방문 간호사의 방문 보건 활동 소요시간 분석 (Analysis of Time Taken for Visiting Nursing Activities by Visiting Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyse time taken for visiting nursing activities by visiting nurses in health centers. Method: A questionnaire was developed by a research team for the technological support of visiting nursing activities and visiting nurses. A total of 481 questionnaires were recovered by five visiting nurses from May to October 2003. Result: A visiting nurse's total length of time for visiting activities was 532.2 minutes per day and the number of households a visiting nurse visits a day was 4.5. A visiting nurse spent 133.3 minutes for actual nursing services and 119.1 minutes for travelling. Time for actual nursing activities was more than half of the total working hours. Time for travelling was 42.9 minutes on the average when using public transportation means and 25.6 minutes when using a car. Conclusion: The results of this study is expected to be used as basic data in establishing plans for the adequate supply of visiting nurses based on demands for visiting nursing services.

팀 학습 환경에서 개인의 심리적 임파워먼트가 과제성취도에 미치는 영향: 협력적 자기조절의 매개효과 (Effects of psychological empowerment on achievement in team based learning: Mediating effect of co-regulation)

  • 본 연구는 간호 대학생을 대상으로 팀 학습 환경에서 개인의 심리적 임파워먼트가 과제성취도에 미치는 영향과 협력적 자기조절의 매개효과를 확인하기 위한 연구이다. 연구 대상자는 G광역시 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 243명의 간호대학생이었으며, 2017년 5월 23일부터 5월 30일까지 자료를 수집하였다. 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation, Multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 심리적 임파워먼트는 협력적 자기조절과 과제성취도, 협력적 자기조절은 과제성취도와 양의 상관관계가 있었다. 과제성취도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 협력적 자기조절, 심리적 임파워먼트, 협력과 조정 향상, 학년으로 나타났으며, 설명력은 57.2%이었다. 심리적 임파워먼트와 과제성 취도간의 관계에서 협력적 자기조절의 매개효과를 검정한 결과 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 과제성 취도를 높이기 위한 간호교육 프로그램을 개발하는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하였으며, 추후 과제성취도와 관련된 다양한 변수를 포함한 반복연구가 필요하다 하겠다.

뇌질환아 어머니의 스트레스와 대처방법 (A Study on Stress and Coping Methods of Mothers of Children with Brain Disease)

  • This study was done to investigate stress and coping methods of mothers with brain disease children. The subjects for this study were obtained by taking a sample of mothers with brain disease children hospitalized in neurosurgery ward of K medical center in Seoul from Nov. 20, 1992 to Mar. 10, 1993. The collected date were analized by S.P.S.S. program(frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation). The results of the study were as follow. 1. The mean of the degree of mothers' stress was 3.681. Of the stress categories, illness treatment (4.216) was highest, and the next were in order of ill-ness status and prognosis(4.154) , family relation-ships and personal roles(3.202), interpersonal relationships(2.916). 2. The mean of the degree of mothers' coping method was 2.930. Of the coping method categories, communication with medical team or parents in similar situations(3.332) was highest, and the next were in or-der of family cooperation and optimistic thought about the situation(3.241), reforcement of self esteem and maintenance of psychological stability(2.538). 3. There was not seen a stastically significant correlation between stress factors and coping methods of mothers. But with categories, the higher the stress to illness status and prognosis was, the hight coping methods' degree of communication with medical team or parents in similar situations was shown a positive correlation, if not high (r=.2776, P=.046) . And the higher the stress to illness treatment was, the higher coping methods' degree of communication with medical team or parents in simial situations was shown a positive correlation, if not high (r=.2727, P=.049). 4. With the difference of stress according to mothers' general characteristics, religion and monthly income shew a statically significant difference. The mothers' group who have a religion shew the higher degree of stress(t=-3.17, P=.003), The group who get the most income shew highest degree of stress (F=.4693, P=.0156). With the difference of coping according to mothers' general characteristics, the most support-ing person, satisfaction with husbands and mothers' own health status shew a statistically significant difference. The group who get the most support from parents-in-law(F=3.7508, P=.013), the group who are much satisfied with husband(F=3.589, P=.016), and the group whose health status are good(F=3.3675, P=.046), shew the highest coping degree. 5. There were no significant difference in degree of stress and coping by children's characteristics The significance of the study will be concluded as follows. 1. Investigating the stress factors, which mothers are perceiving, it will be utilized as the basic materials of nursing plan so as to reduce the stress of mothers. 2. In searching for the ways of mothers' more helpful coping methods, it shows the necessity of the active nursing intervention for the mothers in the process of coping with their stress. That is, the nurse should serve the earnest nursing as counselor, supporter, educator, and information - provider. 3. Recogning mothers as well as children with brain disease as a client, the nurse will be able to help the mother, who is taking care of the children, cope with the stress situation well, and to make a contribution to the recovery, rehabilitation, and health of the children and to the enhancement of the family' health.

노인의 자아통합감 개념 분석 (The Concept Analysis of Ego-integrity in the Elderly)

  • Purpose: Ego-integrity in Erikson's stage theory is used frequently among health team members related to the care of the elderly and has specific meanings within the context of quality of life in later life. However, the concept of ego-integrity in the elderly has not been well articulated in the literature. This study was conducted clarify and conceptualize the phenomena of ego-integrity in the elderly. Method: A Hybrid Model of concept development was applied to develop a concept of ego-integrity, which included a field study carried out in Seoul, South Korea using in-depth interviews with old adults who were admitted as a right person for research subject according to attributes of ego-integrity analysed in the theoretical phase. Results: The concept of ego-integrity emerged as a complex phenomenon having meanings in several different dimensions which encompassed several attributes. Conclusions: Ego-integrity is a concept having needs that should be treated in a specific way and it is possible to enrich the meaning and methods to manage ego-integrity in nursing interventions for promoting quality of life so that its application may have effects that have positive impacts on the elderly's well being.

보건관리대행 산업간호사의 업무수행 실태분석 (Situation Analysis of Work Performance on the Occupational Health Nursing Services Provided in Small Scale Enterprises of Korea)

  • Necessity for the guidebook of occupational health nursing practice has been perceived by our OH research members since the health management of small scale enterprises(SSE) was controlled by law. Mean-while, developing the OH manual, our team found that the work situation of occupational health nursing(OHN) services should be prior to the construction of the OHN manual. This procedure was regarded as helpful for producing the OH manual which is fitting to the Korean nursing circumstances. Thus, this study was planned and carried out. The study aimed to find out current situation of work performance on occupational health nursing practice perceived by nurses working for health management of SSE. Questionnaire was distributed to the OH nurses working in the 55 group occupational health service(GOHS) agencies throughout the Korea from January to March in 1997. Ninety-seven nurses of the 31 GOHS agencies responded. Descriptive statistics was used in the SAS programme. Four nurses participated to select nursing area investigated in the study. Those area were 'document', 'job orientation', 'OH reference', 'nursing theory', 'group health education', 'health examination', 'work dilemma', 'approach attitude', 'workplace visit', 'health promotion' and 'communication'. Results can be summarized as follow : Types of document were mentioned diversely depending on the GOHS agencies. Job orientation was seen to be performed by nurses in 56% among the 75.3% nurses responded. Sixty five percents of nurses agreed to apply nursing theories into the OH with lack of knowledge on them. Health screening and health education were responded as commonly provided nursing activities with various nursing obstacles as well as indicated in the area of 'work dilemma', 'approach attitude', 'workplace visit', 'health promotion'.

외국인 환자 간호조직 실태 조사 (A Survey on Nursing Organizational Service for Foreign Patients in Tertiary Hospitals)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of organizational nursing service for foreign patients in tertiary hospitals in order to build up a database for nursing care policy development for foreign patients. Methods: The subjects of this study were nursing managers or department managers of international care center in 36 tertiary hospitals nationwide. Questionnaires were consisted of the items measuring the details of and evaluations for nursing care for foreign patients within the given organizations and any organizational support for culturally competent care. The data from 35 hospitals out of 36 were analyzed finally. Results: The organizational nursing service for foreign patients was rated 6.49 points out of 10. Organizational support for culturally competent care was 2.61 points out of 4. Challenges to improving nursing care for foreign patients were listed such as developing interpreter services and international care units without accompanying by a family member, improving nursing staffs' attitudes and behaviors for providing culturally competent care, and preparing various medical documents using multiple languages. Conclusion: In order to improve nursing care for foreign patients in tertiary hospitals, we need to be more aware of cultural knowledge and sensitivity toward the care needs of foreign patients.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop syllabuses of basic nursing science subjects (Structure and Function of Human Body, Pathogenic Microbiology, Pathophysiology, and Mechanisms and Effects of Drug) based on learning outcomes. Methods: We developed a 3-phase plan to develop the syllabuses. In the first phase, The Korean Society of Biological Nursing Science (KSBNS) held a workshop in May, 2013 in which professors who are in charge of basic nursing science subjects shared opinions about learning outcomes. As a result, initial prototype syllabuses came out. In the second phase, revised syllabuses based on learning outcomes were presented and discussed in the conference held by KSBNS in November, 2013. In the last phase, a research team who taught basic nursing science subjects finalized the syllabuses during the meetings. Results: Syllabuses of 4 basic nursing science subjects were developed. Conclusion: These syllabuses of 4 subjects need to be disseminated throughout nursing colleges. Further revision needs to be made according to the circumstances and context of each school.

노년기 성에 대한 동.서 간호학적 고찰 (Literature View of East-west Nursing on Elderly Sexuality)

  • Today, elderly population have tendency to increasing much fast in the world. As aging. elderly people have been changing more in physical, psychological, mental and there is spring to more concerns of health management on old period. But particularly sexuality have been little viewed in health management of elderly people. This is considered that there is bring on complex issues of mental-social, social. cultural, psychological, physical situation with negligence of sexuality on elderly-selves. This research was attempted to provide as basic data for east-west nursing intervention of elderly sexuality through literature view about east-west nursing view and management on elderly sexuality that we attend yet. Conclusively, oriental nursing management, for sexual management of elderly people, is ; 1. Decrease coitus times as physical conditions. 2. If sexual need is present, it don't inhibit painfully. 3. Somebody who have hepatitis, diabetes, heart disease, poor constitution avoids coitus. And western nursing management, for sexual management of elderly people, is ; 1. There is approaching with psychological, pharmacological, technical, surgical area in healthy sexual rehabilitation by Smith(1999). 2. Psychological-Social approaching method by Hooyman & Kiyalk(1996) can be provided for elderly sexuality. As this, concrete nursing intervention can be applied and additional counsel is needed with professional medical-nursing team. Through there understand and percept importance and need of elderly sexuality management on results of literature view, as above, concrete east-west nursing intervention of elderly sexuality will be researched. And research which confirm the meaning, How elderly people, themselves have been perceived, will be processed. This will have more contribution on elderly-oriented nursing intervention without false viewing of elderly sexuality.

간호요구 정도에 기초한 한국형 환자분류도구(KPCS)의 개발 (Development of KPCS(Korean Patient Classification System for Nurses) Based on Nursing Needs)

  • Purpose: This study was to develop a factor-type patient classification system for general nursing unit based on nursing needs (KPCS; Korean patient classification system for nurses). Method: We reviewed workload management system for nurses(WMSN) of Walter Reed Medical Center, Korean patient classification system for ICU, and nursing activities in nursing records and developed the first version of KPCS. The final version KPCS was evaluated via validity and reliability verifications based on panel discussions and data from 800 patient classifications. Content validity was performed by Delphi method and concurrent validity was verified by the correlation of two tools (r=.71). Construct validity was also tested by medical department (p<.001), patient type (p<.001), and nurse intuition (p<.001). These verifications were performed from April to October, 2008. Results: The KPCS has 75 items in classifying 50 nursing activities, and categorized into 12 different nursing area (measuring vital sign, monitoring, respiratory treatment, hygiene, diet, excretion, movement, examination, medication, treatment, special treatment, and education/emotional support). Conclusion: The findings of the study showed sound reliability and validity of KPCS based on nursing needs. Further study is mandated to refine the system and to develop index score to estimate the necessary number of nurses for adequate care.

병원조직에 팀제 도입이 팀직무만족과 팀조직 몰입에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of a Team System's Introduction to Hospital Organization, Regarding Job Satisfaction and Organization Commitment)

  • The introduction of a team system to any organization is usually to improve that organizations dynamics, by increasing the proper adaptation to rapidly changing environments, by reducing approval procedures, and by promoting power authorization. In this regard, this study was carried out in an attempt to determine (1) whether or not the introduction of a team system can be as effective in hospital organizations as it has been in business organizations, and (2) what behavior factors influence such effectiveness. For the current study, questionnaires were distributed to the employees of a university hospital in Pusan. Four hundred eighty three of them(94.7%) were retrieved and analyzed through statistical processes. The three types of variables that were found to influence team effectiveness were: (1) independent variables of team organization characteristics, such as communication, organizational atmosphere, leadership and team knowledge, (2) intervening variables of team organization characteristics. such as job autonomy, technological variety, task subjectivity, task feedback and task importance, and(3) the dependent variables of team level effectiveness, such as job satisfaction and commitment to team organization. The gathered data were processed by using the 6.12 version of the statistical program SAS(Statistical Analysis System), and the reliance coefficient of those measured variables was then evaluated as an average of 0.78. The influence of team level effectiveness was analyzed by using multiple regression analysis. These differences in effectiveness were then analyzed on the basis of related mean values, while the differences among demo-sociological characteristics were analyzed by using the dispersion analysis(ANOVA) and the t-test. The results of the study can be summarized by the following. First, regarding the relationship between team organization characteristics and team level effectiveness, all of the factors including communication, organizational atmosphere, leadership and team knowledge were found to have a significant influence on effectiveness. Second, the factors of team job characteristics, such as technological variety, task importance and job autonomy, had significant effects on job satisfaction and organizational commitment among the teams members. Team level effectiveness was generally high, while team job satisfaction was higher the teams organizational commitment. Third, regarding the demo-sociological characteristics, team level effectiveness was found to be higher among those who were older, who had more job experience, and who had a higher position. Comparing the differences among job types, the effectiveness was relatively higher in the fields of nursing and administration/management then in other fields. Further study should be done towards the setting of variables for characteristics of hospital organization, developing suitable methods of measurement, and researching individual level effectiveness.
