  • 애경백화점은 백화점 업계 최초로 데이터웨어하우스를 구축하여 이를 기반으로 ACOMS라는 고객 지향적인 마케팅 정보시스템을 도입하였다. 현재로서는 기존고객 유지 및 신규고객 유치를 위해 이용되고 있으나, 이 시스템을 이용한 DB마케팅 전략개발은 앞으로 무한한 가능성을 보이고 있다. ACOMS는 마케팅기획팀에 의해 주도적으로 사용되고 있는데, 이제까지 예측치 못했던 다각적인 판매정보를 입수할 수 있게 됨으로써 더욱 참신한 마케팅 아이디어를 도출해 낼 수 있게 되었다. 이제 이들이 제출하는 마케팅 기획안은 경영진에 의해 신중하게 받아 들여지고 있으며, 따라서 예산이 많이 드는 기획안일지라도 채택되는 빈도가 높아지고 있다. 경영진은 마케팅 기획팀이 제안하는 기획안들이 다각적인 데이터 분석에 의해 수립된 사실을 알기 때문에 그 어느 때보다도 자신감있게 의사결정을 내리고 있다

  • Vehicle driving simulators can provide engineers with benefits on the development and modification of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity given by a motion system and a real-time visual image generation system. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to achieve high fidelity. In this paper the virtual environment including a visual system like a head-mounted display is developed for a vehicle driving simulator system by employing the virtual reality technique. virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Accordint to the object model a three dimensional graphic model is developed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/E. For the real-time image generation the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. Compared with the single loop apprach the proposed methodology yields an acceptable image generation speed 20 frames/sec for the simulator.

XML Based Meta-data Specification for Industrial Speech Databases (산업용 음성 DB를 위한 XML 기반 메타데이터)

  • In this paper, we propose an XML based meta-data specification for industrial speech databases. Building speech databases is very time-consuming and expensive. Recently, by the government supports, huge amount of speech corpus has been collected as speech databases. However, the formats and meta-data for speech databases are different depending on the constructing institutions. In order to advance the reusability and portability of speech databases, a standard representation scheme should be adopted by all speech database construction institutions. ETRI proposed a XML based annotation scheme [51 for speech databases, but the scheme has too simple and flat modeling structure, and may cause duplicated information. In order to overcome such disadvantages in this previous scheme, we first define the speech database more formally and then identify object appearing in speech databases. We then design the data model for speech databases in an object-oriented way. Based on the designed data model, we develop the meta-data specification for industrial speech databases.

  • The $Cu[SO_3(CH_2)_4SO_3$]ㆍ$4H_2O$ compound was synthesized. The three-dimensional structure of $Cu[SO_3(CH_2)_4SO_3$]ㆍ$4H_2O$ compound was determined. The copper atom is bridged by 4 oxygen atoms of 4 water molecules and 2 oxygen atoms of butanedisulfonate. The butyl chain in the plane of four copper atoms is oriented parallel and perpendicular to the one of plane axis, alternatively. Magnetic data indicate that this compound behaves a typical paramagnetic.

  • This study tried to analyzed the relationship between market orientation, localization and performance in order to suggest to a methodology for performance 7hypothesis were constructed for analysis based on previous literature review. The results of empirical analysis shows that market orientation gave significant effect on firm's performance and localization. Localization also positively related to firm's performance. These result explains that firms which try to take superior of performance must build high level of market orientation should be realized and reacted the complicated market situation. such as consumer needs, competitor's action, change of technology and provider's action, etc. For this, management of uncertainty should be required through the high level of information-oriented.

  • Vietnams urban middle class is strongly value oriented in its shopping behavior. They want fairly good quality and service, but they also factor price into their considerations. In terms of retail patronage, they demand convenience, good service, attractive display, and especially want extensive choice. Brands must be present in multiple types of outlet, or fragile brand loyalties can be broken. Mini supermarkets have become an important part of the retail scene in the past decade, and have successfully introduced the supermarket concept to Vietnam. Many consumers are integrating mini supermarkets into their regular shopping, and are willing to pay the higher prices to gain the benefits of such shopping. However, the mini supermarkets do not adequately meet some of the things they expect from supermarkets. Large supermarkets are just entering the market, and are likely to capture much of the current mini supermarket customer base.

Synthesis and Characterization of One-Dimensional GaN Nanostructures Prepared via Halide Vapor-Phase Epitaxy

  • High-quality one-dimensional GaN nanorods and nanowires were synthesized on Ni-coated c-plan sapphire substrate using halide vapor-phase epitaxy (HVPE). Their structure and optical properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and photoluminescence techniques. Full substrate coverage of densely packed, uniform, straight and aligned one-dimensional GaN nanowires with a diameter of 80nm were grown at $700{\sim}900^{\circ}C$. The X-ray diffraction patterns, transmission electron microscopic image, and selective area electron diffraction patterns indicate that the one-dimensional GaN nanostructures are a pure single crystalline and preferentially oriented in the [001] direction. We observed high optical quality of GaN nanowires by photoluminescence analysis.

A Framework for Java-based Web Database Applications (JaVa를 기반으로 한 웹 데이타베이스 응용을 위한 프레임워크)

  • The World-Wide-Web have many advantages as a front-end of database systems. Hence in Internet applications, such as E-Commerce systems, the requirements for Web-based database applications have been increasing. In this work we propose a framework for java-based Web database applications-JaWAF(Java-based Web Application Framework). JaWAF has the 3-tier architecture of Client/Server, and consists of database gateway, application server, and communication and message component. When this framework is applied to the database applications developments, it can provide advantages, such as ease understanding and fast implementations of the Web applications. Thus we can build 3-tier Web-based database application systems with high scalability and distributed processing capability. Database gateway in JaWAF works as a daemon process that connects to the database systems and waits for requests from clients, and supports state-oriented service between clients and database servers. Hence the performance of Web applications could be increasing.

  • In this study, a thermoelastic stress index of (100) oriented single crystalline silicon wafer and a relationship between thermal stress and critical plastic deformation temperatures were simulated. The simulated results for the thermoelastic stress index indicated a maximum value on <110> direction and a minimum on <100>. Then, it could be predicted that silicon wafer is plastically deformable over 1000 K, based on the relationship between the thermal stress derived from the thermoelastic stress index and the critical plastic deformation temperature.

Hybrid Shop Floor Control System for Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)

  • A shop floor can be considered as an important level to develop Computer Integrated Manufacturing system (CIMs). However, a shop floor is a dynamic environment where unexpected events continuously occur, and impose changes to the planned activities. To deal with this problem, a shop floor should adopt an appropriate control system that is responsible for the coordination and control of the manufacturing physical flow and information flow. In this paper, a hybrid control system is described with a shop floor activity methodology called Multi-Layered Task Initiation Diagram (MTD). The architecture of the control model contains three levels: i.e., he shop floor controller (SFC), the intelligent agent controller (IAC) and the equipment controller (EC). The methodology behind the development of the control system is an intelligent multi-agent paradigm that enables the shop floor control system to be an independent, an autonomous, and distributed system, and to achieve an adaptability to change of the manufacturing environment.
