  • Temporal data model is able to handle the time varying information, which is to add temporal attributes to conventional data model. The temporal data model is classified into three models depending upon supporting time dimension, that are the valid time model to support valid time, the transaction time model to support transaction model, and the bitemporal data model to support valid time and transaction time. Most temporal data models are designed to process the temporal data by extending the relational model. There are two types or temporal data model, which are the tuple timestamping and the attribute timestamping depending on time dimension. In this research, a concepts of temporal data model, the time dimension, types of thc data model, and a consideration for the data model design are discussed Also, temporal data models in terms of the time dimension are compared. And the aggregate function model of valid time model is proposed, and then logical analysis for its computing consts has been done.

Sptaio-temporal databases are important to store the real-time location information of large spatio-temporal objects efficiently and retrieve them rapidly. Accordingly necessity for spatio-temporal database system that can manage spatial information, aspatial information and temporal information of spatio-temporal objects is increasing. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a spatio-temporal data model that is able to efficiently manage historical spatio-temporal objects that change dynamically their states as time. Also, various spatio-temporal operations and constraint conditions are defined to keep integrity of spatio-temporal data and spatio-temporal operations.

  • Data mining refers to a set of techniques for discovering implicit and useful knowledge from large database. Many studies on data mining have been pursued and some of them have involved issues of temporal data mining for discovering knowledge from temporal database, such as sequential pattern, similar time sequence, cyclic and temporal association rules, etc. However, all of the works treat problems for discovering temporal pattern from data which are stamped with time points and do not consider problems for discovering knowledge from temporal interval data. For example, there are many examples of temporal interval data that it can discover useful knowledge from. These include patient histories, purchaser histories, web log, and so on. Allen introduces relationships between intervals and operators for reasoning about relations between intervals. We present a new data mining technique that can discover temporal relation rules in temporal interval data by using the Allen's theory. In this paper, we present two new algorithms for discovering algorithm for generating temporal relation rules, discovers rules from temporal interval data. This technique can discover more useful knowledge in compared with conventional data mining techniques.

  • The key characteristic of video data is its spatial/temporal relationships. In this paper, we propose an content based video retrieval system based on hierarchical data structure for specifying the temporal semantics of video data. In this system, video data's hierarchical structure temporal relationship, inter video object temporal relationship, and moving video object temporal relationship can be represented. We also implemented these video data's temporal relationship into an object-relational database management system using inheritance, encapsulation function overloading, etc. So more extended and richer temporal functions can be used to support a broad range of temporal queries.

  • Recently, along with the development of IoT technology, technologies for wirelessly sensing various data, such as sensor nodes, RFID, CCTV, smart phones, etc., have rapidly developed, and in the field of multiple applications, to utilize sensor network related technology Have been actively pursued in various fields. Therefore, as GeoSensor utilization increases, query processing systems for efficiently processing 2D data such as spatial sensor data are actively researched. However, existing spatial query processing systems do not support a spatial-temporal data type and a spatial-temporal operator for processing spatial-temporal sensor data. Therefore, they are inadequate for processing spatial-temporal sensor data like GeoSensor. Accordingly, this paper developed a spatial-temporal query processing system, for efficient spatial-temporal query processing of spatial-temporal sensor data in a sensor network.

  • To efficiently manage data varying over time and process event driven transactions, some of the various database applications recently emerged require database systems supporting both a temporal data model and active rule processing. There has been much progress in independent research on temporal databases and active databases, but studies on databases which support both functions, have been rare. In this paper, an active temporal rule model supporting both active rule processing and temporal data model is presented with its rule expression language. This active temporal rule model contributes to the active function extension of the temporal database, and to establishing the concept of data access events which refer temporal attributes of data in active rules.

  • In this paper, we present an object-based modeling and language for an object-oriented spatio-temporal database system. For handling the structure of spatio-temporal objects and the spatio-temporal operators, we propose the two layers of data modeling: a spatio-temporal object model (STOM) and an spatio_temporal internal description model (STIM). We then propose STOQL, a spatio-temporal object-oriented query language. STOQL provides an integrated mechanism for the graphical display of spatial objects and the retrieval of spatio-temporal and aspatial objects.

  • The time information of sptio-temporal data in synchronization system of a mobile environment can be applied according to time data of various kinds. However, that previous data is synchronized related with progress of synchronization operation is a problem when saving the time data of sptio-temporal data depends on the registration time. In this paper, classifies the time used as time data for synchronization data, defines time data model suitable for synchronization of sptio-temporal data and suggests a synchronization system which uses time data model.

  • Recently, according to the development of ubiquitous computing technology, the efficient management of locations of moving objects is increasing rapidly in various fields. However, MODBMS and DSMS can not support the efficient real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects. Therefore, this paper designed and implemented a spatio-temporal DSMS which can support the efficient real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects. Especially, to develop the spatio-temporal DSMS, we extended STREAM of Stanford University and used GEOS that supports spatial data types and spatial operators of OGC. Finally, this paper proved the efficiency of the spatio-temporal DSMS by applying it to the real-time monitoring field which requires the real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects.

  • As most of metadata have been handled on restricted applications, we need a same metadata in order to represent a same video data. However, these metadata make problems that the same video data should be supported by the same metadata. Therefore, in this paper, we extend the Dublin core elements to support the metadata which can solve the problems. The proposed video data representation is managed by the extended metadata of Doblin core model, by using the information of structure, content and manipulation of video data. The thirteen temporal relationship operators are reduced to the six temporal relationship operators by using a dummy shot temporal transformation relationship. The reduced six temporal relationship operators through excluding reverse temporal relationship not only maintain a consistency of representation between a metadata and a video data, but also transform n-ary temporal relationship to binary relationship on shots. We show that the proposed metadata model can be applied to representing and retrieving on various applications as equivalent as the same structure.
