Defense R&D investment is expanding. This shows that major countries are preparing for future warfare by securing high-tech technologies and developing new concept weapons systems. In particular, it is expected to accelerate the development of the technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution in the future, and Korea needs its own ability to develop advanced weapons and medium- and long-term investment strategies to prepare for future warfare. The defense science and technology strategy will be established every five years. The strategy-dependent R&D drive has limitations in replacing the rapidly changing security environment and changes in science and technology. This study proposes an investment efficiency process to proactive incorporate information into R&D strategies with a focus on implementing policies and changing security threats, while maintaining continuity in which strategic and focused areas are linked to core technology development. The process can quickly reflect the needs of technological change, the security environment and defense policy. The process can be used to efficiently allocate defense R&D budgets and establish strategic investment directions.
Nowadays, technological differences between companies have decreased and products launched show more resemblance to each other. As an alternative plan companies started developing brands. The excellence in quality of a product from a company could be easily copied, but the formless value, brand, cannot be imitated easily. More importantly, in the globally competing generation the brand provides distinctiveness and gives a solution to the relationship between consumers. Also the design image takes a big part in a company's competitiveness. The design image that represents the company reflects the brand, and it reflects the image and the philosophy of the company. And the images of each product influence the brand. Also an effective delivery of a product image would give a synergistic effect on the brand. A company could build this design identity to elevate the brand. Therefore, the identity of design image reflects the brand. Therefore a study on the area of the absence and misled identity of design image is important. This study is fixed on the idea of, development of brand to increase competitiveness, and the affiliation of design image with the identity of the brand. This study, on the basis of preceding research and theoretical background, aims to find the design identity area focusing on the product design image of the product purchased by the consumer. Firstly, we need to examine the affinity of the product image from the consumer, and analyse the direction of images to offer a solution that could advance the design identity strategy.
Currently, many nations in the world make a strong effort to exploit the new and renewable energy. Tidal energy is the constant and regular power sources with higher and more stable quality compared to other renewable sources. The present paper reports the status of tidal energy analyzing its latest technology and development. In addition, a feasibility study on two types of tidal power plant(TPP) systems is conducted based on many assumptions, conditions and data involved in the Korea environment. The Sihwa and Uldolmok TPP are considered as the reference of tidal barrage(TB) and tidal in stream energy conversion(TISEC) type, respectively. While TB technology is currently mature and reliable, there still remain many environmental issues. Whereas, TISEC is recently received more attention due to its environmental friendly aspect. Therefore, the TISEC is believed to be very promising technology as the TPP. The unit electricity generation cost of Sihwa TPP is approximately 67.3 KRW/kWh. However, considering additional cost of Sihwa lake construction, it increases to 254 KRW/kWh. In Uldolmok, the unit electricity generation cost is calculated to be about 400 KRW/kWh, which is even higher than that of Sihwa TPP. This is ascribed to high cost of TISEC device and construction cost due to its technological infancy as well as relatively small power capacity. Nevertheless, the TISEC technology would be substantially developed in the future due to its many advantageous features.
Similar to the other cultural contents, the character industry is based on the media which acts as the technological background. In fact, the character industry is the process of that a created character accesses to the consumers via media, builds its value and becomes licensed as a brand in the market. Therefore, it is crucial to select the most effective media for the consistence of a character in the market, as well as for construction of a higher brand quality of the character. Today, "Webtoon" might be considered as one of the marketing means which utilizes the Internet media for raising the character as a brand. Webtoon has apparent strength because it can be produced in shorter period and with less expense than through other media. Furthermore, Webtoon can be simply featured by the easiness of two-way communication and transference to another media through it. For these reasons, and according to the result of analyzing some Korean Webtoons, it seems obvious that the most effective media in character marketing is the Internet. In addition to the Internet, the strategic development in the media-mix is also important for establishing a brand of a character. However, the effective media-mix is available only when the character's external identity meets with the trait of its media. For the purpose of learning how the media-mix works when a character reaches for the consumers, a character "Hamataeng" was born and used in the experiment. This study will explain the marketing process through the use of own-created Webtoon and other contents, and suggest the ways to build a brand of a character. In addition, it is also indicated that a media-mixing strategy for transformation and expansion of the character to other media.

As the paradigm shifts in the era of accelerated technological development and technology convergence, the defense sector is pursuing national defense research and development through selection and concentration, as well as the expansion of investments to develop defense science and technology to the highest possible level. In addition to investing heavily in cutting-edge weapons and core technologies that are consistent with the future, the defense sector is also developing investment strategies within a limited budget. In the private sector, the PD system has been introduced in order to maximize the performance of R&D policy and to improve the professionalism and responsibility of planning & management. In accordance with this trend, in the field of defense, the PD system of defense technology with specialization is being promoted, in order to strengthen the task planning capacity and to promote the utilization of private technology. Considering the need for coherent technical support for the core technology developed by R&D, the improvement of open technology planning systems and expansion of inter-civil & technical linkage, the use of the PD system in the defense field is indispensable. In this study, we review similar cases abroad and at home to examine the introduction and management of the PD system for defense technology. This study is based on the current state of the defense technology PD system that is being pursued.
The lactobacilli associated with a fermented goat milk product from Tajikistan were isolated to characterize their technological properties and antibiotic resistances in order to assess their suitability for development as starter cultures. In this study, twenty three strains were identified by 16S rRNA sequencing as typical dairy-associated lactic acid bacterial strains, i.e. L. plantarum, L. pentosus, L. delbrueckii, L. helveticus and L. paracasei. These strains were generally susceptible to most antibiotics tested in this study and this allowed a selection of strains as safe starters. The draft genomes of four representative strains were sequenced and the number of contigs of the four assembled genomes ranged from 51 to 245 and the genome sizes ranged from 1.75 to 3.24 Mbp. These representative strains showed differences in their growth behavior and pH-reducing abilities in in vitro studies. The co-inoculation of these Lactobacillus spp. strains together with a yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus MBT-5698, or together with the yeast and an additional Streptococcus thermophilus MBT-2, led to a pH reduction to 3.4 after 48 h. Only in the case of fermentation inoculated with the co-culture, the viscosity of the milk increased noticeably. In contrast, fermentations with single strains did not lead to gelation of the milk or to a decrease in the pH after 24h. The results of this study provide a comprehensive understanding of the predominant lactobacilli related to Tajikistani fermented milk products.
Internet was first designed only for sending data, but as the time passed, internet started to evolve into a broadband multi-media web that is capable of transmitting sound, video, high-capacity data and more due to the demands of internet users and the rapid changing internet-communication technology. Domestically, in January, 2000 Saerom C&T, launched a free VoIP, but due to limited ways of conversation(PC to PC) and absence of a revenue model, and bad speech quality, it had hit it's growth limit. This research studied VoIP based on technological enhancement in super-speed internet. According to IDC, domestic internet market's size was 80,800 million in 2008, and it formed a percentage of 12.5% out of the whole sound-communication market. in case of VoIP, it is able to maximize it's profit by connecting cable and wireless network, also it has a chance of becoming firm-concentrated monopoly market by fusing with IPTV. Considering the fact that our country is insignificant in MVNO revitalization, regulating organizations will play a significant roll on regulating profit between large and small businesses. Further research should be done to give VoIP a secure footing to prosper and become popularized.
This study focused on SNS use of Chinese students who are studying in Korea. Communication media like SNS is strongly related with socialization of foreigners. Thus, it is expected to verify relationship between current SNS use tendency of Chinese students and their settlement in Korea based on analysis on the factor influencing SNS use of Chines students. For the study on the factor influencing to SNS use of Chinese students in Korea TAM model was used as a research frame. Based on TAM theory technological attribute, individual attribute and social attribute were taken out as independent variables. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are applied as mediator variables. In research conclusion, some hypotheses are adopted the same as existing theory, but some hypotheses for example service quality and individual attribute are rejected as variables which influence positively to mediator variable perceived easy of use. For the next research more various variables and nationwide sampling will be needed. Based on this research it is expected to be analysed correlation between foreigners settlement in Korea and communication media like SNS.
In the medical environment today, new technology has compelled new work paradigm, as it has been other areas of our lives. However it is very difficult to see the changes that have been taken place, even though new computer technology has changed the medical industry so rapidly. In this study, new concept of human computer interaction focusing on tangible interaction for anaesthetic procedure in an operating theatre has been explored with a 5 years technological and social perspective. This project is not intended to redesign the equipment itself but to focus on enhanced human computer interaction concepts. The exper iment shows that how new technology affects anaesthetic nurses' work in an operating theatre in the near future to improve quality of the medical service by helping to increase work efficiency and enhance patient satisfaction. As a result of the study, the KEY brings new visions to the anaesthetic nurses via various types of interaction. Thanks to the KEY, the nurse is really free from the machines so that he can keep attention to patient most of the time during the whole operation. The discussion in this study is still preliminary, and further elaboration is strongly needed. It might be certain that additional further studies, such as high-fidelity prototyping and logistical user testing, should be followed not only to refine and communicate the ideas to audiences, but as a means of stimulating and generating further ideas.

Background: TlBr is of considerable technological importance for radiation detection applications where detecting high-energy photons such as X-rays and ${\gamma}$-rays are of prime importance. However, there were few reports on investigating optical properties of TlBr itself for deeper understandings of this material and for making better radiation detection devices. Thus, in this paper, we report on the optical characterizations of TlBr single crystals. Spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) and photoluminescence (PL) measurements at RT were performed for this work. Materials and Methods: A 2-inch TlBr single crystalline ingot was grown by using the vertical Bridgman furnace. SE measurements were performed at RT within the photon energy range from 1.1 to 6.5 eV. PL measurements were performed at RT by using a home-made PL system equipped with a 266 nm-laser and a spectrometer. Results and Discussion: Dielectric responses from SE analysis were shown to be slightly different among the different samples possibly due to the different structural/optical properties. Also from the PL measurements, it was observed that the peak intensities of the middle samples were significantly higher than those of the other two samples. With the given values for permittivity of free space (${\varepsilon}_0=8.854{\times}10^{-12}F{\cdot}m^{-1}$), thickness (d = 1 mm), and area ($A=10{\times}10mm^2$) of the TlBr sample, capacitances of TlBr were 6.9 pF (at $h{\nu}=3eV$) and 4.4 pF (at $h{\nu}=6eV$), respectively. Conclusion: SE and PL measurement and analysis were performed to characterize TlBr samples from the optical perspective. It was observed that dielectric responses of different TlBr samples were slightly different due to the different material properties. PL measurements showed that the middle sample exhibited much stronger PL emission peaks due to the better material quality. From the SE analysis, optical, dielectric constants were extracted, and calculated capacitances were in the few pF range.
