (FEA) for five cases: three gravitational effects and two thermal conditions. For investigating gravitational effects, one gravitational acceleration (1 g) is given along each of the +x, +y and +z directions. The two thermal conditions are the overall temperature change to $30^{\circ}C$ from $20^{\circ}C$ and the temperature gradient across the primary mirror pupil from $-5^{\circ}C$ to $+5^{\circ}C$. Optical performance, represented by the modulation transfer function (MTF), is then predicted by integrating the FEA results into optics design/analysis software. This analysis shows the IR channel can sustain imaging performance as good as designed, i.e., MTF 38% at 13 line-pairs-per-mm (lpm), with refocus capability. Similarly, the EO channel can keep the designed performance (MTF 73% at 27.3 lpm) except in the case of the overall temperature change, in which the EO channel experiences slight performance degradation (MTF 16% drop) for $20^{\circ}C$ overall temperate change.

유전체 다중층을 이용한 국소 표면 플라즈몬 공명 센서의 감도 향상에 관한 연구 (Estimation of Sensitivity Enhancements on Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor Using Dielectric Multilayer)

  • 본 논문에서는 LSPR 센서에 적용하기 위한 제한된 높이 100 nm에서 $TiO_2$, $SiO_2$의 다중층을 이용한 LSPR 센서를 디자인을 제안했다. LSPR 센서의 구조는 유전체 층과 나노 구조가 있는 금속층으로 디자인 하였다. 금속층은 금 박막 40 nm와 높이 40 nm, 주기 600 nm, 선폭 300 nm인 나노와이어 구조체를 올려놓은 구조로 디자인하였다. 유전체 층의 높이를 100nm로 제한하고, $TiO_2$, $SiO_2$가 반복되는 구조로 하여 반복층의 개수를 1~4개로 변경하면서 비교 분석하였다. 파장 가변형 SPR을 디자인하기 위해 각도를 75도로 고정하고 파장을 변화시켜 FEM방식으로 계산하였다. 결과로 굴절율이 고정되어 있을 때 다중층의 개수가 증가할수록 공명 파장이 짧아지는 현상을 확인 하였고, 파장의 변화에 더 민감하게 변화하는 것을 측정하였다. 다만, 다중층의 개수가 3개층 이상이 되면 변화하지 않는 것을 확인하였다.

시설오이 지중관비시 자동관수센서의 적정 매설깊이 (Estimation of the Optimum Installation Depth of Soil Moisture Sensor in an Automatic Subsurface Drip Irrigation System for Greenhouse Cucumber)

  • 시설오이 지중관비에서 지중 점적호스를 30 cm에 매설 시에 텐시오미터를 이용한 자동관수센서의 적정 깊이를 제시하고자 2010-2011년까지 2년간에 걸쳐서 조사하였다. 오이의 생육은 텐시오미터 30 cm 깊이에서 낮았으나 텐시오미터 10 및 20 cm에서는 유의성 있는 차이는 없었다. 1년 및 2년차 수량에서도 텐시오미터 30 cm에서 각각 40.9 및 41.2 $Mg\;ha^{-1}$로 가장 적은 생산량을 나타내었나, 텐시오미터 10 cm에서는 57.0 및 56.9 $Mg\;ha^{-1}$, 텐시오미터 20 cm에서는 56.0 및 60.5 $Mg\;ha^{-1}$로 처리간의 차이가 없이 동일한 수량을 나타내었다. 오이재배에서 한 작기 당 질소 및 일일 물 공급량은 63 $kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$의 질소와 1.3 $mm\;day^{-1}$로 물이 공급된 텐시오미터 20 cm 처리에서 질소 및 수분 이용효율이 높았다. 또한 토양깊이 0-30 cm에 대한 뿌리길이에서도 텐시오미터 20 cm에서 0.87 $cm\;cm^{-3}$으로 유의성은 없었지만 가장 높은 값을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과로부터 시설오이에서 지중 점적호스를 30 cm 깊이에 매설 시에 텐시오미터를 활용한 자동관수센서의 적정 깊이는 20 cm인 것으로 판단되었다.

인지부하의 정도에 따른 뇌신경생리학적 변화 (Changes in Electrophysiological Activation Due to Different Levels of Cognitive Load)

  • Purpose: For now, cognitive load is assessed based on survey-based methods, which can be difficult to track the amount of cognitive load in real-time. In this study, we investigated the difference in electrophysiological activation due to different levels of cognitive load not only at sensor-level but also at source-level using electroencephalogram that might be potentially used for quantitative cognitive load evaluation. Materials and Methods: In this study, ten healthy subjects (mean age 24.3 ± 2.1, three female) participated the experiment. All participants performed 4 sessions of n-back task in different difficulties: 0-, 1-, 2-, and 3-back during electroencephalogram recording. For sensor-level analysis, we calculated the event-related potential and event-related spectral perturbation while low resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (LORETA) to estimate the source activation. Each result was compared between different workload conditions using statistical analysis. Results: Statistical results revealed that the accuracy of the task performance was significantly different between different cognitive loads (p = 0.018). The post-hoc analysis confirmed that the accuracy of the 3-back task was significantly decreased compared to 1-back condition (p = 0.018), but not with 2-back condition (p = 0.180). ERP results showed that P300 target amplitude between 1-back and 3-back had a marginal difference in Cz (p = 0.059) and Pz(p = 0.093). A significant inhibition in Cz high-beta activation (p = 0.017) and decrease in source activation of right parahippocampal gyrus was found in 3-back condition compared to 1-back condition (p < 0.05). Conclusion: In this study, we compared the sensor- and source-level differences in electroencephalogram between different levels of cognitive load, that were found to be in line with the previous reports related to cognitive load evaluation. We expect that the outcome of the current study can be used as a feature to establish a quantitative cognitive load assessment system.

조화가진된 밀폐계 음장에서의 능동소음제어 (I) 컴퓨터 시물레이션 (The Active Noise Control in Harmonic Enclosed Sound Fields (I) Computer Simulation)

  • 본 연구에서는 정상상태의 단일 주파수에서의 임의의 음압분포로 조화가진되 는 3차원 정방형 밀폐계 음장의 경우에 대한 능동제어를 시도함으로써 사무실과 같은 실내 공간에 대한 능동적 소음저감의 응용 가능성을 검토하고자 하였다. 또한 변환기 의 위치선정을 위하여 상태공간 모드 모델의 모드 근사화에 따른 계수행렬의 요소를 평가함으로써 가제어성과 가광측성을 만족하는 최적한 변환기 (부가음원, 마이크로폰) 의 위치를 선정하였다. 밀폐계 내부의 음압을 저감시키는 목적함수로는 전체 시간평 균 음향 포텐셜에너지를 사용하였으며 폐공간의 음압변동을 이론적으로 규명함으로써 부가적인 음원의 복소세기를 적절히 선정하여 이 음향 포텐셜 에너지의 양을 최소화 시킬 수 있음을 보였다.
