  • This study aimed to identify the correlation between internal/external motive, academic failure (emotion, behavior, task preference), depression (depressive emotion, behavioral disorder, loss of interest, self-degradation and physiological symptom), and academic efficacy of elementary school students with underachievement basic learning, and discover the influential variables on internal/external motive, targeting 56 elementary school students with underachievement in third and fifth grade of 10 elementary schools in G metropolitan city. The research conducted T-test to figure out the difference between the children with underachievement by year and carried out theregression analysis to identify the predictors of self-determination motives. First, there was a difference between the third and fifth graders in terms of the external motives. Second, the influential variables for external motives of children with underachievement included depressive emotion, loss of interest and physiological symptom. Therefore, as more third graders with underachievement study under the external motives compared to the fifth graders, it is concluded necessary to adopt a program to reduce the variables for depression that influence the external motives.

  • Recent development in Japan on jumbo formulation of pesticides for paddy application by hand throw was reviewed. In addition, the diffusion of liquid formulations in water was examined to establish the research strategy for the jumbo formulation. Research on jumbo formulation in Japan has been focused on gas-generating formulations and self-emulsifiable formulations. Although continuous efforts to minimize the problem of pesticide deposit on the treated site have been made for the gas-generating formulations, much work is still needed to establish a generally acceptable formulation method and to commercialize a herbicide formulation. The self-emulsifiable jumbo formulations have recently been investigated. These formulations could simply be processed and showed relatively high biological efficacy. The emulsifiable concentrate was more diffusible than the suspension concentrate in water. The diffusion of the emulsifiable concentrate was not greatly disturbed by floating obstacles. And the diffusion rate was high when the specific grabity was lower than one.

  • Software piracy is widespread throughout the world. It has negative effects on the software industry and the intellectual property market. Despite various deterrent policies, the phenomenon has been getting severe. The current study investigated the antecedents of software piracy attitudes and intention. In order to identify factors and their relationship, a research model for illegal piracy behavior was developed and empirically examined through a path analysis using structural equation model. Also, this study employed a multiple group structural equation model to investigate differences in structural weights across PC software user group and smartphone application user group. It was revealed that perceived benefit, habit, social factor, self-efficacy had positive effect on attitude toward software piracy, whereas perceived risk had a decreasing influence on attitude. Relationships between piracy attitudes and intentions were significant as well. Furthermore, the cross validation between two groups showed the path coefficients of habit to attitude and attitude to intention were significantly different. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

  • Technology acceptance model(TAM) has been widely used to predict the end-user's acceptance of a new IT/IS. We used TAM as a theoretical foundation to explain user's intention to use an Internet shopping mall. The theoretical model is tested with the questionnaires from 308 users of an Internet shopping mall. Results show that several individual characteristics such as Internet skills and self-efficacy have a significant impact on user's perception of usefulness and ease of use. Results also show that both perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness of Internet shopping mall strongly predict intention to use the Internet shopping mall. However, perceived ease of use has no direct influence on intention to use the Internet shopping mall. Personal innovativeness and Internet skills also have a positive effect on perceived enjoyment. Therefore, Internet shopping mall managers have to consider intrinsic motivational factor(enjoyment) as well as extrinsic motivational factor(usefulness). In addition, individual characteristics should be emphasized to form the positive beliefs about using the Internet shopping mall.

  • As the global smartphones market is growing at a brisk pace, their associated mobile applications are becoming increasingly ubiquitous in our daily life. The growth of mobile application business is explosive. Like other digital contents businesses, illegal downloads of copyrighted mobile applications become major obstacle in the future of the industry. In spite of anti-piracy efforts, the phenomenon has been getting worse. It is necessary to change the focus of current deterrence policies and strategies. This study investigates the factors influencing smartphone applications piracy behavior. For better understanding of illegal behavior, a research model of potential determinants for the piracy behavior is developed and empirically tested via path analysis using structural equation modeling. Findings show that social factors, beliefs concerning benefits from piracy, self-efficacy, and habit have significant effects on attitude toward smartphone application piracy. The result also shows perceived risks and facilitating conditions were not significantly related to their attitude. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

  • This study is aimed at proposing a new research model in which application store intention to acceptance influence factors (i.e.. facilitating condition, mobile computing self-efficacy, service compatibility, and system quality) affect TAM (i.e., perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use) positively, leading to application store intention to acceptance eventually. This study developed a research model to explain the use of Apple's App Store, and collected 228 survey responses from the undergraduate students who had experiences with such application store services as game and personal information management application download. To prove the validity of the proposed research model, PLS analysis is applied with valid 228 questionnaires. By employing PLS technique, the measurement reliability and validity of research variables are tested and the path analysis is conducted to do the hypothesis testing. In brief, the finding of this study suggests that application store intention to acceptance influence factors affect TAM positively, and application store intention to acceptance as well.

  • Recently, Internet banking becomes a major trend in the financial marketplace. However, there are few researches to investigate relationship between factors influencing user's intention to use the Internet banking service. Therefore, this paper is aimed at analyzing the Internet banking service user's intention to use empirically. Our research framework is basically based on TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) proposed by Davis(1989). Empirical results using path analysis revealed that experience has a direct relationship with intention to use, while those three factors like perceived risk, self-efficacy, technical support indirectly affect intention to use.

  • Insurance companies are in a fierce race to catch a new customer. In this situation. sales force automation technologies are often used to support customer relationship management strategies. This study sets out a research model predicting SFA(Sales Force Automation) usage through theoretical studies. Survey data were collected from 145 salespeople across 2 firms that had implemented sales force automation tools and hypotheses were tested empirically. Data were analyzed by path-analysis method of AMOS. The major findings of this study are as follows: Computer self-efficacy, user involvement and voluntariness have a statistically significant influence on the positive perceptions of SFA. These perceptions have a statistically significant influence on user satisfaction and usage of SFA. while user satisfaction has a statistically significant influence on SFA usage. This paper concludes with the discussion of these results and their implications for academic researchers and insurance company managers.

  • This study is intended to identify the factors affecting the successful information warehouse (IW) implementation through the technology acceptance model. As the IW has played an important role with the organizations, it has become a strategic management tool. However, because the building of an IWS requires a great amound of financing and a multi-period, managers should consider identifying the variables as a predictor of IWS success. The related research areas, such as TAM , TRA, and innovation diffusion theory, and previous research associated with the EWS success factors are reviewed in this paper. Based on the hypotheses presented , the study will empirically test the relationships between six external variable-user involvement, computer self-efficacy, OLAP characteristics, problem difficulty , user training and top management support-and system utilization via user's perceptions of ease of use, unusefulness. This study semmes to be a first attempt in this research area, and its results will provide general guidclines for IWS project managers to enhancement the like hood of system succes.
