  • To determine operational requirement, the environmental condition for an equipment must be investigated, and to certify equipment's normalized operation, appropriate test must be carried out under the considered environmental condition. The actual environmental conditions to which equipment is likely to be exposed are normally complex and will comprise a number of environmental factors and corresponding parameters, When defining the environmental conditions for a certain application it is, therefore, necessary to list the factors involved and select the appropriate severity. For the preparation to determine operational requirement, environmental condition of equipment is investigated.   • A new geothermal energy source obtained from a tunnel structure has been studied in this paper. The geothermal energy is extracted through a textile-type ground heat exchanger named "Energy Textile" that is installed between a shotcrete layer and a guided drainage geotexitle. A test bed was constructed in an abandoned railway tunnel to verify the geothermal heat exchanger system performed by the energy textile. To evaluate the applicability of the energy textile, we measured the thermal conductivity of shotcrete and lining samples which were prepared in accordance with a common mixture design. An overall performance of the energy textile installed in the test bed was evaluated by carrying out a series of in-situ thermal response test. In addition, a 3-D finite volume analysis (FLUENT) was adopted to simulate the operation of the ground heat exchanger being encased in the energy textile with the consideration of the effect of the shotcrete and lining thermal conductivity.

OECD test guideline 420 고정용량 급성경구독성시험법에 대한 고찰 (Review Newly Adopted OECD Acute Oral Toxicity Test Guideline 420)

  • The OECD acute toxicity guideline has been revised recently to protect animal welfare. The GLP authority of the Ministry of Environment, the National Institute for Environmental Research, recommended GLP laboratories in Korea to ufo the revised acute toxicity guideline. This study was carried out to optimize newly adopted OECD test guideline 420 (TG 420). Bisphenol A was selected for test chemical. Following TG420, Bisphenol A was classified as class 5/unclassified group. The revised TG 420 was very effective test in minimizing animal number and classifying chemicals. The method, however had short-coming in evaluation of test results statistically because the test had no control group, and the test should be stopped when animals were dead at the lowest dose or alive at the highest dose. TG 420 required at Least 20 animals to complete the test, but it could result in producing unused animals that need to sacrifice.

부산점토 재성형 시료의 압축특성에 관한 연구 (The study for compressibility of reconsititued Busan clay)

  • The compressibility of clay has been expressed e-log p' graph. In natural clay, e-log p' graph are changed by deposition condition and chemical cementation as well as Atterberg limits, whereas in reconstituted clay, it is generally known that e-log p’ curve is varied with Atterberg limits. However, e-log p' graph is possible to change according to the reconstituting methods and test conditions. In this study, consolidation tests are performed as various test condition for reconstituted Busan clay. Test results show that the relationship e/$e_L$ and log p' is almost constant with $e_L$. And the compression index obtained from slurry method sample is larger than one obtained from kneading method sample. Intrinsic compression line (ICL) of Busan clay is identical with ICL suggested by Burland.

  • The relative density of soil indicate loose and dense state of sand. Because sand is low compressibility, initial relative density of sand is important effect factor of compression and shear behavior. To measure exactly relative density, the exactly maximum and minimum void ratio was determinated by laboratory tests. Generally, vibrating table method is adapted for minimum void ratio(KS F 2345). However KS F 2345 is not consider the particle break during the vibrating table test. In this study, The minimum void ratio is compared with a method of Pluviation and Vibrating table test results using the K-7(crushed sand). It is concluded that the K-7 sand particles were crushed during the vibrating table test and vibrating table test is not a suitable test for a crushed sand $e_{min}$.

  • Owing to a reliance on imported products from Europe and Japan, the use of logistics equipment with poor energy efficiency coupled with high maintenance costs can lead to high operating costs for some domestic logistic centers. To lower their operating costs, the logistic centers use motorized roller conveyors. In order to commercialize this process, it is necessary to establish the test criteria and assess the reliability of the process. Currently, there exists no standard verification method to test the reliability of motorized roller conveyors. In this study, we propose reliability assessment criteria for a: i) reliability test, ii) environmental test, iii) safety test, and iv) lifetime test.

  • Differential pressure sensor for DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is the important part of a automobile exhaust system. This device measures the pressure of before DOC and after DPF to determine whether the DPF regenerate. In this paper reliability assessment criteria for DPF differential pressure sensor are established on terms of quality calcification test and lifetime test. The former quality certification test comprises general performance test and environmental test. Items which pass the test undergo lifetime test which guarantees the extent of mean lifetime with certain confidence.

  • BLDC motors are stored in the devices such as CD-RW, COMBO, DVD-ROM and CD-ROM. It is indispensable to establish reliability assessment criteria for BLDC motors, especially in the world where IT grows rapidly. In this article, reliability certification procedure is given.   • PAM(Power Amplifier Module) is the important part of a mobile phone transmitter. It amplifies the strength of signal transmitting from a mobile phone to base stations enough to resist noise or interference.   • 저농도 섬유상 분진 표준시료를 제조하여 균질도와 정확성을 조사하고, 모의 숙련도 시험을 통해 최적의 숙련도 시험 방안을 평가하였다. 분석 결과 표준시료 농도와 석면밀도의 상관성이 0.9863~0.9968으로 매우 높게 나타났고, 표준시료를 이용한 모의 숙련도 시험을 통해서, 국내에서의 숙련도 시험 결과 평가 기준은 표준시료 분석결과의 Z값이 ${\mid}Z{\mid}{\leq}2$를 만족하는 것이 타당한 것으로 나타났다.
