To achieve high performance speed regulation, a robust adaptive speed controller is proposed for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) subject to parameter uncertainties and input saturations in this paper. A nonlinear adaptive control is introduced to compensate the PMSM speed tracking errors due to uncertainties, disturbances and control input saturation constraints. By combining the adaptive control and the nonlinear robust control based on the interconnection and damping assignment (IDA) strategy, a new robust adaptive control is designed for speed regulation of PMSM. Stability and robustness of the closed-loop control system involved with the constrained control inputs rather than unconstrained control inputs are validated. Simulations for PMSM control in the presence of uncertainties and saturations nonlinearities show that the proposed approach is effective to regulate speed, and the average tracking error using the proposed approach is at least 32% smaller than the compared methods.

Guest guidance system based on the compact battery-less information terminal, Aimulet, which has been developed by the authors of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. Conventional Aimulet, which is Aimulet ver.1 or CoBIT, has features of location and direction sensitive information service device without batteries. On the other hand, the Aimulet has two subjects, one is multiplex and demultiplex of some contents, and the other is operation under sunshine. Former subject is of solved by the wavelength multiplex technique using LED emitter with different wavelength and dielectric optical filters. Latter subject is solved by new micro spherical solar cells with a visible-light-eliminating optical filter and a new design of light irradiation. These techniques are applied to the EXPO 2005, Aichi Japan and introduced in public. Aimulet GH is Former technique is applied on Aimulet GH, which is used in Orange Hall of the Global House, scientific museum with a fossil of a frozen mammoth.

Developing textbook evaluation criterion is as important as textbook development in education. Home economics subject has been involved in textbook evaluation since 1995, at which the first home economics textbook was under the national authorization system in South Korea. There has been little research on home economics textbook evaluation criterion even though there were more studies using textbook analysis. The purposes of this study were to explore the reason why subject perspectives were reflected on the textbook evaluation criterion, the relationships between the perspectives presented by national curriculum and technology home economics textbook evaluation criterion, and the future direction for developing textbook evaluation criterion. So this study was related to analyze practical arts(technology home economics) textbook evaluation criterion and the meaning of subject perspectives in textbook evaluation criterion, to drive perspectives consistently presented by the 2007 revised and 2011 revised national curriculum, to analyze the relationships between the perspectives in national curriculum and textbook evaluation criterion, and to provide the future direction for textbook evaluation criterion development. Textbook evaluation criterion is very important because it provides subject perspectives for developing textbook, delivers the core concepts and unique values of our subject, and provides the direction for teacher education. According to the analysis of both national curriculum, the perspectives such as management competency, life competency, practical experience, integrative competency for understanding individual and family, career and life planning, and life problem-solving were presented in this study. Implication for future research would be needed to develop the factors of textbook evaluation criterion based on the perspective presented by national curriculum.

Simple and efficient way of nonlinear analysis considering elasto-plastic large deformation is introduced to calculate the strength of ring-stiffened cylinears subject to combined load of axial compression and lateral pressure. Parametric study gives various collapse modes according to the combination ratio of axial compression and lateral pressure, interaction between axial compression and lateral pressure and imperfection sensitivity of ultimate strength.

This paper considers preventive maintenance policies for a system with two types of units which is subject to deterioration. Two generalized models are investigated ; a preventive maintenance policy based on the cumulative operating time and a policy based on the number of minimal repairs performed. Optimal preventive maintenance policies which minimize the expected average cost per unit time including the earning loss due to the deterioration are discussed and some numerical examples are given.

The present study was conducted to investigate the difference of cortical activation in naming the picture in Korean and English. Experimental design was 2(Korean, English) language condition x 4(no distractor, semantic related distractor, semantic unrelated distrator, corresponding distractor) distractor condition. language condition was between subject factor and distractor condition was within subject factor. The result was that Korean naming condition showed less cortical activation than English naming condition. The activation region was reported in each condition.

Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), a medical thesaurus created by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), is a useful resource for natural language processing (NLP). In this article, the current status of the Japanese version of Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) is reviewed. Online investigation found that Japanese-English dictionaries, which assign MeSH information to applicable terms, but use them for NLP, were found to be difficult to access, due to license restrictions. Here, we investigate an open-source Japanese-English glossary as an alternative method for assigning MeSH IDs to Japanese terms, to obtain preliminary data for NLP proof-of-concept.
