Recent changes in educational paradigms that emphasize the performance or outcomes of education are redefining how learning objectives are being described as 'learning outcomes' in various academic disciplines. Medical education is not an exception to this trend. However, it has come to our attention that the key concepts and appropriate descriptions of learning outcomes have not been well understood among educators and that this lack of understanding has hindered our efforts to implement the practice in the field. This study aims to provide a direction to establish and describe learning outcomes by examining previous studies that have focused on setting learning objectives as well as learning outcomes. Setting and describing learning outcomes starts from reflection on the approach of behavioral learning objectives, which overemphasizes learner's acquired knowledge, skills, and attitude in each classroom rather than actual performance. On the other hand, the learning outcome approach focuses on what the learner is able to do as a result of a learning experience. This approach is more learner-friendly and encourages students to lead and be responsible for their learning process. Learning outcomes can best be described when the relevance of actual contexts and the hierarchy of learning objectives are considered. In addition, they should be in the form of context, task, performance, and level, as well as be planned with proper assessment and feedback procedures. When these conditions are met, the learning outcome approach is beneficial to students as it presents a curriculum that is more open to learners. Despite these advantages of the learning outcome approach, there is a possible concern that setting the learning outcomes and describing them can restrict evaluation to lower cognitive skills if the concept of learning outcome is narrowly interpreted or is set too low. To avoid such narrow applications, it is important for educators to understand the comprehensiveness of the learning outcome setting and to consider long-term outcomes embedded in an organizational vision rather than only short-term behavioral outcomes.
A speech processing model based on a psycholinguistic approach can identify the specific speech processing deficits of children with speech sound disorders (SSDs) through various pathways. In most cases, the cause of the speech problem with SSD children is unknown, so it is important to identify the underlying strengths and weaknesses for individualized intervention. In addition, because the native language deficits can also affect foreign language production, it is necessary to examine speech processing abilities between the two languages. This study is a preliminary study to develop a Korean-English speech processing task system. Speech production task and speech processing task (DT, PRT, NRT) were conducted both in Korean and English on 10 children with SSD and 20 normal children (NSA). As a result, the SSD group showed significantly lower production ability than the NSA group in both languages. As a result of the speech processing task, there was no significant difference in the discrimination task (DT), while there was a significant difference between language types in the phonological representation task (PRT) and between language types and groups in the nonword repetition task (NRT). The results of this study confirmed that children's native language and foreign language processing skills may be different, and that the sub-tasks of speech processing system should be further subdivided.
Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to rationale the new approach to analysis of the human capital as a factor of effective development of a national economy and increase the level of country's competitiveness. Research design, data, and methodology - This research aims the furthest development of the conception in human capital formation. The study made on the base of the methods with scientific classification and systematization, that is, comparative, statistical analysis, economic-mathematic method, and expert assessment and ratings. Results - This research attempted to measure the correlation between the human capital elements and the level of country's competitiveness. The study revealed that formation of the competitive human capital cannot be considered in separation from the development and modernization of education system, the improvement of employment sphere, and the creation of effective interaction between them through the system of professional skills. Conclusions - The competitive human capital formation is one of the most important goals in the innovative economy construction and modern development, and it is also indispensable subject. Especially in the condition of economic crises, the necessity of formation and development of the effective human capital is considerably increasing. Realization of this task requires the development and stimulation of all the factors influencing the growing human potential.

The past quantitative analysis of the demand for job skill training had mainly focused on personnel shortage and oversupply, so it has the problems of the qualitative discrepancies called skill mismatch. As a supplementary study relating to specific industries and occupations, a discussion to improve the job skills training programs through a qualitative analysis is needed. This study provide the analysis of urgency evaluation using the relative importance and gap of the job skill elements in the display industry. And renewal possibilities of the training program based on this qualitative bottom-up approach will be discussed. We carried out a job skill demand survey in the display industry as research methods. Industry related jobs and each job task, the qualitative demand for each job skills, and procurement methods for each job skills were analyzed. Adequate supply of vocational training programs have tried to find ways by illustrating some related training courses.

The purpose of this study was to develop a program to cultivate mathematical creativity based on open-ended problem and to investigate its effect. The major features of this innovative program are (a) breaking up fixations, (b) multiple answers, (c) various strategies, (d) problem posing, (e) exploring strategies, (f) selecting and estimating, (g) active exploration through open-ended problems. 20 units for 7th grade mathematics were developed. This study hypothesizes that experimental students may develop more divergent thinking abilities than their traditional counterparts. The participants were 7th grade students attending middle schools in Seoul. Instruments were pre and post tests to measure mainly divergent thinking skills through open-ended problems. The results indicated that the experimental students achieved better than the comparison students on overall and each component of fluency, flexibility, and originality of divergent thinking skills, when deleting the effect of covariance of the pretest. The developed program can be a useful resource for teachers to use in enhancing their students' creative thinking skills. Further this open-ended approach can be served as a model to implement in classes. This study suggests that further investigations are needed in order to examine effects on affective domains such as motivation and task perseverance which are also considered as important factors of creativity.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the problems and relevant variables for effective Organizational Socialization of new nurses, to produce a causal map, to build up a simulation model and to test its validity. Method: The basic data was collected from Sep. 2002 to July 2003. The Organizational Socialization process of new nurses was analyzed through a model simulation. The VENSIM 5.0b DSS program was used to develop the study model. Result: This Model shows interrelation of these result variables: organizational commitment, job satisfaction, job performance, intention of leaving the work setting, decision making ability, and general results of Organizational Socialization. The model's factors are characteristic of organization and individual values, task-related knowledge and skills, and emotion and communication that affects new nurses' socialization process. These elements go through processes of anticipatory socialization, encounter, change and acquisition. The Model was devised to induce effective Organizational Socialization results within 24 months of its implementation. The basic model is the most efficient and will also contribute to the development of knowledge in the body of nursing. Conclusion: This study will provide proper direction for new Nurse's Organizational Socialization. Therefore, developing an Organizational Socialization Process Model is meaningful in a sense that it could provide a framework that could create effective Organizational Socialization for new nurses.
A camp program where the theory of inventive problem solving TRIZ is applied to real problems of the industry was developed and taught at a five-day seminar apart from the standard curriculum at a university D in Gyeonggido. This study focuses on the educational effect that the TRIZ method has on the engineering students when their creative problem solving skills are required to solve industry problems on their own with the knowledge from their courses. For five days, the students were educated about TRIZ and assigned a real industry problem "Removal of friction caused by bubble formation in water heating pipelines". By applying TRIZ to the problem, the students developed an "Air removing Air Arrester" which received the evaluation, "with understanding the system architecture and the task objective causes and formation of the problem could be handled which directly helps the company's R&D". In this case, TRIZ offers the students a guideline and knowledge on how to approach problems and as a result the students provided a practical solution. During the process, the TRIZ method instilled confidence in the students and proved to be a motivation. It becomes obvious that this short-term program has a positive effect on students' way of thinking creatively and increasing their problem-solving abilities.
Purpose - The present study bridges a significant gap in the literature by investigating the complex relationship between job crafting and protean career attitudes. It has been demonstrated that job crafting, which entails the proactive redesign of work roles, responsibilities, and relationships, empowers employees, and elevates. Research design, data, and methodology - This study employed a tailored search approach with specific terms linked to job crafting and protean career attitudes to ensure a thorough and focused analysis. The keywords include "Job crafting," "protean career attitudes," "career development," and related terms. This strategy uses an organized method to identify, screen, and choose appropriate studies. Result: This study synthesizes prior studies and identifies four critical links between the development of jobs and protean career attitudes. To begin with, task crafting, which entails job requirements and scope modifications, leads to protean career attitudes as employees match their roles to their skills and passions. Second, rational crafting, which is adjusting interactions with coworkers and superiors encourages flexible career attitudes. Conclusion - This study insists that organizations must consider the essential practical ramifications. Employers may improve employee growth, engagement, and talent retention by encouraging job customization, recognizing protean workers, cultivating a protean culture, investing in ongoing learning.
Communication breakdown has been mentioned causing a heavy burden for dementia caregivers. This study aims to inspect and structure the process and results of communication between people with dementia and their caregivers. The impeding/facilitating elements of communication are also extracted. Interviews with 21 of dementia care experts about the direct and indirect experiences of communication with people with dementia were analyzed based on the grounded theory. Results show that combination of the cognitive and communication decline of the people with dementia, confusing environment and caregivers' inappropriate attitude and lack of communication skills leads to communication breakdown and relations severance. Minimal contacts and task-oriented conversation results in conflicts and people with dementia's increasing agitation, anxiety and violent behaviors while understanding of individuality and listening with heart lead to recovered lucidity in the state of serious dementia, recovered pleasure and voluntary participation in the daily activities for people with dementia. Core paradigm was defined as 'Person Centered Care through relation formation'. There are 4 types of communication with people with dementia : partnering, patronizing, conflicting, avoiding types. Researchers suggest that Person Centered based communication skills be educated and trained for dementia caregivers.

Objective : This is a descriptive study using a program review collaborative group program by special educator and occupational therapist for supporting children's school tasks, and it is designed to explore how changed school performance skills and to analyze how applied intervention methods including sensory integrative approach. Methods : Participants were 6 male elementary students(5 = 1st grade, 1 = 2nd grade). Pilot program had reviewed and its results used as base for planning main program. Main program was implemented by collaborative process with teacher and occupational therapist for 1 year. School AMPS was used to assess school task participants, and informal motor and process skill observation was used to assess self-help activities. Description of records by professions about intervention strategies through assessments was described as qualitative way. Japanese sensory inventory was used by parents. Results : Through the collaborative process, assessing children, planning and modifying program, establishing intervention strategies were implemented. Self-help abilities in group program were increased much more independently. School task abilities were increased slightly but skills changed irregularly and unexpectedly and their reasons became considered more complex from sensory processing reasons to social and emotional reasons. Conclusion : Sensory integration had benefits for primary group program and more complex intervention strategies became to emerge demands for person- environment-task challenges. Collaborative practice with teacher and occupational therapist was supplement and synergic effect for children and group dynamics. More objective and comprehensive methods for measure collaboration and group effect would be needed in further study.
