COMPONENT-BASED DEVELOPMENT OF OBSERVATIONAL SOFTWARE FOR KASI SOLAR IMAGING SPECTROGRAPH

  • In this paper, we have made the component-based development of observational software for KASI solar imaging spectrograph (KSIS) that is able to obtain three-dimensional imaging spectrograms by using a scanning mirror in front of the spectrograph slit. Since 2002, the KASI solar spectrograph has been successfully operated to observe solar spectra for a given slit region as well as to inspect the response functions of narrow band filters. To improve its capability, we have developed the KSIS that can perform sequential observations of solar spectra by simultaneously controlling the scanning mirror and the CCD camera via Visual C++. Main task of this paper is to introduce the development of the component-based software for KSIS. Each component of the software is reusable on the level of executable file instead of source code because the software was developed by using CBD (component-based development) methodology. The main advantage of such a component-based software is that key components such as image processing component and display component can be applied to other similar observational software without any modifications. Using this software, we have successfully obtained solar imaging spectra of an active region (AR 10708) including a small sunspot. Finally, we present solar $H{\alpha}$ spectra ($6562.81{\AA}$) that were obtained at an active region and a quiet region in order to confirm the validity of the developed KSIS and its software.

컬러 영상의 조명성분 분석을 통한 문자인식 성능 향상 (Improved Text Recognition using Analysis of Illumination Component in Color Images)

  • 본 논문에서는 컬러영상에 존재하는 문자들을 효율적으로 추출하기 위한 새로운 접근 방법을 제안한다. 빛 또는 조명성분의 영향에 의해 획득된 영상 내에 존재하는 반사성분은 문자 또는 관심객체들의 경계가 모호해 지거나 관심객체와 배경이 서로 혼합 되었을 경우, 문자추출 및 인식을 함에 있어서 오류를 포함시킬 수 있다. 따라서 영상 내에 존재하는 반사성분을 제거하기 위해 먼저. 컬러영상으로부터 Red컬러 성분에 해당하는 히스토그램에서 두개의 pick점을 검출한다. 이후 검출된 두 개의 pick점들 간의 분포를 사용하여 노말 또는 편광 영상에 해당하는지를 판별한다. 노말 영상의 경우 부가적인 처리를 거치지 않고 문자에 해당하는 영역을 검출하며, 편광 영상에 해당하는 경우 반사성분을 제거하기 위해 호모모픽필터링 방법을 적용하여 반사성분에 해당하는 영역을 제거한다. 이후 문자영역을 검출하기 위해 최적전역임계화방식을 적용하여 전경과 배경을 분리하였으며 문자영역 추출 및 인식의 성능을 향상시켰다. 널리 사용되고 있는 문자 인식기를 사용하여 제안한 방식 적용 전과 후의 인식결과를 비교하였다. 편광영상에서 제안된 방법 적용 후, 문자인식을 한 경우 인식률이 향상되었다.

  • In this paper, we proposed small scale real-time operating system for embedded system. Real-time system is characterized by the severe consequences that result if logical as well as timing correctness properties of system are not met. On real-time system, real-time operating system allows real-time applications to be designed and expanded easily. Functions can be added without requiring major changes to the software. We design small scale real-time operating system for preemptive kernel, and design kernel component such as multitasking, scheduler, task priority, semaphore, inter-task communication, clock tick timer, ISR(Interrupt Service Routine) mechanism has low interrupt latency.

노년층의 담화 산출 특성: 노화, 성별, 교육정도에 따른 차이 (Discourse Characteristics in Healthy Elderly: Effects of Aging, Gender and Educational Level)

  • Discourse is regarded as an important component of communication assessment, but studies about the discourse characteristics of the elderly are scant. The purpose of this study was to confirm the effects of aging, gender, and educational level on discourse in elderly people with normal cognitive function. Forty normal elderly and forty young people participated in this study. A picture description task (Boston Cookie-Theft picture) was used to examine discourse function. The description task was analyzed for both productivity (total number of sentences, total number of syllables, and syllables per sentence) and semantics (CIU ratio). The results were as follows: 1) Only CIU ratio differed significantly according to age. 2) In the total number of syllables and syllables per sentence, females demonstrate a higher number than males. 3) The CIU ratio differed significantly according to educational level. These results suggest that impairment of communicative function is an aspect of cognitive impairment that can be related to aging. Also, discourse performance in the elderly is associated with their gender and educational level.

  • The challenge is to maximize the time-to-market benefits of concurrent engineering while maintaining control of data and distributing it automatically to the people who need it when they need it. The way PDM systems cope with this challenge is that master data is held only once in a secure vault where its integrity can be assured and all changes to it monitored, controlled and recorded. The structure of PDM is various from vendor, but they have common module. That is PDM and it is most important. The goal is to design the workflow in PDM using object-oriented modeling method. The past methods have concentrated on the flow between workflow engine and agent, but this paper will focus on task. We will model task as individual object. This paper uses OMT(Object Modeling Technique) by James Rumbaugh for base modeling tool and uses DCOM(Distributed Component Object Model) for base ORB(Object Request Broker). Research object is to design the static object model, to design state change by dynamic model and to design data transition by functional model.

  • 현재 새롭게 개발되는 소프트웨어는 50% 이상이 분산 플랫폼에서 개발되고 있다. 또한 분산 컴포넌트 기반의 소프트웨어 개발을 가능하게 하는 EJB(Enterprise Java Beans)[1] COM(Component Object Model )[2]. CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture)[3] 와 같은 기술이 급격히 발전하고 있다. 따라서 분산 플랫폼 상에서 컴포넌트 기반의 응용 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 체계적인 개발 프로세스가 요구된다. 그러나 현재의 일반적인 컴포넌트 기반 소프트웨어 개발 방법론은 각 작업들간의 관 계와 각 작업의 산출물간의 관계를 명확히 제시하지 않는다. 또한 분산 응용 소프트웨어 개발에 있어서 고려되어야 할 분산 이슈에 대해서도 체계적으로 다루지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 분산 컴포넌트 기반의 응용 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 분석 및 설계 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법에서는 UMI 기반의 프로세스인 Unified process를 바탕으로 하여 체계적인 개발 지침과 산출물의 관계를 제시한다 또한 플랫폼과 프로그래밍 언어에 독립적인 CORBA 환경을 고려하여 성능. 결함 방지, 안전성, 분산 트랜잭션의 분산 이슈를 명시적으로 다루는 지침을 제시한다.

Secure Blocking + Secure Matching = Secure Record Linkage

  • Performing approximate data matching has always been an intriguing problem for both industry and academia. This task becomes even more challenging when the requirement of data privacy rises. In this paper, we propose a novel technique to address the problem of efficient privacy-preserving approximate record linkage. The secure framework we propose consists of two basic components. First, we utilize a secure blocking component based on phonetic algorithms statistically enhanced to improve security. Second, we use a secure matching component where actual approximate matching is performed using a novel private approach of the Levenshtein Distance algorithm. Our goal is to combine the speed of private blocking with the increased accuracy of approximate secure matching.

  • Through the AUTOSAR methodology, the embedded software shall become more flexible, reusable, maintainable than ever. However, it is not mentioned about specific timing constraints of software components in AUTOSAR. There are a few basic principles for mapping runnable entities. At this point, AUTOSAR software design with optimal scheduling method is one of the enabling technologies in vehicle embedded system. This paper presents an approach based on mapping runnable entities and task scheduling design method for EPS (Electric Power Steering) software components, based on AUTOSAR. In addition, the experimental results of concurrent simulation show that the proposed scheduling technique and timing synchronization in the software component design can achieve the improved torque ripple performance and it well suited for EPS application software.

  • In this paper, we present a reducing power consumption of a scheduling for module selection under the time constraint. Traditional high-level synthesis do not allow reuse of complex, realistic datapath component during the task of scheduling. On the other hand, the proposed scheduling of reducing power consumption is able to approach a productivity of the design the low power to reuse which given a library of user-defined datapath component and to share of resource sharing on the switching activity in a shared resource. Also, we are obtainable the optimal the scheduling result in experimental results of our approach various HLS benchmark environment using chaining and multi-cycling in the scheduling techniques..

  • The performance of a speech recognition system is generally degraded in telephone environment because of distortions caused by background noise and various channel characteristics. In this paper, data-driven temporal filters are investigated to improve the performance of a specific recognition task such as telephone speech. Three different temporal filtering methods are presented with recognition results for Korean connected-digit telephone speech. Filter coefficients are derived from the cepstral domain feature vectors using the principal component analysis. According to experimental results, the proposed temporal filtering method has shown slightly better performance than the previous ones.
