The purpose of this plan was to introduce the imaginary environment concept to modem environment design which was drawn by comparison of historic and cultural landscape. An area of $19,056m^2$ in I1-ja mountain water reservoir, located in 94 Dun-Chon-Dong, Gangdong-Gu, Seoul was selected for this planning. The concepts of Barrier-Free Design and Universal Design were introduced in order to accept the demands of various social classes. Based on the results of natural and cultural environment, Animism, Heaven, Earth and Man Theory and Yin-Yang and the Five Elements Theory these concepts were introduced for the philosophical background. Concept planning, topic selection, space planning and axis establishment were conducted during the framework step of the plan. Circulation planning, planting planning, facility and pavement planning, and light planning were conducted during the initial planning step. Lastly, detailed designing was performed for the major spaces. In addition, the imaginary environment concept was applied, ranging from the structural aspect of the space to designing factors of the facility in order to achieve placeness and practicality. In conclusion, this may be the first case design applying the imaginary environment concept to the environmental design with natural environment factors such as animals, plants, terrains and climate, and cultural such as cities, places, time, thoughts and symbols which are all factors to be considered in the existing environment design.

Since emotion, creativity, and imagination has become the source of creating added value, the purpose of this study is to grasp the concept of high concept which has appeared as a major key word of modern culture and analyze the types of emotional expression found in modern fashion. Study methods were focused on literature review and case study. The literature review was conducted by news stories at home and abroad. The examples of case study were collected in fashion collection journals and related Internet web sites with their focus on from 2000 S/S to 2009 F/W to analyze emotional expression found in high concept-reflected fashion. The concept of 'high concept' suggested by Pink, Daniel H. lays on stress on ability to creative emotional value or cultural artistic value hidden behind the functional value, to make stories, and to combine ideas which do not seem to be connected with existing things. As a result of study, The forms of emotional expression found in high concept-reflected fashion included: art collaboration and art inspiration which were expressed through cross-category of culture and art; multi-culture design which expresses a mixture between western fashion and oriental costumes; funology design which expresses efficient value by high technology and fun value through humorous elements; and emotional digital design which can be transformed in function, shape and the use of materials representing light which is effectively used for fashion to represent fantasy or illusion connected with digital technology.

Mount Angel Abbey library shows not only the general characteristics which Aalto had shown in his 60s but also special features of his last library project. Special features of Mount Angel library are the result of considering geography and existing context of the site. General characteristics of the library mainly come from the Aalto's concept for library especially considering light. Due to steep site, Mount Angel Abbey library has multi-layered and dynamic spatial configuration. Aalto considered the importance of daylight in the library and applied various kinds of openings to induce natural light. Therefore, Mount Angel Abbey library is the final result of his library type that developed from the Viipuri library of 1930s and his architectural thoughts of 1960s. As a combination of space and light, Mount Angel Abbey library is the outcome of Aalto's unique functional thoughts which maximize the function of the library through efficient induction of natural light.

The attempt of the contemporary society to overcome the environmental crisis is considered what the whole world is currently interested in. Since value of resources recycling has become emphasized even more, the field of design is, now, working hard to prove how much they are passionate about this eco-friendly design. Of all those activities that the field of design is involving in, a concept called 'upcycling' is receiving the greatest spotlight as a new trend. When it comes to upcycling, you should understand it as a both functional and aesthetic upgraded idea of conventional 'recycling' which would re-use waste resources. With this upcycling, you will have a chance to re-create an object of a new value, and it is a design concept which would consider environmental aspects but also social aspects. Since the year of 2000, the field of furniture design has been pursuing a new design trend which would intensively concern this upcycling concept. In the light of the present circumstances described on the above, this study conducts a case analysis on how upcycling of different materials is applied to furniture design since the year 2000. In doing so, the study improve understanding on furniture design as proposing new ways for you to look at the concerned design. Not only that, it also comes up with ideas and directions for new upcycling furniture design which could be demanded by the environmental industry.

This study is focused on three major museum projects completed during 1990's by Richard Meier who is known as the romantic modernist as well as one of the architects who continue their devotion on completing the fourth dimensional spatial concept through the practice. Main focus of the study will be analyzing the space and design elements shown in the Museum of Contemporary Art (Barcelona, Spain, 1986-95), Museum of Television & Radio (Beverly Hills, CA., 1994-96) and the Getty Center(Los Angeles, CA., 1984-97), and find out the new meaning of museum design suggested by the architect. The analyzation was done based on the actual sight visits and through the acquired references. The museum designs done by Richard Meier show consistency between visual language, use of 'light, space and form' as the design elements to connect interior and exterior to create openness and harmony with surrounding condition. Additionally, greatness of the architectural elevation, efficient use of interconnecting space, adoption of natural light, affective use of the space, careful consideration to the exhibiting items, spread of information centers, balance between large and small exhibition spaces, and his concept on providing choices to the viewer within the museum are the main issues in designing the museum in order to give various spatial experience to the visitors.

Indoor of 21th century information-oriented society is feeling necessity of emotional design that can satisfy emotional of human. Desire of modern becomes various and emotional lighting design is risen on important element in indoor plan on human oriented modern society who become complicated. Emotional space is trend that is atomized as go today and is expanded as the target and area also go. That is, is included as target of emotional space to light and sound, taste, smack and is appealing by senses of human. Wish to do color that is optical element among element of senses differently and present design. Design concept of this research is emotional lighting design that can receive. It is lighting that equip emotional beauty and ability from modern indoor improving space. I wish to quote emotional lighting design about effect gotten to indoor by sight of designer.

The dome structure has been treated in two layers among the techniques that have formed the space in Baroque architecture and the light used to be manipulated to create the openness of space and the fantasy of atmosphere. Such an expression technique has influenced on the expression of space in the architecture of New York Five in the 1960s to 1970s and the concept of multiple space embellished with various layers has appeared in the architectural concept of New York Five; meanwhile, the common meaning with the technique of double layers and the ways of phenomenal expressions that have recognized the existence of space in the Baroque period has been achieved through the light, immaterial organism. It means that the existing concept of light limited simply to the plane elements of brightness and darkness has been treated as a formative element that has defined and adjusted the visual expansion and reduction of the space Itself and special existence and has been used as an element of the media of spatial structure. In addition, these elements have been treated as another solution for the emotional aspects of space. Therefore, this study compares the plastic and formative meaning of the Baroque architecture with that of New York Five in terms of the relation between space and light and examines them; in doing so, it will give a clue to understand various and new space expression techniques to many architects and space designers who have led modern architecture.

This is an interior design for a furniture & lighting design exhibition. The concept of design is to secure the smooth flow planning of an audience and effective direction of an exhibit Design content include 1) installation(passage of light) to guide an audience from entrance to right side of the exhibition space to prohibit the flow dispersion and keep smooth continual circulation flow plan 2)image-wall to introduce exhibition 3)installation to help the global understanding of exhibit 4)exhibition stand design considering proper height of audience's eye.

This article aimed at identifying the concept of 'artistic-quality' of furniture and presenting the concept of 'artistic-quality based furniture creation' as the future direction of furniture design. For this, the authors approached to the theoretical background of the concept of artistic-quality, and then examined the prospect of practical application of the concept by analyzing the tendencies in today's art furniture. In this light, 'artistic-quality' of furniture could be understood as a quality that triggers the designer's venturous spirit throughout the process of furniture creation, so that the designer keeps seeking for the novelty and innovation in his experimental design and process. The feature of the current tendencies of art furniture in terms of the expression and effect, which could explain this venturous spirit of artistic-quality based furniture creation, could be summarized as follows; first, High-touch: Furniture that exemplifies the artistic-quality by specific texture of handmade quality, second, High-feeling: Furniture that arouses the new feelings and new concepts of furniture structure & function by experiments on new abstract forms of furniture, and third, High-mentality: Furniture that leads us to the sphere of subtle aesthetic recognition and mentality with its specific poetic expression and sensibility.

The purpose of this study is to find out the way of embodying architectural concept in Nussbaum Museum for complementing present abstract and generalized research. This study tries to examine the close relationship between a certain concept and Nussbaum museum through analyzing architectural characteristics and searching its principles by concrete application of concept. The Architectural concept "Museum without exit", which Libeskind applied to Nussbaum Museum, is based on the dramatic life of Jewish painter Felix Nussbaum with relation to Holocaust, physical background of site and features of program, Libeskind Applied his architectural concept from the beginning to the most parts of the museum. His new museum subverts notions and logic of general features of existing museums. Libeskind's architectural concepts are especially applied to site plan, massing, circulation and spatial configuration. "Museum without exit" creates labyrinth like circulation based on stories including Nussbaum's life, his painting tendency and circumstances of those days. It also realize sensuous space through spatial shape and light control. Although some critics criticize that this museum is not suitable for paint collection because of overwhelming strength of architectural space. However, considering this museum's function of a kind of Holocaust museum beyond personal art gallery, Libeskind's 'museum without exit' shows effective realization of architectural concept for Jewish painter Felix Nussbaum's museum.
