Pre-service teachers have established and developed their own teaching strategies and professional language teaching skills based on their pedagogical and learning experiences. In this regard, it is conceivable that pre-service teachers' feedback may have distinct viewpoints and focuses. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze pre-service teachers' feedback to microteaching demonstrations. Participants in the study were 40 prospective elementary school teachers. They were invited to offer feedback on microteachings video-recorded by their peers. According to the findings, we identified a total of 708 comments. The majority of feedback was categorized as teacher talk(40.1%) , followed by teaching and learning activity (20.9%), interaction (12.6%), teaching materials (11.4%), classroom atmosphere and learning environment (8.9%), lesson flow (3.7%), review and evaluation (1.3%), and introduction and objectives (1.1%). The most frequent types of feedback were the teacher's use of appropriate speaking rate, tone, and intonation. This finding reflects the fact that English teachers realize the importance of the teacher's English proficiency, therefore we suggest that teacher education institutions need raise awareness not just of teachers' English skills but also of their diverse perspectives.

The purpose of this paper was to develop and execute self-appraisal test items on secondary science teachers. Test items included 6 sub-fields-subject knowledge, teaching strategies, teaching skills, assessment, laboratory management, and professional development - and 77 items. Using these test items, science teachers were able to evaluate their ability as prescribed by a 5-point Likert scale. Furthermore, teachers were able to comprehend fields showing their highest and lowest scores among the 6 sub-fields. They could then place special attention on the lowest field insuring self-growth as a science teacher. Self-appraisal test items were developed by analyzing related references on teacher evaluation criteria and standards. 220 subjects composed the sample on which these test items were executed. The results of this study were as follows. First, content validity of the test items was 80.8%. The range of sub-field reliabilities was .76 - .86 and the reliability coefficient of the entire test was .95. The range of correlation coefficient between each subfield was .54 - .69 and that of subfields and entire test was .54 - .79. The correlation coefficient between professional development and the whole test was .79, the highest coefficient observed. Second, significant difference was found according to teaching experience. More experienced teachers had higher scores in all 6 sub-fields (p<.05). In addition, a significant difference according to gender was observed in subject knowledge and laboratory management (p<.05); male teachers had higher scores than female teachers. Also, the higher the level of experience, the higher the scores for subject knowledge (p<.05). Lastly, the teacher's major did not result in any significant differences.

The purpose of this study is to investigate beginner and experienced Korean science teachers' perceptions about the science teacher preparation courses from which they graduated, and to compare them. The study was conducted as a qualitative study using in-depth interviews. For the study, interview questions were developed by the authors based on the questionnaire of 'The IMPPACT project' that was being conducted in America. The interview tool includes questions about their experience of science subject matter content knowledge, science pedagogical content knowledge, and general pedagogical content knowledge in their preparation courses. For the interview, seven beginning science teachers, less than five years of teaching experience, and five experienced science teachers, more than five years of teaching experience, were sampled from secondary schools in Korea. The research results are as follows: First, most of the beginner and experienced science teachers perceived that the teaching methods in the classes of science subject matter were not good model for teaching science in their secondary school, because they were not diverse enough and entailed mostly knowledge transfer just through lecture without teacher-student interaction. Second, most of the beginner science teachers perceived that they were affected positively by the teaching strategies and evaluation methods in the classes for science pedagogical subject matter and they could apply those strategies and methods in their current science teaching. Lastly, most of the beginner and experienced science teachers perceived that general pedagogical subject matter is important and prerequisite for science teaching in their schools, but the courses that they experienced at their university were not appropriate for their current teaching.
The purpose of this study was to analyze elementary school teachers' implementation for the emphasis on the revision, major contents, teaching and learning method, and evaluation in the 2009 revised national science curriculum. To fulfill the purpose of this study we carried out a survey with 222 elementary school teachers. Main findings of this research were as follows: First, they highly agreed to the increase in class hours and the application of subject classroom, but they had a lower recognition for setting the subject groups. Second, the degree of necessity in discussion and STS was relatively high, but the degree of implementation in science writing, discussion and STEAM was low. Third, in teaching and learning method, they showed a high performance for mutual cooperation, student-led activities and communication, but, a low implementation for open inquiry and instruction considering individual differences. Fourth, in the evaluation of science learning, they showed a high implementation for evaluation based on achievement standards and one based on the understanding and application of basic concepts, but, a low implementation for the development of common evaluation tools. Fifth, it seemed that their recognition for amount, level and interest of science contents and inquiry activities was appropriate and positive.

The objective of this study is to provide university authorities with substantial help in enforcing Microteaching to new professors based on qualitative study. The subjects participated in this study are eleven new professors working for D college located in Busan and the study lasted for ten months from May 2011 to February 2012. The results of this study are as follow: First, new professors took cognizance of Microteaching both as a burdensome task and as a teaching evaluation tool. Second, they had difficulties confronting their exposed teaching realities and accepting the results of teaching evaluation. Third, Microteaching contributed to the shift of professors' attitude from teacher's perspective to students' and the shift of their cognizance from the existing teaching attitude to the improved, innovative, and open teaching attitude. Lastly, this paper proposes that Microteaching enforcement should be made through professors' voluntary participation based on the change of professors' cognizance on Microteaching and Microteaching consulting should be a progress-oriented process rather than an evaluation-oriented process.

This study aims to investigate the problems in conducting the first year project of a five-year school library revitalization project and to suggest the alterative to the present system for the following years. The method of evaluation was to visit the 16 local ministries of education and to interview the government school inspectors, school principals, teachers-in-chief, teacher librarians and parents. The evaluation was conducted based on the following criteria; school library facilities and increase in collection, enrichment of education W through school library, location of manpower and enhancement of profession and building the cooperation system with the private and public sectors. Additionally, school library service training and library support system were evaluated.

This study aims finding a desirable practical skill evaluation practice evaluation method and then improving student’s learning effect by analyzing the present state and the methods of practical skill evaluation in middle-high schools home economics education. Investigated persons are 250 of high schools home economics thachers(125) and middle schools home economics teacher(125) in Seoul, who are choosen by means of random sampling. The items analysis of questionnaires was performed by means of SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science). The investigator analyzed their responses to the questionnaires according to teachers’ages, school careers, majors, places of employment, school years in charge. The results are marked with percentage and the significance level is verified by means of Chi-square(X$\^$2/) analysis method, when necessary. This thesis handles practical skill evaluation of general practice units, of clothing and textile unit, and of nutrient and food unit. The results obtained from the items analysis are as follows; I. Results of the items analysis. A. Practical skill evaluation of general units. 1. The motivation and accomplishment feeling of students are most frequently considered as the aims of practical skill evaluation, but the results of practical skill evaluation are, by contraries, most infrequently considered as improvement materials. 2. A greatest number of teachers make together with their colleagues an annual plan for practical skill evaluation an inform students of the concrete information of the test, but perform respectively practical skill evaluation, using 5 steps method. 3. The percentage that teachers majoring in home economics education as compared with others lay the similar stresses on the preparation processes, attitudes, and results of students is very high.
On the standards or elements of teaching evaluation, the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation(KICE) has carried out several research as follows : 1) establishment of observation elements for selecting examples of good mathematics instruction between 2001 and 2002, 2) development of the standards on teaching evaluation between 2004 and 2006, and 3) investigation on the elements of Pedagogical Content Knowledge including ‘teaching and learning methods and assesment' between 2007 and 2008. The purposes of development of mathematics teaching evaluation standards through those studies were to improve not only mathematics teachers' professionalism but also their own teaching methods or strategies. In this study, the standards were revised and modified by analyzing the results of those three studies (namely, evaluation standards) focused on the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment'. For this purpose, seventh evaluation domains such as instruction involving instructional goal and content, instruction involving problem-solving activity, instruction involving learners' achievement level and attitude, instruction on communication skills, planning of assessment method and procedure, development on assessment tool, application on assessment result in class were new established. According to those seventh evaluation domains, elements on teaching evaluation focused on the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment' were established.
This study reviewed the current status of in-service education programs for infant care teachers in early childhood education and care settings. In addition, the training program(titled "infant specialist program") which had been developed in one district of Seoul in order to assist the job performance and speciality for infant care teachers was discussed. The focus in the development of the training program, its teaching content and method were addressed in detail. The results related to evaluation of the training program of interest were reported. The infant care teachers who had participated in the training program reported that the levels of their teaching efficacy and those of knowledge of infant development from post-tests were significantly increased over time. In line with the main results of this study, implications for practice and policy were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary and middle school teachers' perception and the need for the application of 2015 revised science curriculum. Four hundred and sixty-eight elementary school teachers and four hundred and twenty-two middle school teachers were surveyed. The results of the research are as follows. many elementary and middle school teachers responded that major changes in the 2015 revised curriculum were applicable in school science education. However, they expected that the lack of teaching and learning materials, lack of experiment preparation time, and lack of their understanding about how to improve the scientific core competencies and how to use the content system were major difficulties in applying the major changes in the 2015 revised science curriculum. They also thought that teaching and learning materials were needed in order to apply the 2015 revised science curriculum. Based on these results, this study suggested content for teacher training, the role of teachers, and formation of a teacher community.
