  • In this paper, we present signal processing procedure and carry out performance analysis of FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar for Autonomous Unmanned Vehicle(AUV). In order to detect range profile and velocity of the unknown target, we must implement two step FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) procedure. And the DBF(Digital Beam Forming) algorithm has to be performed to obtain the angle information of the unknown target. To verify the performance of manufactured autonomous unmanned ground vehicle FMCW radar, we use the data of the real corner reflecter target.

  • A thermal imaging system is implemented for the measurement and the analysis of the thermal distribution of the target objects. The main part of the system is a thermal camera in which a focal plane array typed sensor is introduced. The sensor detects the mid-range infrared spectrum of target objects and then it outputs a generic video signal which should be processed to form a frame thermal image. Here, a digital signal processor(DSP) is applied for the high speed processing of the sensor signals. The DSP controls analog-to-digital converter, performs correction algorithms and outputs the frame thermal data to frame buffers. With the frame buffers can be generated a NTSC signal and transferred the frame data to personal computer(PC) for the analysis and a monitoring of the thermal scenes. By performing the signal processing functions in the DSP the overall system achieves a simple configuration. Several experimental results indicate the performance of the overall system.

The killing activity of antibody activated CD$4^+$T cells was completely blocked by herbimycin A, a protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) inhibitor, but not by bisindolylamaleimide, a protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor. Herbimycin A treated human or bovine peripheral blood CD$4^+$T cells lacked PTK activity and failed to kill virally infected target cells even after cross-linking of CD4 molecules. The CD$4^+$cross-linking failed to induce effector cell proliferation or the transcription of TNF${\beta}$ Upregulation of TNF${\beta}$ was induced by incubating the antibody activated effector cells with BHV-1 infected D17 target cells for 10 h. Anti-TNF${\beta}$ antibody partially abolished (13-44%) the direct effector cell-mediated antiviral cytotoxicity. However, this antibody neutralized 70 to 100% of antiviral activity of effector and target cell culture supernatants against BHV-1 infected D17 cells. The inhibition level of the antiviral activity by the antibody was dependent on the effector and target cell ratio. These results support the hypothesis that increased p$56^ICK enzyme activity in effector cells transduces a signal critical for effector cell recognition of viral glycoproteins expressed on the target cells. Following target cell recognition, lytic cytokines known to participate in target cell killing were produced. • This paper describes development and performance test of signal processor for the millimeter wave seeker. A ground to air guidance missile is required various beam patterns in order to counteract different kind of target. Therefore, we designed the hardware and software architecture considering flexibility. This signal processor consists of ADC, FPGA, DSP and etc. FPGA provides peripheral interface to DSP and convert digital IF signal to baseband signal. DSP performs signal processing, calculates target's information and controls devices. Each parts' hardware are connected in series and signal processing algorithms for various beam patterns are built in parallel.

  • In this paper, we described the model of noise, target for tracking radar and range tracking, angle tracking, and Doppler frequency tracking for target acquisition and tracking. Target signal as well as the noise signal is modeled as random process varying with elapsed time. This paper addresses three areas of radar target tracking: range tracking, angle tracking, and Doppler frequency tracking. In general, range tracking is prerequisite to and inherent in both angle and Doppler frequency tracking systems. First, we introduced the several range tracking and described techniques for achieving range tracking. Second, we described the radar angle tracking techniques including conical scan, sequential lobing, and monopulse. Finally, we presented concepts and techniques for Doppler frequency tracking for several radar types.

  • In this paper, we studied an algorithm for estimating a desired target by removing noise and interference in a wireless communication environment. When an information signal with a mixture noise and interference receive a receiver, noise and interference signals must be removed to accurately estimate a desired target. In order to divide the received signal region into two spatial, a power spectrum is obtained by analyzing a correlation matrix, covariance, eigen vector, and eigen value. The proposed spectrum is an algorithm that can remove noise and interference, and analyzes the existing algorithm and target estimation performance through simulation. As a result of simulation, the target estimation resolution of existing algorithm is more than 10°, but the resolution of the proposed algorithm is less than 10°. The proposed algorithm has improved the resolution of about 5° than the exiting algorithm. The proposed algorithm proved that the target estimation accuracy and resolution are superior to the existing algorithm.

  • In environment of torpedo firing, underwater acoustic signal is generated by target and noise. Sound wave which is generated from acoustic signal is propagated by seawater and it is received through the sonar(sound navigation and ranging) system mounted on torpedo. In the ocean, acoustic signal or sound wave from target that is generated by the spread of broadband can be attenuated by ambient noise and can be lost by medium and environment. This research is designed to support teamwork training in Naval operations by constructing a simulation system that is more similar to the real-world conditions. This paper attempts to research the modeling of target detection and to develop the simulation of torpedo sonar(TOSO). In order to develop the realistic simulation, we researched the broadband sound modeling of target and noise source, the modeling of acoustic transmission loss by chemical component of seawater, and the modeling of signal attenuation by ambient noise environment which is approximated by experimental measurements in seawater surrounding the Korea Peninsular and by experience of Navy's actual torpedo firing. This research contributed to constructing more practical simulation of torpedo firing in real time and the results of this research were used to develop a teamwork training system for the Navy and their education.

  • MTI filter is used to separate target signal from clutter in many radar signal processing. By suppressing clutter before CFAR detection, the detection performance can be improved. As a radar system designed, a design engineer generally takes averaged SNR and CNR into account and does not include the effect of MTI filter's frequency response. In practice, when the signals including clutter are pass through the filter, SNR is widely varying according to target velocity and CNR is also varying according to clutter center frequency and spectrum spreading. In this paper, we have derived the relationship between the MTI filter's frequency response and a target's velocity and a clutter's spectrum characteristics. With the variation of SNR and CNR at the filter output, the detection performance of CFAR has been analyzed by the simulation and has made certain of their influences on the performance.

  • We designed the multiple scattering points generation system to simulate an actual situation of target signal for high range resolution radar system. This provides replicating the target signals and controlling the status of target signals for radar system. This is composed transmit antenna and multi target generator. Transmit antenna is waveguide array antenna and multi target generator has signal distribution module and control & power module. Multi target generator is able to provide the high isolation and variable output power. Moreover, in order to monitor all output signals of the multi target generator, the flows of signals are programed in control & power module. The performance is demonstrated using experimented results of high range resolution radar.

  • In this paper, a target detection method based on beamspace-domain multichannel nonnegative matrix factorization is studied when an echo of continuous-wave ping is received from a low-Doppler target in reverberant environment. If the receiver of the continuous-wave active sonar moves, the frequency range of the reverberation is broadened due to the Doppler effect, so the low-Doppler target echo is interfered by the reverberation in this case. The developed algorithm analyzes the multichannel spectrogram of the received signal into frequency bases, time bases, and beamformer gains using the beamspace-domain multichannel nonnnegative matrix factorization, then the algorithm estimates the frequency, time, and bearing of target echo by choosing a proper basis. To analyze the performance of the developed algorithm, simulations were performed in various signal-to-reverberation conditions. The results show that the proposed algorithm can estimate the frequency, time, and bearing, but the performance was degraded in the low signal-to-reverberation condition. It is expected that modifying the selection algorithm of the target echo basis can enhance the performance according to the simulation results.
