Human emotion recognition is one of the promising applications in the era of artificial super intelligence. Thus far, facial expression traits are considered to be the most widely used information cues for realizing automated emotion recognition. This paper proposes a novel facial expression recognition (FER) method that works well for recognizing emotion from image sequences. To this end, we develop the so-called weighted soft voting classification (WSVC) algorithm. In the proposed WSVC, a number of classifiers are first constructed using different and multiple feature representations. In next, multiple classifiers are used for generating the recognition result (namely, soft voting) of each face image within a face sequence, yielding multiple soft voting outputs. Finally, these soft voting outputs are combined through using a weighted combination to decide the emotion class (e.g., anger) of a given face sequence. The weights for combination are effectively determined by measuring the quality of each face image, namely "peak expression intensity" and "frontal-pose degree". To test the proposed WSVC, CK+ FER database was used to perform extensive and comparative experimentations. The feasibility of our WSVC algorithm has been successfully demonstrated by comparing recently developed FER algorithms.

Most of weapon systems use aided navigation system which integrates inertial navigation and aiding sensors to compensate the INS errors increasing with the passage of time. Various aid sensors can be applied such as Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), radar, barometer, etc., but there might exist time delay caused by signal processing or transferring aid information. This time delay leads out-of-sequence measurements (OOSM) systems. Previously, optimal and suboptimal measurment update method for OOSM systems, where the time delay length are known, are proposed. However, previous algorithm does not guarantee the positive definite property of covariance matrix. In order to improve numerical stability for aided navigation using delayed-measurement, this paper proposes a new measurement covariance update algorithm be similar to Joseph-form in Kalman filter. Futhermore, we propose how to implement it in indirect feedback Kalman filter structure, which is commonly used in aided navigation systems, for time-delayed measurement systems. Simulation and vehicle test results show effectiveness of a proposed algorithm.

In this paper, Band-limlted Gaussian Random Noise and PRBS(pseudo random hinary sequence) are used as a test signals to estimate the dynamic characteristics of the ocuiomotor system. Eye movements of the human subject are measured by E.O.G(electro-oculography) and the control characteristics of the oculomotor system are studied by random signal an-alysis based on the statistical communication theory. The conclusions are summerized as follows. (1) From the frequency response, the gain curve rises slightly at the regions of 0.7~0.9 Hz and 1.8~2 Hz due to the saccades which are occurred during usual tracking. (2) The average rate of information transfer by the oculomotor control system is 1.24 bits/sec, being calculated from the power spectral density and the cross spectral density for the Gaussian random input.
Epitope tagging is the process of fusing a set of amino acid residues that are recognized as an antigenic determinant to a protein of interest. Tagging a protein with an epitope facilitates various immunochemical analyses of the tagged protein with a specific monoclonal antibody. The monoclonal antibody H8 has subtype specificity for an epitope derived from the preS2 region of hepatitis B virus surface antigen. Previous studies on serial deletions of the preS2 region indicated that the preS2 epitope was located in amino acid residues 130~142. To test whether the amino acid sequence in this interval is sufficient to confer on proteins the antigenicity recognizable by the antibody H8, the set of amino acid residues in the interval was tagged to the amino terminal of ${\beta}$-galactosidase and to the carboxyl terminal of the truncated $p56^{lck}$ fragment. The tagged ${\beta}$-galactosidase, expressed in Escherichia coli, maintained the enzymatic activity and was immunoprecipitated efficiently with H8. The tagged $p56^{lck}$ fragment, synthesized in an in vitro translation system, was also immunoprecipitated specifically with H8. These results demonstrate that the amino acid sequence of the preS2 region can be used efficiently for the epitope tagging approach.
Transformation behavior and superelastic behavior of Ti-Ni-Cu alloys with various Cu content has been investigated by means of electrical resistivity measurement, X-ray diffraction, tensile test and transmission electron microscopy. Two types of heat treatment are given to the specimens: i) Solutions treatment. ii) thermo-mechanical treatment. The transformation sequence in solution treated Ti-Ni-Cu Alloys substituted by Cu for Ni up to 5at.% occurs to $B2{\rightleftarrows}B19^{\prime}$ and it proceeds in two stages by addition of 10at.%Cu, i. e, $B2{\rightleftarrows}B19{\rightleftarrows}B19^{\prime}$. Also, it has been found that Ti-30Ni-20Cu alloy transformed in one stage : $B2{\rightleftarrows}B19$. The thermo-mechanically treated Ti-47Ni-3Cu alloy transformed in two stages: B2${\rightleftarrows}$rhomboheral phase${\rightleftarrows}B19^{\prime}$, while transformation sequence in Ti-45Ni-5Cu and Ti-40Ni-10Cu alloy transformed as same as solution treated specimens. The critical stress for inducing slip deformation in solution treated and thermo-mechanically treated Ti-40Ni-10Cu alloy is about 90MPa and 320Mpa respectively.
In this paper, a new approach to Korean POS (Part-of-Speech) tagging is proposed. In previous works, a Korean POS tagger was regarded as a post-processor of a morphological analyzer, and as such a tagger was used to determine the most likely morpheme/POS sequence from morphological analysis. In the proposed approach, however, the POS tagger is supposed to generate the most likely morpheme and POS pair sequence directly from the given sentences. 398,632 eojeol POS-tagged corpus and 33,467 eojeol test data are used for training and evaluation, respectively. The proposed approach shows 96.31% of POS tagging accuracy.

Event-specific PCR detection methods are the primary trend in genetically modified (GM) plant detection owing to their high specificity based on the flanking sequence of the exogenous integrant. Therefore, this study describes a real-time PCR system for event-specific GM canola GT73, consisting of a set of primers, TaqMan probe, and single target standard plasmid. For the specific detection of GT73 canola, the 3'-integration junction sequence between the host plant DNA and the integrated specific border was targeted. To validate the proposed method, test samples of 0, 1, 3, 5, and 10% GT73 canola were quantified. The method was also assayed with 15 different plants, and no amplification signal was observed in a real-time PCR assay with any of the species tested, other than GT73 canola.
Recently, a method of measuring impulse response is widely used for a room acoustic evaluation instead of measuring reverberation time by white noise excitation. Comparing with the traditional reverberation time measurement, this method has many advantages such as good repeatability and the ability to extract various room acoustic parameters at one measurement. In this study, the author developed a measuring system that can extract mono-aural room acoustic parameters from an impulse response measured with MLS (Maximum Length Sequence) signal excitation. These room acoustic parameters include reverberation times(EDT, RT), speech intelligibilities(C50, C80, D, U50, U80, AI) and sound strength(G). This paper introduces the configuration of the developed measuring system, test results and discussions for the measurements at several rooms.

Sclerotinia rot was observed on Ixeridium dentatum cultivated as a succeeding crop in a garlic field in Seosan-si, Korea during the growing season in 2016 and 2017. Symptoms progressed from the initial irregular, water-soaked spots on main stems to wilting and eventually to plant death. White, cottony mycelia and black, irregular sclerotia formed on the basal stem and on soil surfaces. The optimal temperature of hyphal growth and sclerotia germination were $20^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, respectively. Sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions revealed that the three strains isolated from Ixeridium dentatum are grouped with Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Three strains were identified as Sclerotinia sclerotiorum based on morphological features, ITS sequence, and pathogenicity test. To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first report of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum causing sclerotinia rot on Ixeridium dentatum in Korea.
Tandem GMAW is one of the high performance welding process and used in many industries to increase the productivity. An evaluation is presented of the mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of the Tandem GMAW and conventional Single GMAW welds in 30mm thickness 490MPa grade steel by comparison method. Welding sequence and bead with and hight was kept, avoiding the effect of the bead shape and welding sequence. Tension, bending, hardness and Charpy impact test results of Tandem GMAW met the requirement of specification and showed similar distribution with conventional Single GMAW. Volume fraction of ferrite phase in weld metal showed little difference between Tandem GMAW and Single GMAW
