In this study, the effects of wafer warpage on the misalignment during wafer stacking process were investigated. The wafer with $45{\mu}m$ bow height warpage was purposely fabricated by depositing Cu thin film on a silicon wafer and the bonding misalignment after bonding was observed to range from $6{\mu}m$ to $15{\mu}m$. This misalignment could be explained by a combination of $5{\mu}m$ radial expansion and $10{\mu}m$ linear slip. The wafer warpage seemed to be responsible for the slip-induced misalignment instead of radial expansion misalignment.

Here we report our recent result of a new semiconductor material, which has an asymmetric structure. The synthesized molecules consist of anthracene and thiophene connected by bridged ethylene and substituted with hexyl or dodecyl groups as pendants. The semiconductors were synthesized using a McMurry coupling reaction between anthracene-2-carbaldehyde and corresponding 5-hexyl(or dodecyl)thiophene-2-carbaldehyde. A first investigation of synthesized asymmetry AVHT (9a) and AVDT (9b) for the physical properties showed that they have high oxidation potential and thermal stability. The devices prepared by using AVHT (9a) and AVDT (9b) showed the mobility of $2.6{\times}10^{-2}cm^2/Vs$ and $4.4{\times}10^{-3}cm^2/Vs$, respectively, in solution processed OTFTs.
A new water-soluble and self-doped poly(styrenesulfonic acid-graft-aniline), PSSA-g-PANI, for dispersing carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in water was synthesized and its ability to stabilize aqueous CNT dispersions was examined. It was observed that the PANI in PSSA-g-PANI, which has benzoid and quinoid structure, was strongly adsorbed onto the nanotube surface via a strong ${\pi}-{\pi}$ interaction, and thus only gentle sonication causes exfoliation of CNT ropes to small bundles and the long-term stability of their resulting dispersions was much better than commercial surfactants. Furthermore, when thin films of PSSA-g-PANI/CNT are prepared from aqueous dispersion and their electrical conductivities are measured by the four probe technique, it is observed that their conductivities are in the range of 1.5-2.5 S/cm.
Screen-printing and doctor blade method were investigated and proposed as an electrode coating process for high power capacitor. CV measured from the amorphous $MnO_2$ electrode prepared by screen-printing shows closer to ideal capacitor characteristics. Specific capacitances calculated from CVs with potential scan rate of 50mV/s were 5.8, 81.8, and 172.0 F/g for electrode thickness of $140{\mu}m,\;24{\mu}m,\; 3{\mu}m$, respectively. Assumed that utilization of active $MnO_2$ in electrode of screen-printing is $100\%$, those were $3.4\%$ in one of paste method and $47.6\%$ in one of doctor blade method. The screen-printing can be good technique to coat thin film on current collector for high power application.
Statement of problem. Nano-scale calcium-phosphate coating on the anodizing titanium surface using ion beam-assisted deposition (IBAD) has been recently introduced to improve the early osseointegration. However, not much is known about their surface characteristics that have influence on tissue-implant interaction. Purpose. This study was aimed to investigate microtopography, surface roughness, surface composition, and wettability of the titanium surface modified by the anodic oxidation and calcium phosphate coating using IBAD. Material and methods. Commercially pure titanium disks were used as substrates. The experiment was composed of four groups. Group MA surfaces represented machined surface. Group AN was anodized surface. Group CaP/AN was anodic oxidized and calcium phosphate coated surfaces. Group SLA surfaces were sandblasted and acid etched surfaces. The prepared titanium discs were examined as follows. The surface morphology of the discs was examined using SEM. The surface roughness was measured by a confocal laser scanning microscope. Phase components were analyzed using thin-film x-ray diffraction. Wettability analyses were performed by contact angle measurement with distilled water, formamide, bromonaphtalene and surface free energy calculation. Results. (1) The four groups showed specific microtopography respectively. Anodized and calcium phosphate coated specimens showed multiple micropores and tiny homogeneously distributed crystalline particles. (2) The order of surface roughness values were, from the lowest to the highest, machined group, anodized group, anodized and calcium phosphate deposited group, and sandblasted and acid etched group. (3) Anodized and calcium phosphate deposited group was found to have titanium and titanium anatase oxides and exhibited calcium phosphorous crystalline structures. (4) Surface wettability was increased in the order of calcium phosphate deposited group, machined group, anodized group, sandblasted and acid etched group. Conclusion. After ion beam-assisted deposition on anodized titanium, the microporous structure remained on the surface and many small calcium phosphorous crystals were formed on the porous surface. Nanoscale calcium phosphorous deposition induced roughness on the microporous surface but hydrophobicity was increased.
BaTiO3 sputtering targets of 3 inch diameter were prepared by sintering the CIP (Cold Isotatic Pressing) compacts at 136$0^{\circ}C$ for 3hrs. The apparent density and grain size were 97% and 30${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. After BaTiO3 films were deposited on Si and Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates using these targets, films were annealed at various conditions and the crystallization behavior, reaction with the substrate and the electrical properties were investigated. The films on both substrates required 5~20hrs furnace annealing for crystallization at the temperatures from $600^{\circ}C$ to 80$0^{\circ}C$. For the films on Si substrate, interaction between the film and the substrate was suppressed upt o $700^{\circ}C$ for 10 hrs and the relative dielectric constant was 30. As the annelaing temperature and time were increased, the relative dielectric constants of the films decreased due to the formation of silicate phases through the reaction with the substrate. For the BaTiO3 films on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate, the reaction with the substrate was further reduced when the annealing condition was identical to that for Si substrate, but the reaction between the layers in Pt electrode took place above $700^{\circ}C$. When the films were annealed at $600^{\circ}C$ where the stability of Pt electrode was sustained, relative dielectric constant was increased to 110 since the reaction with substrate was effectively reduced even for a longer annealing time and the crystallization was enhanced.

A method to improve the photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide by modification with a sensitizer and a metal oxide is proposed. To achieve this goal, we used metal oxides as dopants. In particular, $CaWO_4$ and $Gd_2O_2S$:Tb were used because their 2.6 eV and 2.2 eV band gap energy and optical properties have a large positive effect on photocatalysis. The improvement in the photocatalytic activity of $TiO_2$ modified with $Gd_2O_2S$:Tb under ultraviolet light irradiation is described in a previous study. The present work focuses on the sensitization of metal oxide-modified $TiO_2$. Having observed the ultraviolet-visible absorption spectra of 3,4,9,10-Perylenetetracarboxylic diimide in the wide visible-light region from 400 nm to 650 nm and the broad peaks in its photoluminescence spectra at 695 nm and 717 nm, we decided to use this perylene dye to sensitize modified $TiO_2$ to enhance its activity as a visible-light harvesting photocatalyst. We also explored the positive effects thin-film surface changes stemming from ultraviolet pre-treatment have on photocatalytic activity. Finally, we subjected several metal oxide-modified $TiO_2$ products sensitized by the perylene dye to ultraviolet pre-treatment, obtaining the most active photocatalysts.

Anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) nanotemplates for nano electronic device applications have been attracting increasing interest because of ease of fabrication, low cost process, and possible fabrication in large area. The size and density of the nanostructured materials can be controlled by changing the pore diameter and the pole density of AAO nanotemplate. In this paper, nano porous alumina films AAO nanotemplate was fabricated by second anodization method using sputterd Al films. In addition, effects of electrolyte temperature and anodization voltate on the microstructure of porous alumina films were investigated. As the electrolyte temperature was increased from $8^{\circ}C$ to $20^{\circ}C$, the growth rate of nanoporous alumina films was increased from 86.2 nm/min to 179.5 nm/min. The AAO nanotemplate fabricated with optimal condition had the mean pore diameter of 70 nm and the pore depth of $1\;{\mu}m$.

Ni/Al ('/' denotes deposition sequence) contacts were deposited on Al-implanted 4H-SiC for ohmic contact formation, and the conduction properties were characterized and compared with those of Ni-only contacts. The thicknesses of the Ni and Al thin film were 30 nm and 300 nm, respectively, and the films were sequentially deposited bye-beam evaporation without vacuum breaking. Rapid thermal anneal (RTA) temperature was varied as follows : $840^{\circ}C$, $890^{\circ}C$, and $940^{\circ}C$. The specific contact resistivity of the Ni contact was about $^{\sim}2\;{\pm}\;10^{-2}\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$, However, with the addition of Al overlayer, the specific contact resistivity decreased to about $^{\sim}2\;{\pm}\;10^{-4}\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$, almost irrespective of RTA temperature. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the Ni contact confirmed the existence of various Ni silicide phases, while the results of Ni/Al contact samples revealed that Al-contaning phases such as $Al_3Ni$, $Al_3Ni_2$, $Al_4Ni_3$, and $Ab_{3.21}Si_{0.47}$ were additionally formed as well as the Ni silicide phases. Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) spectrum showed interfacial reaction zone mainly consisting of Al and Si at the contact interface, and it was also shown that considerable amounts of Si and C have diffused toward the surface. This indicates that contact resistance lowering of the Ni/Al contacts is related with the formation of the formation of interfacial reaction zone containing Al and Si. From these results, possible mechanisms of contact resistance lowering by the addition of Al were discussed.
