항암화학요법 환자의 가정간호 이용 양상과 간호 만족도 (Home Care Services Utilization and Satisfaction for Clients with Cancer)

  • This study was to identify the utilization of home care service and home care nursing satisfaction for clients with cancer who had completed secondary and tertiary chemotherapy session. Raw data was collected by reviewing charts and questionnaire of 23 clients with cancer between September, 2002 and November 2002 at an university hospital located in Seoul. Korea. The result are as follows: 1. Characteristics in the use of home care: After applying for home care service, patients were visiting an average of 1.88 days later. The major purpose of using home care service was to help recovery after hospitalization or to maintain present health. The average period for home care service was 14.6 days, with 4 visits over this period, for 35.78 minutes per visit. 2. Content of home care service: A total of 47 items of service were provided - basic nursing care, education and counseling, and therapeutic nursing care. On every visit, an average of 19 items of home care service were provided, and the majority (7 items) were therapeutic nursing care. 3. Satisfaction with home care services: Satisfaction was very high, an average of 3.88 on a scale of 4 points. Both patients and families expressed high satisfaction with all sub-domains of nursing care: guidance by the home care nurses, knowledge, skill, attitude, interpersonal relationships, emotional support, and accessibility. In conclusion, home care served basic nursing care, teaching and counseling, and therapeutic nursing to clients with cancer going through secondary or tertiary chemotherapy. Therefore they changed knowledge and attitude to disease and treatment which were difficult to change.

체육교육에 대한 대학생들의 융합적 인식 연구 (The Study on the Convergence Perception of College Students for the Physical Education.)

  • 본 연구는 체육교육에 대한 대학생들의 융합적 인식을 탐색하여 체육교육에 대한 반성적 자료를 얻는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 인간의 주관적 인식을 탐색할 수 있는 방법인 Q방법론을 활용하였다. 연구대상은 대학생 30명으로 하였다. 연구결과 4개의 유형이 탐색되었다. 첫째, '전문성 강조형'으로 정의한 유형 1은 체육수업에서 보다 전문적인 종목별 운동기능과 기본 체육이론의 중요성을 강조하였다. 둘째, '교수방법 강조형'으로 정의한 유형 2는 학생들의 적극적인 참여를 유도하기 위해 효율적인 교수방법의 중요성을 강조하였다. 셋째, '필수과목 요구형'으로 정의한 유형 3은 체육교육의 필수과목요구와 체육수업시수의 증대 등을 강조하였다. 넷째, '생활체육 강조형'으로 정의한 유형 4는 체육교육은 원활한 사회생활을 위한 체력증대 및 사회성 함양 그리고 생활체육과 연계성을 강조하였다. 본 연구결과는 체육교육에 대한 반성적 자료를 제공함으로서 효과적인 체육교육계획을 수립하는데 기여할 것이다.

초등학교 저학년생을 위한 이물질에 의한 완전기도폐쇄 응급처치 교육용 일러스트레이션 개발 (Development of an Educational Illustration on a Complete Airway Obstruction Maneuver for Elementary School Students Grade 1 through 3)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a realistic illustration using watercolors on a complete airway obstruction maneuver that is at an appropriate level for elementary school students from the first grade through the third. The illustration is a series of cuts divided into specific frames designed to illustrate the method to be followed in an action or a practical skill that would otherwise be too difficult to explain in written form. Methods: The fundamental theory of the Jeong In-Sung's instruction learning program based on the WEB to construct an appropriate site of instruction learning was used after modification. In this study analysis, design, and production stages were realized. Results: 1. In Stage 1, impressions of the illustration, in sketch form, were received. In Stage 2, results of impressions from a modified illustration were received. After an appropriate level of understanding and accuracy in the practical steps for emergency maneuvers were achieved the illustrations entering Stage 3 and color was added to the sketches. 2. In Stage 3, the illustration was completed by adding color to the contents for the practical steps in the complete airway obstruction maneuver. 3. For composition evaluation, a result of 100% appropriateness was obtained for both items of harmony between illustration and subject being studied and sufficiency in quantity of illustrations. Also high results for appropriateness in items such as clarity, creating interest, illustration size, and tone preference as related to content were achieved and thus completed the production stages. Conclusion: The Complete Airway Obstruction Maneuver Illustration developed specifically for the characteristics and cognitive level of elementary school students grade 1 through grade 3 was appropriate for teaching and learning. There is a need for future research on developed illustrations aimed at elementary school students grade 1 through 3 on the complete airway obstruction maneuver. There is also a need for continued effort in developing certified evaluating tools that can judge the suitability of illustrations and developing illustrations related to emergency maneuvers for various subjects and appropriate for learner level.

한국 사회복지실천 현장 내 기본 실천기술의 실증적 확인 및 분류 (Basic Social Work Practice Skills: Its Empirical Identification and Classification in Korean Practice Fields)

  • 본 연구는 한국의 교육현장과 실천현장을 연결하기 위한 목적의 일환으로 한국의 사회복지실천 현장에서 우리의 사회복지사들이 실제 수행하고 있는 실천활동을 분석해 보기 위한 탐색적 연구이다. 이를 위해, 연구자는 현재 한국의 다양한 사회복지 현장에서 활동하고 있는 사회복지사들(669명의 조사 대상자 중 361명이 응답)이 가장 많이 활용하고 있는 실천기술이 무엇인가를 한국의 실천현장에 뿌리를 두고 경험적으로 조사했다. 활용도가 높은 기술 132개의 목록을 제시했으며 그 기술들 안에 존재하는 주요 기술 축 7개를 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 도출했다. 다음으로 이들 각 기술 축 안에 존재하는 하위 기술군들이 요인분석을 통해 도출되었으며, 이들 하위 기술군을 대표하는 핵심기술지표 42개가 제시되었다. 마지막으로 다양한 실천현장별로 각기 다른 실천기술 축을 확인해 분류하였다. 결과의 함의와 후속 연구를 위한 제언이 제시되었다.

Towards a Global Understanding and Standardisation of Education and Training in Microsurgery

  • With an increasing emphasis on microsurgery skill acquisition through simulated training, the need has been identified for standardised training programmes in microsurgery. We have reviewed microsurgery training courses available across the six continents of the World. Data was collected of relevant published output from PubMed, MEDLINE (Ovid), and EMBASE (Ovid) searches, and from information available on the Internet of up to six established microsurgery course from each of the six continents of the World. Fellowships and courses that concentrate on flap harvesting rather than microsurgical techniques were excluded. We identified 27 centres offering 39 courses. Total course length ranged from 20 hours to 1,950 hours. Student-to-teacher ratios ranged from 2:1 to 8:1. Only two-thirds of courses offered in-vivo animal models. Instructions in microvascular end-to-end and end-to-side anastomoses were common, but peripheral nerve repair or free groin flap transfer were not consistently offered. Methods of assessment ranged from no formal assessment, where an instructor monitored and gave instant feedback, through immediate assessment of patency and critique on quality of repair, to delayed re-assessment of patency after a 12 to 24 hours period. Globally, training in microsurgery is heterogeneous, with variations primarily due to resource and regulation of animal experimentation. Despite some merit to diversity in curricula, there should be a global minimum standard for microsurgery training.

유아교육기관 교사들의 구강보건교육 실태에 관한 연구 (The actual condition of oral health education in children education institute teacher)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to improve the oral health knowledge in children education institute teacher. Methods : Data were selected by convenience sampling method. A self-administered questionnaire was filled out by the children education institute teachers. Frequency analysis and $x^2$ test were used to analyze the actual condition of oral health education and utilizing media contents. Pearson's Results : 1. The teachers received the oral health education (94.3%) twice to five times. 2. There was a difference between position and career of teacher in implementing oral health education. 3. Most of the oral health education were done by the dentists. Tooth brushing method was the most common education contents. Skill demonstration was the most common teaching method. 4. There was a positive correlation between experience and implementation of oral health education. 5. Use of education media accounted for 74.1% in oral health education. The number of media was more than two to five. 6. Self-devised media contents were the most commonly used in oral health education. Visual materials, dentiform and tooth brush were the most common contents in oral health education. Conclusions : It is necessary to develop the systematic and repetitive oral health education curriculum for the children education institute teachers. The dissemination of media for oral care is needed for oral health care knowledge acquisition.

전문대학(專門大學) 방사선과(放射線科)의 수업년한(修業年限) 연장(延長)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Extension of School Years, Two to Three Years, for the Education of Radiologic Technology in Korea)

  • As the institute of education teaching radiologic technology in Korea, different from others, junior college is the only institute which has been managed for it as a two-year educational course for 27 years since 1963 when it was established for the first time in our country irrespective of the needs of the times. But according to the development of medical equipment, variety of medical skill, increase of medical demands now a days, the supply of radiologic technology in modern medicine not only makes it advance as an inevitable factor but also broadens the area of its business systematically. Therefore, we got the following results after we had considered the necessity to lengthen the term of education and searched for the most reasonable way. 1. The term of study of the radiologic technologists in junior college must be lengthened to 3 years from 2 or 3 years regulated in the law of education. 2. In three-year curriculum, the subjects like basic medical science, science and engineering and ultramodern science, etc., which are lated to the new radiologic science must be taught in the junior colleges, and hospital practice also must be a compulsory subject in curriculum. 3. As the school years becomes longer, a lot of programs to make the study effective must be searched, researched and propelled forward.

신규 보건진료전담공무원이 인식한 직무역량과 교육요구 (Job Competencies and Educational Needs Perceived by New Community Health Practitioners)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify job competencies and needs for job education perceived by new community health practitioners. Methods: This study used a qualitative research design. Eight new community health practitioners participated in this study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using content analysis. Results: Five job competencies were identified in this study, including primary care, public health management, interpersonal relationship, teaching and counseling, and leadership. The contents of job education that they needed were management of major symptoms and chronic diseases, understanding and prescription of medications, emergency responses and care, management of endemic diseases, planning and management of public health programs, writing official documentsand computer works, and leadership training. The learning methods they preferred were connecting theory and practice, situation- or case-based learning, skill- or practice-based learning, and increased opportunities of clinical practice. Conclusion: The findings of this study provided the direction of job education for new community health practitioners. Job education for new community health practitioners needs to consider the job competencies and educational needs identified in this study.

행위중심적 유방자가검진 교육이 간호학생의 지식, 자기효능감 및 수행능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Action Oriented Breast Self-examination(BSE) Education on Knowledge, Self-efficacy, and Performance Competence in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was undertaken to test effects of action oriented BSE education on knowledge, selfefficacy, and performance competence in nursing students. Methods: A non-equivalent pre-posttest of time serial quasi-experimental design was used to prevent diffusion of the experiment. Out of 53 nursing students selected by convenient sampling in the third grade at a nursing college, 27 students were randomly assigned to the control group and were first given a traditional lecture on BSE. For the experimental group of 26 students action oriented BSE education consisted of lectures, demonstrations with breast models, and BSE skill practice by micro teaching. Results: There was no significant difference in general and BSE-related characteristics between the two groups. Scores of the experimental group in knowledge, self-efficacy, and performance after the intervention were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusions: Results showed that action- oriented BSE education was effective in increasing knowledge, self-efficacy and performance competence in nursing students. Education for students should incorporate strategies reinforcing confidence by practicing actual BSE skills as well as acquiring knowledge of BSE, so that students can become competent and practical cancer prevention educators.

Development of a Simulator for Off-Line Programming of Gantry-Robot Welding System

  • Welding automation is one of the most important manufacturing issues in shipbuilding in order to lower the cost, increase the quality, and avoid the labor problems. Generally the on-line teaching is utilized on the robot that is used in the welding automation system, but it requires much effort and long time to program. Especially, if the system is composed of more than two cooperating robots, it demands much more skill to program the robots' motion. Thus, a convenient programming tool is required for efficient utilization of welding automation system. In this study, a convenient programming tool is developed for welding automation in which gantry-robot system is used. The system is composed of a gantry transporter and two robots mounted on the gantry to cover the wide work range in the ship building application. As a programming tool, an off-line programming software based on PC is developed. By using this software, field operator does not need to concern about coding of task programs for three control units, one is for gantry and two are for robots. The task programs are automatically generated by assembling the program modules in database according to geometrical information of workpiece and welding condition, which become the only concern of field operator, The feasibility of the generated programs can be verified via a motion simulator previously to on-line running.
