  • An important quality characteristic of a software reliability.Software reliablilty growh models prvied the tools to evluate and moniter the reliabolty growth behavior of the sofwate during the testing phase Therefore failure data collected during the testing phase should be continmuosly analyzed on the basis of some selected software reliability growth models.For the cases where nonhomogeneous Poisson proxess models are the candiate models,we suggest Poisson regression model, which expresses the relationship between the expeted and actual failures counts in disjonint time intervals,for analyzing the failure count data.The weighted lest squares method is then used to-estimate the paramethers in the parameters in the model:The resulting estimators are equivalent to the maximum likelihood estimators. The method is illustrated by analyzing the failutr count data gathered from a large- scale switchong system.

  • Recently, the most mobile application software developers are being faced by short developing time (fast time-to-market), various requirements and requirement changes. In order to overcome the environment, developer should support user friendly GUI and assure the quality from the early developing process using GUI test method. This paper proposes a test method and tool for mobile software GUI, which reduces test time and supports comfortable test environment by user oriented UI design. We implemented a tool based on test scenarios based image flow for high testing accuracy and test case reusability. And the results show the characteristics of the method compared to the existing tools.

  • Purpose - This study investigate the effect of innovative capacity on corporate export performance and moderating flexibility. Design/methodology/approach - For this, hypotheses were established by reviewing previous studies and an empirical analysis was conducted for testing. Using SPSS 22.0, a frequency analysis of related variables was conducted. Through an exploratory factor analysis, validity and reliability tests of measuring tools were conducted and a descriptive statistics was analyzed for collected data result and hypotheses testing. Findings - Finally, with a verified model, the hypotheses and the moderating effects were tested. The results are as follows; The innovationa capacities have a positive effect on export performance and flexibility However, the flexbilitiy was not moderator in the relationship between innovative capacity and export performance. Research implications or Originality - According to the results above, this study presents directions to improve export performance of technological innovative type SMEs.   • Distributed control system architecture is adopted for I&C systems of Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor, where the geographically distributed control systems are connected to centralized servers & display stations via switched Ethernet networks. TCP/IP communication plays a significant role in the successful operations of this architecture. The communication tasks at control nodes are taken care by TCP/IP offload modules; local area switched network is realized using layer-2/3 switches, which are finally connected to network interfaces of centralized servers & display stations. Safety, security, reliability, and fault tolerance of control systems used for safety-related applications of nuclear power plants is ensured by indigenous design and qualification as per guidelines laid down by regulatory authorities. In the case of commercially available components, appropriate suitability analysis is required for getting the operation clearances from regulatory authorities. This paper details the proposed approach for the suitability analysis of TCP/IP communication nodes, including control systems at the field, network switches, and servers/display stations. Development of test platform using commercially available tools and diagnostics software engineered for control nodes/display stations are described. Each TCP link behavior with impaired packets and multiple traffic loads is described, followed by benchmarking of the network switch's routing characteristics and security features.

Prediction of compressive strength of sustainable concrete using machine learning tools

  • The technique of experimentally determining concrete's compressive strength for a given mix design is time-consuming and difficult. The goal of the current work is to propose a best working predictive model based on different machine learning algorithms such as Gradient Boosting Machine (GBM), Stacked Ensemble (SE), Distributed Random Forest (DRF), Extremely Randomized Trees (XRT), Generalized Linear Model (GLM), and Deep Learning (DL) that can forecast the compressive strength of ternary geopolymer concrete mix without carrying out any experimental procedure. A geopolymer mix uses supplementary cementitious materials obtained as industrial by-products instead of cement. The input variables used for assessing the best machine learning algorithm not only include individual ingredient quantities, but molarity of the alkali activator and age of testing as well. Myriad statistical parameters used to measure the effectiveness of the models in forecasting the compressive strength of ternary geopolymer concrete mix, it has been found that GBM performs better than all other algorithms. A sensitivity analysis carried out towards the end of the study suggests that GBM model predicts results close to the experimental conditions with an accuracy between 95.6 % to 98.2 % for testing and training datasets.

A Study for Testing Validity of Korean Pain Measurement Tool (국어통증척도의 타당도 연구)

  • The main purpose of this study was to clarify the validity with patient's general background of Korean Pain Measurement tool. The subjects of this study were 195 patient from the 8 Med-Surgical wards in H. University Hospital in Seoul. The study was conducted over a 40 day period from Oct. 5, 1985 to Nov. 15, 1985. All patients had pain. Korean Pain Measurement tool and simple discriptive pain scale as Graphic Rating Scale were used to measure the pain, The Pearson Correlation Coefficient test was exercised to measure the correlation between the two kinds of pain tools. To clarify the Sensitivity of Korean Pain tool was used frequency with patient's response. To compare the difference in Pain levels with patient's general background, ANOVA and t-test was employed. To compare the difference in pain levels existed due to pain area of the body used mean numbers. The outcome of the study was as follows : 1. A positive correlation did exist between two pain measurement tools. (r=.2028∼.7768, p <0.002) 2. The sensitive subclass in Korean Pain Measurement tools was 7 subclass. The 7 subclass are inflammatory repeated pain, simple stimulating, traction pressure, dull pain, cavity pain, digestion related pain, suffering. related pain. 3. The existence of levels of pain in accordance with patient's general background, the department of hospital, pain area of the body and school age was supported. Age, sex, religion, marrital status, economic status, acute or chronic status was not supported. 4. The existence of higher pain levels of the body area was anus, chest, and lower pain levels of the body area was eye, ear, nose and throat. Based on the above results, it was found that sensitive subclasses of the Korean Pain Measurement tool was 7 subclass among all of 20 subclass. Thus it can be concluded that Korean Pain Mea-surement tool when partialy used and supplemented, can be an effective tool of pain measurement for the patient in Korea.

Analysis on the Risk-Based Screening Levels Determined by Various Risk Assessment Tools (I): Variability from Different Analyses of Cross-Media Transfer Rates (다양한 위해성평가 방법에 따라 도출한 오염토양 선별기준의 차이에 관한 연구 (I): 매체 간 이동현상 해석에 따른 차이)

  • Risk-based screening levels (RBSLs) of some pollutants for residential adults were derived with risk assessment tools developed by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and Korea Ministry of Environment (KMOE) and compared each other. To make the comparison simple, ingestion of soil, dermal contact with soil, outdoor inhalation of vapors, indoor inhalation of vapors, and inhalation of soil particulates were chosen as exposure pathways. The results showed that the derived RBSLs varied for every exposure pathway. For direct exposure pathways (i.e., ingestion of soil and dermal contact with soil), the derived RBSLs varied mainly due to the different default values for exposure factors and toxicity data. When identical default values for the parameters were used, the same RBSLs could be derived regardless of the assessment tools used. For inhalation of vapors and inhalation of soil particulates, however, different analysis methods for cross-media transfer rates were used and different assumptions were established for each tool, identical RBSLs could not be obtained even if the same default values for exposure factors were used. Especially for inhalation of soil particulates pathway, screening level derived using KMOE approach (most conservative) was approximately 5000~10000 times lower than the screening level derived using ASTM approach (least conservative). Our results suggest that, when deriving RBSL using a specific tool, it is a prerequisite to technically review the analysis methods for cross-media transfer rates as well as to understand how the assessment tool derives the default values for exposure factors.

  • File Carving is a technique for attempting to recover a file without metadata, such as a formated storage media or a damaged file system, and generally looks for a specific header / footer signature and data structure of the file. However, file carving is faced with the problem of recovering fragmented files for a long time, and it is very important to propose a solution for digital forensics because important files are relatively fragmented. To overcome these limitations, various carving techniques and tools are continuously being developed, and data sets from various researches and institutions are provided for functional verification. However, existing data sets are ineffective in verifying tools because of their limited environmental conditions. Therefore, this paper refers to the importance of fragmented file carving and develops 16 images for carving tool verification based on scenarios. The developed images' carving rate and accuracy of each media is shown through Foremost which is well known as a commercial carving tool.

  • The recognition of the importance of lifelong vocational competency development, the proliferation of MOOC, and interest in online education have increased. As a result, efforts are continuously being made to develop an education system for lifelong vocational competency development. However, research on design and development of competency-based evaluation tools and systems in the field of technology engineering is still insufficient. In this paper, we designed and implemented a Competency-based Assessment System for Lifelong Vocational Competency Development(CBAS-LVCD). CBAS-LVCD utilizes NCS-based rubric-based assessment tools to evaluate learners and provides simulation tools for use in technology engineering. This is expected to be of great help in assessing the competencies required for practical affairs in the field of technology engineering, where practical work and on-line testing are limited.

Analysis of academic achievements on above-level testing of newly entering students in science specialized high schools (상급 학년 수준 시험을 활용한 과학고 신입생들의 학업성취도 특성 연구)

  • This study analyzed the academic achievements on above-level testing of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English in newly entering students of science specialized high schools. It can be expected that newly students of science high specialized schools have reached ceiling level in the middle school mathematics and science academic scores. Above-level testing(or off-level testing) is a test tool used to evaluate student's ability which are above-grade level. In this study, above-level testing tools were used to develop the same type examination paper of the 2013 Korean College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English. The conclusions of this study were as follow: First, the academic achievement level of science specialized high school freshmen were higher the average level of general high school senior because that over 50% of them are within the 5 grade of CSAT in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. In English, 19.3% science specialized high school freshmen have reached within the 5 grade of CSAT. Second, as a result of examining characteristics of academic achievement with respect to units of subjects, in mathematics, it was showed that the academic achievement of 'continuity and limit of a function' unit was higher, 'statistics' unit was lower. In physics, the academic achievement of 'Electricity and Magnetism' unit was higher, 'Waves and particles' unit was lower. In chemistry, the academic achievement of 'compounds in life' unit was higher, 'Air' unit was lower. In English, the academic achievement of 'practical sentence' of reading area was higher, 'Sentence' of writing area was lower. In conclusion, above-level testing provided a good strategy for identifying and determining appropriate programming interventions for gifted students who are two or more grade levels above their age-mates in achievements, aptitude, or ability.
