  • Negative staining has been traditionally used for exosome imaging; however, the technique is limited to surface topology only and can cause staining artifacts. Therefore, to analyze the internal structure of exosomes, we employed a method of block preparation, thin sectioning, and electron tomography. In addition, an automatic serial sectioning technique with 15-nm thickness through focused ion beam was employed to observe the three-dimensional structure of exosomes of various sizes. Cryo-transmission electron microscopy revealed the near-to-native structure of exosomes.

  • In the continuing quest for increased turbomachinery efficiency, the part played by blade profile shape remains crucial. The application of a heated thin metallic film with CTA(constant temperature anemometer) to the measurements of the laminar and turbulent boundary layer behavior(shock-boundary layer-interaction) in a transonic wind tunnel. Results of measurements with hot-film sensors on transonic compressor blades are extremely difficult to interpret because of ambiguous probe signals due to the complexity of the local flow pattern. In order to get the explicit information and give the designer to interpret characteristic signals from hot-film probes, a method was developed by comparing the results with other measuring technic results.

  • Shell finite elements are widely used for the analysis of thin section objects such as sheet metal parts, automobile bodies and et al. due to their computational efficiency. Since many of input data for finite element analysis are given as solid models or triangulated surface models, one should extract midsurface information from these input data initially and then construct shell meshes on the extracted midsurfaces. In this paper, a method of generating shell elements on midsurfaces directly from input models has been proposed, in which midsurface generating process can be omitted. In order to construct shell meshes, the input models should be triangulated on surfaces first, and then tetrahedral elements are generated by using an advancing front method, and finally mid shell surfaces are obtained from tetrahedral meshes. Some examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • This paper presents the results of analytical invesstigation of the buckling behavior of thin-walled box-section column. Throughout this investigation, the single curve for finding the buckling stress at each effective slenderness ratio is derived by modification of the Rankine's formula. The applicable formula in the small slederness region is derived by considering the inelastic behavior of material. Additionally, the bifurcation criterion(slenderness ratio) which can distinguish between the local and overall buckling mode shapes is suggested by equating the local and overall buckling stresses. The overall buckling formula is closely concurrent with the experiments for the rectangular tubes.

  • Polarization of the radar wave refers to the ellipticity angle and orientation angle of the polarization ellipse. An evaluation of the polarization response can help understand the scattering mechanisms involved for a particular area of interest or provide information for image classification and algorithm section. C- and L-band polarization responses measured at urban area show the results that the polarization behavior for dihedral comer reflector or short, thin cylinder reflector appears at located in city streets or buildings site which are lined up and the polarization behavior for a large conducting sphere appears at parts of test site particularly river, flat, and vegetated areas. Also, the co- and cross-polarized response graphs and polarimetric parameters are discussed.

  • To study of the rate of damage and morphological change when apply perm and dye according to kinds of curly hair, measured the thickness of hair and divided the samples into groups. Measured the chromaticity and thickness according to kinds of curly hair and chemical treatment with Spectrum colormeter and Micrometer. Measured the tensile strength of hair then calculated the damage rate. After tensile test, took photographs of the section and surface with the electron microscope.

  • The closed form of the stiffness matrix is derived in terms of closed forms of intergrals for analyses of plane frame members containing linerly tapered members with the cross section of thin-walled tube. The series expansion forms of these are also developed to study the errors in the closed form of the stiffness matrix. The useful limits of the closed form of integrals are defined in terms of the relative taper.

  • For quantitative understanding of gas discharge phenomena, we should know electron collision cross section. $GeH_4$ is used in many applications with $Si_2H_6$ gas, such as amorphous alloy, a thin film of silicon and solar cell. Therefore, we understand the electron transport characteristics and analysed the electron transport coefficients, the electron drift velocity W, the longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficient $ND_L$ and $ND_T$, and the ionization coefficient $\alpha$/N in $GeH_4$gas over the E/N range from 0.01 to 1000 Td by two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation.

  • This study was developed high-quality a large size precast channel structure using polymer concrete to improve quality of the product as well as to enhance construction quality. Practical precast channel structure design and manufacture procedure for the high polymer concrete were described in this paper. Precast PC represent the fastest growing segment of the polymer concrete industry. The fast curing, high strength, and low impermeability permit thin section and rapid reuse of moulds. Precast channel structure will carry out structural experiment and analysis.

  • In order to investigate the spermiogenesis of the Korean Native Jin-do dog, the tissue sampled from the testis and the epididymis of matured dog were conventionally prepared as thin sections. And then these sections were observed under a transmission electron microscope. Based on the development of various permanent organelle and certain transient structures, the spermiogenesis of the dog could be divided into four major phases: Golgi, cap, acrosome and maturation; and these phases had been futher subdivided into seven stages. In the maturatin phase, the karyoplasm has been condensed completely and the nucleus eleongated as the movement of the unclear ring. The equatorial segment has notable waist-form at the late acrosomal stage. In the cross section of the tail, it shows a typicl 9+9+2 pattern of the axial fiber bundle condisting of the dense fibers, the inner fibers, and a central pair. The dense fiber number 1, 5, 6, and 9 were larger in diameter than the rest of the dense fibers.
