  • The purpose of this study is to identify the social perception characteristics of young children with disabilities over the past decade. For this purpose, Textom, an Internet-based big data analysis system was used to collect data related to young children with disabilities posted on social media. 50 keywords were selected in the order of high frequency through the data cleaning process. For semantic network analysis, centrality analysis and CONCOR analysis were performed with UCINET6, and the analyzed data were visualized using NetDraw. As a result, the keywords such as 'education, needs, parents, and inclusion' ranked high in frequency, degree, and eigenvector centrality. In addition, the keywords of 'parent, teacher, problem, program, and counseling' ranked high in betweenness centrality. In CONCOR analysis, four clusters were formed centered on the keywords of 'disabilities, young child, diagnosis, and programs'. Based on these research results, the topics on social perception of young children with disabilities were investigated, and implications for each topic were discussed.

  • The rapid development and progress of information and communication technology are bringing about changes in the field of education, and innovative methods in teaching-learning have been introduced and applied a lot in the actual field starting with the pandemic. Reflecting this trend, the purpose of this study is to examine the perception of prospective elementary school teachers on the use of edutech, which is widely used in the educational field after COVID-19. To this end, I analyzed the results of 7 major ideas selected at the Edutech Utilization Competition held by K University of Education and the focus group interview conducted with 2 pre-service teachers. As a result of the analysis, it was found that prospective elementary school teachers valued the necessity and importance of edutech-based classes. In addition, they were positively aware of the educational effect of edutech-based classes. To sum up, it could be predicted that edutech classes are also linked to the policies and plans of the Ministry of Education, and will play an important role in effectively guiding future learners while achieving the goals set by the curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study is to observe teachers' perceptions of career education for incumbent Chinese general high school teachers. This is because no matter what the curriculum on career education looks like, career education can eventually be conducted in various directions according to the perception of teachers who provide career education. The survey categories to examine teachers' perceptions are largely divided into five categories: experience/current of career education, importance of career education, necessity of career education, difficulty in the implementation process, and method of implementation. Currently, the Chinese government strongly encourages career education, but it lacks the ability of teachers to stockpile expertise in the field. In addition, teachers showed a high awareness of the effectiveness of career education, but they expressed difficulties in recognizing how to develop vocational career skills. This study is meaningful in that it suggested the direction of improving career education through a survey of teachers' perceptions that determine the realization of career education in a situation where career education research itself is very weak for teachers in general high schools in China.

A total of 100 questionnaires were collected, of which 92 (92.00%) were used for the analysis. Eight were excluded as they were not properly answered. As for the used survey tool, a total of 8 areas and 30 items were derived from the review of the literature, and the validity of the contents was examined through expert meetings. The data were analyzed using the SPSS (ver. 20.0) statistical program. The analysis was conducted in terms of the required competency level, perceived competency level and educational needs. As for the used analytical methods, first, the averages of the required competency level and perceived competency level were calculated and the education needs were calculated using Borich's formula, and then the averages were compared through paired t-test. The results turned out to be statistically significant (p<.000). The details are as follows: As a result of the calculation of the educational needs the educational needs in all areas turned out to be very high with the average being 4.94 points, which indicates that the teachers strongly feel the need for educational strengthening in relation to entrepreneurship. These results show that all the educational conditions such as entrepreneurship-related curriculum, teacher professionalism, educational environment, educational support and the perception among school community members are insufficient in the current school settings. For the improvement of the current status, the education conditions in the following areas should be improved: the cooperation from school community members including principals, teacher support such as an exclusive responsibility teacher system, the development of an entrepreneurship curriculum, the securing of teacher professionalism through the implementation of the curriculum, teacher training support for the enhancement of their professionalism and the provision of educational environment and facilities. For enhancing the perception of parents and society regarding entrepreneurship, it is necessary to establish the precise concept of entrepreneurship and promote it based on such work.

  • This study aims to investigate the primary teachers' perception of social emotional learning (SEL) in Malawi. To achieve this purpose, total 78 questionnaires were gathered from 9 primary schools in rural area. The data was analyzed with independent-samples t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are follows. First, the sub-factors of the Malawian primary teachers' perception of SEL shows that Comfort is 4.10, Commitment is 4.59, and Culture is 3.78. Second, there was a significant difference in the Malawian primary teachers' perception by age, years of teaching, and participation to in-service training about SEL among the individual characteristics. Third, the Malawian primary teachers' degree of implementation of SEL in school was 4.01, and there was a significant difference by years of teaching. Forth, among the sub-factors of teachers' perception of SEL, Comfort had a positive effect on the degree of implementation of SEL. This result implied that the reason why Malawian primary teachers had difficulty in implementing SEL in the school might be not a lack of individual competence but feel uncomfortable with implementation. Therefore, in order to implement SEL in the Malawi school, it is necessary to support teachers so they have confidence and comfort psychologically.

  • Objectives: This study examines the foodservice status of kindergartens attached to elementary schools in Seoul. We further determine the perception of elementary school principals and kindergarten assistant principals on the foodservice management for kindergartens. Methods: This survey was conducted from July 17 to 23, 2019, enrolling 207 kindergartens attached to elementary schools in Seoul. Questionnaires were sent to principals of elementary schools and assistant principals of kindergartens, and the data obtained from 89 kindergartens were included in the analysis. The questionnaire consisted of four parts: general information on subjects, foodservice management status, foodservice management status during elementary school vacations, and the perception of principals of elementary schools and assistant principals of kindergartens on foodservice management. Data are presented as frequency and percentage or mean and standard deviation. Statistical comparison between principals of elementary schools and assistant principals of kindergartens was conducted by paired t-test, chi-square test, and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: A separate menu (10.1%) or recipe (20.2%) that considers preschooler characteristics was rarely used for foodservice at kindergartens attached to elementary schools. Most kindergartens did not have a separate dining space (3.4%) or a dedicated cook (93.3%). Although most kindergartens (92.1%) had operational foodservice during elementary school vacations, non-professional staff and non-nutrition teacher were mainly in charge of organizing the menu and purchasing ingredients (34.1% and 41.5%, respectively). The rate of using a contract catering company (28.0%, 23.2%) was also high. Both elementary school principals and assistant principals of kindergartens showed a high perception of the necessity for providing responsibility allowances for nutrition teachers and improving the cooking environment for kindergartens during elementary school vacations. Conclusions: There is a need for policies and administrative support measures to improve the quality of foodservices for kindergartens attached to elementary schools.
