Aluminum-based composites reinforced with various amounts of $\alpha-Si_3N_4$ were produced by powder metallurgy (P/M). The machinability properties of $MMC_s$ were determined by means of cutting forces and surface roughness. Machining tests were carried out by using PCD and K10 tools. Increasing of $Si_3N_4$ volume fraction in the matrix resulted in a decrease of the surface roughness and turning forces. PCD cutting tools showed better cutting performance than K10 tools.

A circular plate with constant thickness, finite radius and stiff edge lying on an elastic halfspace is considered. The half-space consists of a soft functionally graded (FGM) layer with arbitrary varying elastic properties and a homogeneous elastic substrate. The plate bends under the action of arbitrary axisymmetric distributed load and response from the elastic half-space. A semi-analytical solution for the problem effective in whole range of geometric (relative layer thickness) and mechanical (elastic properties of coating and substrate, stiffness of the plate) properties is constructed using the bilateral asymptotic method (Aizikovich et al. 2009). Approximated analytical expressions for the contact stresses and deflections of the plate are provided. Numerical results showing the qualitative dependence of the solution from the initial parameters of the problem are obtained with high precision.

Contact interaction of a beam (flexible element) with an elastic half-plane is considered, when a soft inhomogeneous (functionally graded) interlayer is present between them. The beam is bent under the action of a distributed load applied to the surface and a reaction of the elastic interlayer and the half-space. Solution of the contact problem is obtained for different values of thickness and parameters of inhomogeneity of the layer. The interlayer is assumed to be significantly softer than the underlying half-plane; case of 100 times difference in Young's moduli is considered as an example. The influence of the interlayer thickness and gradient of elastic properties on the distribution of the contact stresses under the beam is studied.

This study identified the problems of the current technical education for beginner technical personnel engaged in CM companies, and suggested improvement plans for the problems. The item 'difficulty in improving practical practical skills' appeared the highest, and responses to the items 'insufficient educational programs to improve individual competency' and 'education contents do not keep pace with technological development or the trend of the times' As for improvement measures, 'expanding educational programs to strengthen practical skills' was the highest, followed by responses to 'expansion and systematization of online education' and 'diversification and segmentation of educational contents of each educational institution' appeared high.

In Nepal, unemployment and underemployment rate is very high among the youth between 15-24 ages. Generally people tend to discourage acquisition of skills for a career. Access to skill training is limited, especially for the poor, women, and disadvantaged, and the quality of skills training is variable and often not linked to market needs. Strengthening the technical education and vocational training (TEVT) sector to deliver more relevant and market oriented training is essential. To improve the country's pool of technical skilled manpower and unemployment problem, the government has attempted various programs in the last two decades to institutionalize technical education and vocational training. These had initially mixed results mainly due to poor organization and management of the TEVT sector, lack of proper linkage between the training programs and the needs of the labor market, lack of proper equipment and instructional materials and inadequately trained instructors. Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) as a leading organization in TEVT sector of Nepal should focus on community-based vocational trainings for the purpose of reducing poverty in grassroots level addressing excluded and marginalized groups. It is a big challenge as well as opportunity for CTEVT and TEVT professionals.

This case study was carried out for the purpose of surveying the awareness of safety and safety education among students in a technical high school, in order to provide the basic data for the effective education of technical high school students' safety management consciousness. The study was carried out using a questionnaire survey for which the respondents were 455 students. The results of the questionnaire were subjected to statistical processing, such as frequency analysis using SPSS for Windows version 19.0. The reliability of the questionnaire in this study is Cronbach' = 0.871~0.882. According to the survey results, the students think that the contents of the school safety education would not be of interest to them and that safety education in school would help their school life, but not be useful for their daily life.

As the IT technology evolves, virtual reality technology has been developed so fast. Studies of virtual reality technology in various fields have been conducted. There are lots of applications of virtual reality such as education, military, medical, arts, entertainment, and so on. In this research, we applied virtual reality technology to the technical education, and developed various kinds of educational contents using virtual reality. We classified virtual contents into several categories and analyzed the properties and effects, and verified the educational effects of virtual training through the case analysis.

Eyes to the Future (ETF) is a year-long, multi-age mentoring program that supports middle-school girls as they make the transition to high school and make informed choices about the opportunities available to them in high school and beyond, particularly in the field of science and technology. In this study, we explore the tension between fidelity and adaptiveness of an educational innovation by examining how teachers in several different schools used a common set of materials and technology to create "native" implementations of an innovative after-school program, adapted to their local setting. First, we found that the implementation of the program varied across the nine clubs. For example, some clubs put a heavy emphasis on science while others emphasized technology. Then, we identified four different profiles of the variations in implementation based on how close the implementation was to the original program and how much clubs were able to customize the implementation to meet their needs and interests. The results showed that some clubs could be regarded as successful because they were faithful to the original program and others were successful because they could adapt the program for their own context. This implies that the measure for success can be and should be multi dimensional.

This paper is to analyze security and technical problem of NEIS and suggest an improving methods about the effective system. Therefore questionnaire was performed in the five items with security as well as technical problem of NEIS to primary and secondary school teachers. The result of questionnaire analysis on each item is that they think of NEIS as the essential system for the age of information, despite problems such as the invasion of human right and security as well as reveal of personal data.
