  • A firing test of the 75 tonf-class liquid rocket engine to be used as the first and second stage engines of the KSLV-II was carried out at the rocket engine test facility(RETF). Since this engine uses liquid oxygen as the oxidizer, which is a cryogenic fluid, it is essential that the chill down of the supply pipe line and engine proceed for the firing test; thus, the given inlet requirements must be met. Moreover, it is important to understand the chill down characteristics of the facility and the engine and the amount of liquid oxygen consumed in the chill down process for efficient test operation in the future. In this paper, chill down characteristics of the supply pipe and the engine were evaluated through the investigation of the chill down process of the 75 tonf-class liquid rocket engine at each stage before and after run tank pressurization. In addition, the amount of liquid oxygen consumed was also evaluated.

  • The problems current robotic technology education class has are the students with different basic background knowledge levels and the class based on the instructional teaching method. This study shows the implementation of the student teams achievement divisions (STAD) learning model into an introductory robotic technology education class to resolve the problems in the current robotic technology class. The STAD learning model focuses on the ability of each team member with different knowledge levels and make team members help each other through class activities such as assignments and a project. All members get rewarded by their performance output as a team in a course grade. The outputs of STAD learning models were measured by paired sample t-test as pre-test and post-test in terms of students's transition on basic knowledge for robotic technology, students' attitudinal transition on teaching robotic technology class, and students' competencies and self-efficacy on related subject areas. The study participants were 22 pre-service technology teachers at a university. The results show that all four measured areas were improved significantly, compared to pre-test with respect to the means scores of each measurement area. The STAD learning model could be an alternate for the current robotic technology class to deliver the better class outcomes for students under the specific circumstances.

  • Background: With the emergent transition of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for online/offline blended learning that can effectively be utilized in a team-based learning (TBL) course has emerged. Methods: We used the online metaverse platforms, Gather and Zoom, along with face-to-face teaching methods in a team-based Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) course and examined students' learning satisfaction and achievement, as well as their preferences to the learning platforms. A survey questionnaire was distributed to the students after the IPPE course completion. All data were analyzed using Excel and SPSS. Results: Students had high levels of course satisfaction (4.61±0.57 out of 5) and achievement of course learning objectives (4.49±0.70 out of 5), and these were positively correlated with self-directed learning ability. While students believed that the face-to-face platform was the most effective method for many of the class activities, they responded that Gather was the most effective platform for team presentations. The majority of students (64.3%) indicated that blended learning was the most preferred method for a TBL course. Conclusion: Students in a blended TBL IPPE course had high satisfaction and achievements with the use of various online/offline platforms, and indicated that blended learning was the most preferred learning method. In the post-COVID-19 era, it is important to utilize the blended learning approach in a TBL setting that effectively applies online/offline platforms according to the learning contents and activities to maximize students' learning satisfaction and achievement.
